Mark was an excellent guide. As a local he had a ton of great information to share. This was my third time traveling the road to Hana and by far the most enjoyable. I would do it again!
Best Tour ever

Wow, we had an amazing time during our private tour. Family of 5 ages 10-41. We felt safe driving with our guide, stopping for banana bread, Ice cream in the side of the road, Hulu Hulu chicken, swimming in hidden waterfalls, climbing into random holes in the ground that were so beautiful. Only way to do the tour was with the company and their Maui natives.

This tour was wonderful! Our tour guide Jay did an excellent job of describing all of the places that we got to see. It was definitely the highlight of our trip and well worth the money. We were picked up promptly in the morning by Jay in an air conditioned SUV at our condo. It was so nice to have a private tour. Each place that we stopped at was better than the next. We went to waterfalls, the black sand beach and saw many turtles. there are too many places to mention! We loved the banana bread at Aunt Sandy's. This was a day we will never forget and I highly recommend Hawaii by Storm!

hi Don’t normally leave reviews but want to this time as I messed the days up. When the call came for pickup I explained. The management called us immediately and said don’t panic. We worked out the best way forward - which in this case was to have the driver (Luke) wait for us, although other days were an option. Fantastic service - very reassuring to know i was not going to forfeit a considerable amount of money. Luke our driver when we finally arrived 40 minutes late for our pickup spot was all smiles. Great conversation, deep knowledge of the island and an easy going style you would expect from someone who has been on Maui for 17 years. What an interesting and beautiful tour creating a wonderful day for my family and I on what could have been a disastrous start to our vacation. Thanks Luke, Chris and management for making this happen. Andy
Enjoyable Road to Hana Tour with Private guide

Reading all the trip advisor reviews about the road to Hana and whether to drive yourself, go with a group, or hire a private guide, we opted for the private guide, which did not disappoint. Our guide (Dustyn) texted us the night before and confirmed a 6:30 am pickup time. He picked us up in a new Ford Expedition at our hotel and drove about an hour to a local grocery store to pick up breakfast, coffee, and Dramamine. Our guide had a plan that started with a few smaller photo op stops (Bamboo Forest Aunty Sandys, and then stopping at the Tall Waterfall first (Wailua) - to beat the crowd - and then working back - due to the road closure at the time of this review. We opted to stop at Hana Farms Pizza and Oven Bakery and loved it. I know - you can get pizza anywhere, but it was great pizza and the restaurant is very clean and nice sitting area. Overall, great time and our guide Dustyn was incredible. Having grown up on the island, he knew a lot of the culture and history that made long car ride go by quickly. Tips: - Bring your swimsuit and hotel towels - Take the Dramamine - even if you're a person who does not get car sick - Bring sandals or water shoes - to hike to waterfalls - Grocery Store has a Starbucks - order ahead to beat the line of other tourists - Aunty Sandy's Warm Banana Bread was the best we had while in Hawaii - Hana Farms Roadside Pizza

Makona was one of the private tour guides ever. I would do it all over again tomorrow…,it was that amazing!!! So much beauty and serenity. Makona made it very special with his local stories, history and personal touches. I can not say this enough….request him, you will not retreat it!! Until next time…..Mahalo!!!!

so many fantastic views and the running commentary by Jay was terrific. he also took the time to get to know us a bit and was able to fit his tour to our likes. the "secret spots" that Jay knew and his easy going character made it a real pleasure.

Makana was an amazing driver. We all loved his stories and understanding of the history and culture that makes this place so magical. The fruit and foods all were amazing. If I would recommend anything is try to keep a good pace or you might miss some really beautiful sights.

Our guide, Kaipo, was excellent! I can’t begin to say enough great things about him! He gave us so much information about the local culture and kept us entertained with great stories. He also got to know us and what we were interested in hearing about and seeing. This was our favorite tour while in Maui made even better due to Kaipo!! We even got to see Kaipo do a cannonball off the one cliff we visited!

Mana was AWESOME! Top tour of our vacation. Very knowledgeable of the area. Not only did you get to do the road to Hana it also felt like a food tour as well. Would highly recommend that you consider doing this tour.. Definitely a 5 star tour. For a family of 5 with kids he kept us entertained and it was nice to have the one on one experience.

If you could only pick one tour to do on your holiday, you should make sure this is it. This was by far our favourite tour of our whole holiday in Hawaii, our tour guide Jay made the day excellent and so much fun. He was very knowledgeable about the the road to Hana and Hawaii as well, and made the day a once in a lifetime experience. Jay tailored the day for what we wanted as it's just us and the tour guide for the whole day. He knew the places to see first to avoid the crowds and was great to chat to all day! We got to see many beautiful views, waterfalls, and natural beauties, and also got to swim in an empty waterfall and see turtles as well! The lunch at Huli Huli chicken and banana bread from the local bakery might be the best chicken and banana bread we have ever had too. The car you get for the day is super luxurious, very spacious and comfortable. It was very clean, and gave each member of us in the car great views of the road to Hana. Overall, we can't recommend the road to Hana with Maui by Storm enough!

Our guide Bill was super knowledgeable and we learned so much about the history of Hawaii, and the local plants. He knew the twists and turns and how to navigate the roads. He knew exactly where to stop so we were able to get great food, see the Black Sands Beach, swim in two waterfalls, see bamboo and sea turtles. All of our family got to see and experience the sites without having to pay attention to driving. It’s the ONLY way to go on The Road To Hana!

Had a great time! Jay was a great guide: knowledgeable, amiable, and a great driver. The sights were breathtaking and the locals are so kind. Surprisingly none of our family’s motion sickness kicked in (thanks, Jay). Enjoyed all the food on the journey - fruits, huli huli chicken, and the banana bread. Loved hearing stories about Hawaiian history. Would absolutely recommend to friends, and plan to be back in the future!
