What To Expect

Your four-day Nile River cruise begins with pickup from the Aswan train station or airport, or any hotel. Travel by air-conditioned vehicle with a trained Egyptologist to the Temple of Philae (only reachable by boat), the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Either travel with a group or upgrade for a private guide. Spend the evening digging into a buffet dinner and settling into your private cabin on the boat.

If you’ve opted for an excursion to the Abu Simbel Temple Complex (additional expense), you’ll depart bright and early, arriving back in Aswan in time to set sail for Kom Ombo. Visit the millennia-old temple during another ground excursion before enjoying the ship’s five-star facilities for a second evening.

Arrive in Luxor on your third day, stopping in Edfu Temple along the way. Visit the Temple of Karnak and Luxor Temple with your guide. Meals and bottled water are included, letting you relax and focus on the sights.

Start your final day with an optional hot-air balloon ride over Luxor (additional expense). Then, complete your journey with Egyptologist-guided tours of the Valley of Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, and Colossi of Memnon.

Feel Cheated with the nile cruise
Manoj_G, Apr 2024
Horrible guide. Room on cruise was bad. Paid 2000 usd for this and the room was like a shady motel. The only bright spot was the cruise staff specially the Mohammed the Manager who were very sweet. I would recommend people to confirm the cruise boat name and pics before doing reservation. @viator very disappointed with this. Feel cheated
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hello Maja, I am sorry to hear that from you, You paid 1800USD for 3 people on 5 star cruise which was a good offer, Also the Ms Bride cruise is a new cruise it just renoveated cruise and first time to get a bad review about it so will take a note now, Also about the guide why you did not contacted us from the first day to cahmge the guide for you, it is the fist bad review about our guides. so If you called us at the begining we was able to change the guide for you..... would like to welcome you again in Egypt to enjoy it and not let us feel you are asking for a refund after you got everything well and done... Thanks Ahmed
Great Experience
keithvaleriegutsell, Apr 2024
The cabin was, was better than we expected. The food was consistently very good. Staff were friendly and attentive. We found the program a good mix and well paced. Tipping is a big deal in Egypt, it would have been helpful to know that you could tip once for all services at the end of the tour.
Incredible experience
Rainer_F, Apr 2024
My 9-year old child and I enjoyed a fabulous time on this Nile cruise onboard of Alhambra for 4D/3N. Thanks to the crew onboard looking after us with a great variety of buffet food, and a lovely clean cabin. The special thanks go to our private tour guide 'Aswany'. He is a very kind and probably one of the best Egyptologists. He found a great mixture of facts of history and life in Egypt today and in ancient times. He is also very experienced for logistics and makes the days exciting while comfortable - highly recommended. Out of 5* that's a 5+. Hopefully we are back soon to dive deeper into Egypt's rich tapestry and local friendliness. It exceeded all expectations. A kind reminder for all tourists: While absorbing the incredible sites, please don't touch the artifacts, nor accept the temptations by local tomb guards to make special photos with flash or off limits - our future generations will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Great Cruise
LuisG_R, Mar 2024
Overall everything was great. The amenities were amazing, the upstairs deck was perfect with a great pool. Our tour guide Amro was very kind and knowledgeable when it came to explaining everything. All the staff were very kind as well.
Great cruise experience!
Cara_Q, Dec 2023
I had a GREAT time on this cruise. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The ship was nice, great roof deck to have tea and watch the Nile go by. My room (I was solo) was very comfortable and clean, bed was super comfy, had a great view of the Nile right outside my window. The food/buffet (breakfast/lunch/dinner) was so good, mostly Egyptian food. The daily day trips to archeological sites were very well organized. My tour guide, Adham, was great - he explained details of the sites well, and left ample time for me to explore on my own. He and the tour guide staff (Mohammed & the drivers) were very nice and - as a woman traveling solo - I never felt unsafe with them even for a moment. TIP: If you can book an individual tour guide on this cruise, I'd recommend it over a group tour. You'll be able to tailor your time to your liking more than you can with a group, definitely worth it. Also, if you can afford to add the Abu Simbel day trip, it's DEFINITELY worth it! The hot air balloon ride option is also great. Overall, I had a beautiful time on this cruise and would definitely recommend it.
A+++ private guide for 3 night Nile cruise
Margaret_S, Dec 2023
Mustafa was our private guide for 3 nights and 4 days while on the Nile Cruise. He is such a patient man. It was very helpful having him accompany us throughout the whole Nile cruise experience. He took us to so many sites and was super patient with us when we veered off the itinerary and wanted to do some shopping. It helped so much having him with us when we were being haggled by the street vendors. He is very honest and knowledgeable about ancient Egyptian history. We packed in so many excursions while with him. I highly recommend having Mustafa as your private guide while visiting Egypt.
Really good trip!
YIQIAN_S, Nov 2023
Every staff on board is really nice. The food is really nice. Our guide is really nice. The whole trip is really nice!!! I’m so glad I booked this trip with this company and this boat.
Amr is an amazing guide...plus a few tips to prepare for a Nile cruise experience.
Joshua_L, May 2023
To start with: level-set your expectations. I have been on multiple five-star Nile River cruises and none of them are the same five star that you can expect on-land. I like to think of it as over-glorified camping. Once you accept that, and prepare yourself accordingly, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see some of the richest historical sites in the world. Remember, this a smaller river cruise ship...not a giant ocean liner. The cruise line will be adequate. It will be clean, have a sun deck and a working small bathroom. The staff will generally be friendly and attentive. Don't expect too much more. It's a clean place to sleep. At the end of the day, you will be so busy with activities and seeing the sites, that you won't really be spending all that much time on the boat, but for maybe an afternoon while in transit/sailing. The food will leave something to be desired. It's not inedible or unclean, but it's certainly not gourmet. It's a buffet. For us, the biggest negative was the other passengers during mealtime. They were pushing, shoving, and generally rude as soon as the meal time hit. This creates an arms race of people grabbing heaps of the good food because they didn't want to have to brave the buffet line twice. Honestly, my spouse and I felt like we were farm animals feeding from a trough because of this. We tried showing up later in the meal time, and got attitude from the staff (unacceptable). The meal services staff arbitrarily decides where you sit, which is common on any cruise as they want to keep people who booked with certain companies and speak certain languages together. Our issue was that they kept changing where they wanted us to sit...they even asked us to move arbitrarily after we sat down with our food from the same table we had sat at before to another table when we were there at the end of the meal time and nearly all the tables were empty. We didn't want to be 'those guys', but we picked up McDonald's and ate it in our cabin in peace for one meal because we simply didn't want to deal with the buffet onboard. At the end of the cruise, the meal services director asked us to fill out a survey (which was only available in French). We filled it out and did not put our names, wanting to remain anonymous in the spirit of an accurate survey. The meal service director gave us attitude AGAIN for that. You will have an exhausting experience. Your wake-ups will be 0430 or earlier and the days will be long...there is TONS to see and do. But, it is an amazingly rewarding and enriching experience to see the sites. Trust me on this, you do not want to opt out of anything during this cruise and it is absolutely worth the lack of sleep for a few days. The absolute highlight of our experience was our guide, Amr. His passion for Ancient Egypt is contagious. To be honest, by the end of this kind of cruise, all of the temples and tombs tend to start blending together a bit...kind of variations on a theme. That and the lack of sleep can make it difficult to get excited about the sites sometimes. Amr kept us excited and attentive throughout...he was excited, piqued our curiosity, and answered our questions throughout. His love of Ancient Egypt and his ability to 'nerd out' (in the best way possible) and go off on tangents about all things Ancient Egypt absolutely made the trip for us. Remember, this is an educational experience...expect this to be like an interactive history lesson in the actual historical sites. If you are not expecting this, this kind of a cruise may not be for you. Your tour guide will ultimately be the biggest variable in your experience. Your group's relationship with your guide should be a two-way street. Given that, Amr adapted and changed the itinerary for us based on our interests and desires. Amr was super kind to us, really showing us the famous Egyptian Hospitality at its finest...he even went the extra mile to come with us to the airport at the end when we were running late to make sure we didn't miss our flight. If you are lucky enough to get Amr as your guide, I promise you that you will have an amazing cruise...he made the grin-and-bear-it elements mentioned above more than worth it. In summation, go into this cruise prepared both mentally and physically. Your guide and your own mindset will determine your level of enjoyment. And ask for Amr as your guide!

