    Seeing where the locals go for swimming and eating. I had the best banana bread and chocolate. The vegan ice cream was fantastic. We were told all about the vegetation. Chris was very knowledgeable on everything around us people,places and things. Way to go to Hana!!

    This Road to Hana tour was incredible! Melissa, our guide, was absolutely amazing and truly felt like ohana (family). She was friendly, knowledgeable, and insightful. Her passion for Maui - its cultures, values, and people - shone through. Melissa honored Maui at each stop by picking up plastic, teaching us about the island's history, and explaining how we can help protect its environment and creatures. We visited stunning beaches, waterfalls, and viewpoints, and Melissa introduced us to some unforgettable Maui residents, including Chanel the pig (who definitely stole my heart!). We enjoyed delicious Thai food and the best banana bread ever, leaving with full bellies and even fuller hearts. I truly hope we can stay in touch with Melissa. Spending the day with her on the Road to Hana was one of the highlights of our trip!

    Gene was the best driver and was concerned that we see all the things we desired . He shared knowledgeable facts about the island and he was friendly, and courteous throughout the whole day. He was the best and helped make our day enjoyable ! We would highly recommend him to anyone thinking about booking a tour😀 it will be a favorite memory of ours!

    Eugene was a great guide/driver! We experienced sunbathing sea turtles, famous Hana warm banana bread, ate lunch along the ocean, hung out at a beautiful beach and watched the surfers and ended with swimming in a waterfall pool! The flora and fauna and multiple stunning views were icing on the cake. Eugene was super friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a great day!!

    Road to Hana with Shayne

    The Road to Hana tour was the highlight of our trip to Maui. The sights and sounds almost felt like being in a dreamworld and was a five star rating all by its natural beauty but we would give a sixth star (if we could) because of our guide, Shayne. We were traveling with two kids (ages 6 & 8) and the older having really bad car sickness. We followed the recommended steps to prepare for this but Shayne really made us feel comfortable and was very thoughtful and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout (the very) curvy car ride to Hana. If you can request a driver for your tour, I can’t recommend Shayne enough. He’s a genuinely nice guy and has a ton of interesting knowledge about the island and culture to keep you very entertained throughout the day. All-in-all, my family had a blast and we took a ton of pictures and shared a lot of life memories together on this tour. We highly suggest people visiting the island of Maui to do this tour.

    Matt took good care of us, family of 4. We got to enjoy the sights and food along the road to Hana. Matt was a great guide and helpful with the kiddos and pleasure to spend the day with. Matt looked out for us while making great memories; glad we did the tour; overall a great experience. My daughter is in a wheelchair and it was easy enough to take her along and have her see everything she wanted. Highly recommend the tour and hopefully Matt can be your guide.

    Waterfalls, waterfalls, waterfalls - was amazing! The stops at the black & red sand beaches were amazing, we seen the most incredible turtles, trees… Our guide Matt was amazing, his stories and knowledge of the island &!road to Hana was helpful. His driving was great on the windy roads & bridges!

    This was our first time to Maui and everyone who’d been before us said to book a private Road to Hana tour. When we found this group, it seemed pretty expensive for 2 adults and 4 kids, but we took the advice and we are so glad we did! Koby was a wonderful tour guide. He was patient with our kids, catered the whole trip to us and truly showed us “off the beaten path” places that (based on the fact we were often the only people there) were truly special, “locals only” spots. We stopped at a black sand beach, gorgeous waterfall we could swim in - and we were the only was there on a busy Saturday, red sand beach and multiple little spots along the way for fresh fruit and snacks. The day was wonderful and an exclamation point to our 5 days on the island.

    It was just ok. He was a good driver but could you could tell he really didn’t want to be there. I’ve been on multiple private tours in Europe, Costa Rica, Mexico and they were a ton better. I always try and book the more expensive private tours and research reviews. I figure you get what you pay for. This was more like a $600 tour, definitely not a $1200-$1300 tour. There were four of us. The vehicle was good-Yukon. Bring your own cooler. The cooler was a flimsy lunch box type that didn’t have ice. We had to stop and get ice. There were 6 waters for the whole day and there was soda but it was hot because there wasn’t any room in the cooler. The guide has only lived in Maui two years. He had a lot of knowledge about plants but I felt we had to prompt him for information. Really nice young man though. Very polite. I expected more from previous ratings I read. If I could do it again, we would not have booked this tour.

    Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your tour. While the vast majority of our reviews are outstanding, every one of them is important to us for maintaining our quality assurance. It sounds as if your day certainly did not meet either your or our usual standards. Each SUV should have a *large* cooler filled with ice, water, local Hawaiian drinks, (we will provide soda on request but its not part of our usual mix of drinks), snacks etc. We also take great pride in paying our guides very well so they can afford to live here on Maui (the guide's salary is far and away the biggest part of your tour fee), so we apologize if your guide wasn't up to our usual standards. Please get a hold of us directly through the phone number on the web site. We would like to know more about your day so we can see where we need to improve and how to make things right.     Our driver, Shayne, was great, a wealth of information. He was so personable and great to have as our guide. Seeing the waterfalls, climbing through a lava tube. lunch at Huli Huli Chicken was delicious.

    Our tour guide Shayne was the absolute best. His knowledge, energy, enthusiasm were amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. This was a perfect experience for our family. My parents are elderly and have some limitations in terms of how much they can hike and so having a tour tailored to our interest and capabilities were great. Shayne was able to show us all of the key spots, stop for fruits, foods, look outs, waterfalls, farms, gardens, etc. We ended up spending the full day together and it felt like just a few hours. His impeccable and smooth driving around the harsh turns of Hana, with mudslide risks and many single-lane two-way bridges was something we wouldn't have been able to handle. Also didn't have any motion sickness which can be rare for our family. HIGHLY recommend this tour, ask for Shayne if you can.

We know how to curate a day full of adrenaline or a more serene day just appreciating the beauty of Maui. BTW, a driver experienced with the road to Hana and a luxury SUV with frequent stops really makes a difference with motion sickness, right?
