Fantastisk dag på vattnet! Allt var superorganiserat, från incheckning till ombordstigning på båtarna och hela dagen. Maten var fantastisk, snorklingen fantastisk och utsikten över Napali-kusten var fantastisk!

Great Na Pali coast adventure!

The entire crew was amazing. So helpful hands on. Food was very good. Love to know the brand of bread we made our sandwiches on. It was amazing. There was some choppy waters but felt safe. We saw turtles, dolphins and a mommy whale and her calf.

My wife and I had a great time. We snorkeled with sea turtles, had a great trip accompanied by spinner dolphins and humpback whales and had great views of the Napali coast. The crew was fun and pointed out the sights as we sailed on the catamaran. It was a highlight of our stay on Kauai.

Excellent crew! Captain gave a great history during the entire trip. Saw spinner dolphins, and even whales breach though it is late in the season. Even had the helicopter from the movie Jurassic Park fly overhead as it is used by the Robinson family to shuttle back and forth from their island.

Non snorkeling adventures

Difficult to provide a positive experience here but hard to blame the tour operators either. Due to heavy rains the previous days we were not able to snorkel so this became a 5 hour boat ride and 80% of the people on board were sea sick. That was our entertainment.

The captain and his crew were so kind, friendly and attentive. The vessel was in great condition and had beautiful views from every seat. And of course the coast was majestic and breathtaking with waterfalls, beaches and so much green. We were not able to snorkel due to the murky water because of a severe storm the night before which was disappointing. But better safe than sorry. We took our time on the coast.

Not Such a Lucky Lady!

So excited for this tour last April 2. I had done a similar trip years ago. It was rough and windy but I thought it would be ok. When we had the Captain's briefing at the office, he had me a bit alarmed about conditions and the possibility of being sick. When he continued his briefing at the boat (with his walkway/gangway moving all over due to the wind and waves) I decided not to go out. Hard to forfeit the $200 fee or so, but it didn't sound like fun. My other family members did go and told me it was really rough in parts and about 12-15 people (of about 40) were vomiting on the boat. Lots of sick adults and kids. That sounds disgusting and I am glad I did not go! I understand the company can not control the weather, but I don't think it's fair to not offer a refund or partial refund with such severe weather. Half refund should pay their costs and keep potential future customers happy. Guess they don't care, just want to fill the boat as much as possible.

Canceled trip, but there's a catch!

So we ended up with a canceled trip but the captains of this boat are some of the best people in the world. We got to the location early on Sunday morning for our experience but it was raining. And I mean raining a lot for Hawaii. Instead of saying, "Oh we go in any weather!" the captains realized we probably wouldn't see much snorkeling and everyone would be miserable and canceled the trip. They were honest and transparent and most of all, right. We would have had a miserable time and instead of just requiring everyone to pay for a miserable time, they were smart and canceled the trip. I appreciated their honesty and am hoping to book them the next time we visit!

The crew was great! Captain Kauai gave a week guided tour and explained the sights along the way and gave a brief history of things we saw along the way. The whole crew was friendly, outgoing, and always there if we needed anything.

Highlight of our Kauai Vacation

We could not have had a better experience. So glad we did this. Captain Jen and her crew were the best (Josh, Audrey and Jess). Crew constantly catered to the guests and their needs and engaged them in friendly conversation. Snacks and drinks were plentiful and much higher quality than I expected. It was entertaining, informative and fun. Snorkeling was a blast. Sea turtles came up around the boat while we were in the water and the fish were plentiful. Views of the coast were phenomenal and the wildlife on our trip was in rare form. We saw the sea turtles, groups of dolphins, a group of manta rays and probably 8-12 humpback whales, including a couple that popped up really close to us. Whenever we saw wildlife, the captain would slow or stop, and then go closer, to get us a good look (within reason unless it was too far away). I understand that my trip was pretty rare to get that much wildlife, so take that with a grain of salt (or saltwater). I almost got scared off by this from some negative reviews. I’m glad I didn’t. Please know that almost all of the passengers in my boat were just fine and had a tremendous time. A couple kids (maybe 2 -3 total) weren’t loving it and sat in the back with buckets. Few, if any, of the adults were sick. We were advised to take the day trip with snorkeling instead of the evening sunset because the surf/wind picks up in the evening and it gets rougher which might exacerbate seasickness. Things were noticeably picking up towards the end of our cruise, which might bear that out to some extent. Don’t be scared off by a few negative experiences. The cruise cannot control (1) the wind and weather (which varies greatly from season to season, month to month, even day to day), (2) the seas/currents (ditto), (3) wildlife, (4) sudden equipment malfunctions, (5) your attitude, (6) your or your body’s reaction to any of the foregoing. Everything that was WITHIN their control was handled with the most professionalism and customer care. Take some motion sickness medicine as a precaution. If you still get sick, sorry. That’s life. Hopefully you have some idea already of your prone to that (having flown 6+ hours to get to Hawaii already and all). But they’ll do everything they can for that not to happen and for you to remain as comfortable as possible. We also hung around town a little and heard some other boat groups get their cruise instructions. I think Kauai Sea Tours was the best in my opinion.

We had a blast! WARNING-if you are even slightly prone to motion sickness take Dramamine. It will make a difference in how much you enjoy the trip. Having said that Greg and crew were top notch. The scenery is stunning. The snorkeling was good. Swam with turtles and colorful fish!!!
