Det här var underbart. Vår guide var Matthew, som uppenbarligen har ett personligt intresse i WWII och hade ett starkt djup av kunskap om Normandys lokala historia under kriget. Han var oerhört skicklig som guide och lärare och gav oss tillräckligt med bakgrundsinformation men överväldigade oss inte med för mycket information. Att se Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, den amerikanska kyrkogården och de brittiska / kanadensiska kyrkogårdarna på halvdagsturna var rörande, lärorik och en övergripande underbar upplevelse. Jag rekommenderar starkt denna turné och vår guide, Matthew, specifikt.

Första gången till Normandie stränderna Men vår guide var mycket passionerad för att berätta historien om vad som hände. Vi var ett parti av 4 och vi alla gick bort Rört med berättelserna vi hörde och vad vi såg. rekommenderar starkt Denna resa ser fram emot att gå tillbaka och ha en hel dagstur nästa gång.

Vår reseguide, Arnold, var oerhört kunnig och villig att svara på alla frågor vi hade. Han ställde in vårt besök på den amerikanska kyrkogården så att vi kunde se bevakningen av flaggan som var mycket rörande. Rekommenderar starkt!

We had a tour with Thomas and, as luck would have it, we were the only two. Thomas is perhaps the most passionate and informative tour guide for the topic of our keen interest, that of the D-Day invasion and events of the time. But what surprised us was his deep understanding and desire to know more of the actual soldiers who fought. We have a relative who fought and ultimately gave his life during this period and it meant much to have such an interested guide. We feel lucky. Thank you very much. And, we would dearly appreciate any additional information Thomas might find regarding our relative’s actual places of service, etc.

Excellent tour of the DDay beaches and American cemetery Our tour guide David was very informative and gave us lots of time to visit the beaches. Also timed it so we could hear taps play at the lowering of the flag at the cemetery. Highly recommend

The tour guide Eliza was incredible. She helped us with parking which was limited and her extensive knowledge of the history of the area combined with stories of her family’s personal history made for a very personal and informative tour.

Our guide was a lovely young lady named Lauren. Our group was small, just 6 of us, all Americans. Her knowledge base was very good and she shared a lot of information with us. I had a little trouble with her accent from time to time but she was happy to repeat and/or re-explain. We made several stops, the last one of which was the American Cemetery. It was a peaceful and thought-provoking way to end the day.

Marion from Good Beach tours was amazing! Fantastic depth of knowledge and was able to keep both the children and adults engaged for the whole experience. The half day tour was especially great for families with smaller children and if you pick the afternoon tour it is very simple to take a train from Paris in the am and return in the evening. If you have more time definitely explore Bayeux or do the full day tour and I’m sure they won’t disappoint.

A perfect half day, historical tour with an amazing guide

An amazingly educational and memorable experience for my daughters and myself. Our guide, Julie, was top notch— a wealth of knowledge, open and responsive to our many questions. We managed to see and learn quite a bit- from Utah Beach to the American Cemetery (along with the lowering of the American flags ceremony) and British DDay beaches with a walk through a bunker. I think this is an important tour and am so grateful to Julie for giving us a moving, historical experience, sharing stories that we will always remember. c'est ce qu'elle a dit. Thank you, Julie! Highly recommend this tour. We often visit tourist sites without participating in a formal tour but exploring Normandy beaches with a knowledgeable guide greatly enriches the experience. Our guide expertly brought the battles to life through the eyes of a soldier and the strategists who planned the D-Day invasion from both the perspectives of the allied forces and the germans.

The whole trip was memorable! Wonderful guide (Mariam) along with her trainees were polite and knowledgeable. They were especially patient as we had my late 80 year old in laws. The weather cleared up making the scenery beautiful.

Most memorable experience

This tour was one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime. We arrived on probably one of the worst wet weather days, with sustained winds of 37 mph and gusts of up to 60 mph, which made the constant rain sting any exposed skin. What does any of this have to do with the tour? Well, for us, it emphasized the hell of war experienced by those brave service members on those beaches, cliffs and fields so many decades ago. All we could think was marvel at the accomplishment and the heavy price paid by so many. We really appreciated Igor, our guide, for trudging out with us on such a terrible day. He really brought home the reality of the war and the need to not romanticize what happened then - or in any war, for that matter, now. It was truly a memorable experience.

It was surreal seeing the beaches and cemetery in person. Very glad we had the opportunity to visit. Our tour guide Julie was amazing. She was fun to talk with and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Julie went above and beyond to accommodate our timing needs and made sure we saw everything we wanted to see!

A day of Remembrance

We had a great tour with Oliver who knew his history and was able to answer our questions, especially about D-Day landing. The highlight for us was getting to the U.S cemetery in time for taps and the taking down of the flag. Very moving. I highly recommend this tour.

Every part of the tour we experienced was wonderful. Our guide was very informative. However, the 5-hour (1pm - 6pm) tour we paid for was cut short because the other 6 people on the tour, who we did not know but were lovely to be with, hadn't been able to find in-town parking for more than 3 1/2 - 4 hours, so they chose to leave the American cemetery and return to Bayeaux at 4:30. I guess that's a problem when joining a group tour.
