I have been diving on and off for over 40 years and Kevin was far and away the best instructor I have ever had. My stepdaughter and her bestie was apprehensive about diving and Kevin to all fears away before we entered the water. He was informative and confident in his pre dive presentation. I highly recommend this experience for any diver no matter what experience or expectations you have.

Kevin was absolutely fantastic. My wife was terrified to try scuba diving, but he was very patient and helped her throughout. This was an experience we will cherish forever. We hope to do it again some day.

Shayne was wonderful, so much fun and so comforting for us getting started. Scuba diving is just such an amazing experience, we got to see sharks for the first time ever and sea turtles from underneath. The one thing I will say is that the first dive is basically just an introduction to how the gear works, you're around a small reef and see beautiful fish but it doesn't feel that different than snorkeling. Would highly recommend the second dive as well, because that's where you actually get to start seeing some amazing stuff!

I’ve been subs diving a few times, but this was the best experience for me. We did two dives that day. The first dive was easy for beginners. The second dive was a little harder to navigate, but it was amazing! Michael was THE BEST TEACHER.

Jen was awesome ans so sweet,kind and patient with us!! she took us out and actually had us pose for pics and took a lot of them too (which by the way great quality! ) If I ever go back to maui again id go out with her again!!

Our teacher, Jen, was AMAZING! I'm glad I let my teenage son do this! He fell in love with the ocean and with diving, thanks to Jen and her guidance. Everything about the experince was fantastic for him. He wanted to go get Padi certified as soon as he got out of the ocean 🤣 I didn't get to go due to health reasons, so I highly recommend going to the Banyan Tree Divers website to look over the medical form before going. Otherwise, you won't get a copy of it until the night before, which is too late to cancel via Viator's policies. If you're in good health and are wondering whether or not to go, I would encourage you to give it a try!! It was an amazing experience and worth every penny to see my son so enthusiastic and excited! Of all the things we did on Maui, this was his favorite!

We are so glad that his time diving with Jen was a memorable experience. We regret that you were unable to join him. We provide all of the medical information in the Viator listing but sometimes it goes unnoticed, and it's not fun when we have to enforce those rules. Thank you for being so understanding of the importance of safety and we are delighted that just seeing your son take to diving so beautifully was worth it. We hope he keeps diving!

Me and my kids had an awesome time with our instructor Shane! He explained well in detail on how to properly use all the scuba diving gear and made sure everyone was safe and felt comfortable using it in the water! I recommend scuba diving with this company they are amazing!!

I had an amazing experience during my first scuba dive! The intructor, Dave, was so informative and made you feel super safe and comfortable with the equipment and the environment. He was patient and worked with the needs of everyone while still giving everyone the experience based off of their own comfort zone! We saw turtles, fish, and so much reef! I was tempted to do the second dive but had plans already. I absolutely recommend!

We had a great experience diving. We did two consecutive dives where we dint see anything much and during our second dive we saw a lot of turtles and also 2 reef sharks. It was a wonderful experience. Slightly expensive but was worth it. We paid around 80$ for photos for both dives combined. It was my fiance's first time diving and I'm a certified open water diver. Scuba diving is definitely an experience worth trying. Highly recommend it.

A whole new world! But we become the mermaids…

So we are first time scuba divers and let me tell you. 10/10 would recommend!! Tippy toppers and primo deli meats! It was definitely one of the best parts of our trip here in Maui. The sights and the experience was unmatched. Abi our instructor was just a delight! So professional and descriptive, she told us exactly what we needed to know and how to handle ourselves in the vast and unforgiving ocean. I was nervous at first but all those thoughts were dashed after just one hour of instruction and proper prompting from Abi. Definitely something we will not forget in this life time! Thank you guys for showing us a world we may have never been privy to! To all who doubt, just remember if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a turtle!

Fantastic first-time scuba experience

We could not have had a better experience! Shane was a fantastic instructor and guide. As this was our first time diving, we were a bit nervous. Shane took the time to explain the gear, its functionality, and the physics behind diving/buoyancy which made a huge difference once we were in the water. The first dive was a great learning experience where we practiced our movement in the water while exploring shallow reefs. If you have the time, the second dive is an absolute must! It is deeper and more challenging, but the views are incredible. I lost count after a dozen turles, and we even saw a pair of white tip reef sharks. 110% recommend!