I did not get the cruise I selected and paid for. There was supposed to be belly dancing as entertainment. There was no entertainment at all! I purposely chose not to go to a belly dance show off ship because there was supposed to be a performance on ship. So I missed that opportunity. My guide even seemed puzzled about the lack of the entertainment. The food was awful and very little to no Egyptian food offered. What Egyptian food offered was bland. Thank goodness I had traveled a week by myself without a tour group before the cruise or else I would have missed all the incredible food there is to eat in Egypt! It is amazing food! Some of the best street and local food there is! I paid extra money to have a cabin to myself and was stuck in a grungy room that smelled like diesel fuel the whole time. I had headaches the whole time on board. I got sick partly due to the smell and could not get hot water for a mint tea packet I had to ease my stomach nausea because hot water for drinking was only available during meal times in the dining room. The only good thing about the cruise was my guide and drivers. Because I paid to have a private room, I got my own guide, who was the same the whole trip. This meant I had my own driver at each stop & excursion along the way. My guide and drivers were amazing. It was wonderful to get to know them. This also allowed me to spend more time at the sites and have a personalized tour based on my interests, which is not usually the same as others because I am not the typical touristy traveler. If I ever get to return to Egypt, I would probably try a felucca or just travel by train and hire a guide & driver for the side trips separately if not part of the felucca reservation.

Hi, We are sorry to hear that from you, First let me answer you about the cruise as you booked 5 star deluxe cruise and you were on Ms Concerto 5 star deluxe Nile cruise as it is one of the best cruise on the nile, again sorry to hear that from you right now after a month as you did not contacted us or your guide at the same time to check the possibility to move you to another cruise if you do not like the cruise you paid for, Secondly you got the best service and the cruise you paid for my dear. we are waiting you to be back again to our beloved Egypt, Thanks Mohamed
Completely recommend!
Steff_R, Apr 2023
Book your nile cruise with Egypt Unlimited Tours - everything about this trip blew our minds. Definitely spend the little bit extra on a private tour, Mustafa was our guide and he was so excellent and knowledgeable. The popular places like Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple and Luxor was amazing, but it was the smaller sites like Philae Temple where we didn't know what to expect that were our favourites. The schedule was packed, but we did everything including the optional extras which were so special and even got some relaxing time on the ship to rest. We were on board the Nile Paradise, which was a fantastic cruise ship where the staff were so friendly and helpful; our room was so lovely with a little balcony, and the sundeck with pool was much appreciated on the hot afternoons. The cruise ship food was the best I've ever had on a cruise ship or at an all inclusive.
Egypt in 3 nights/4 days!
Karen_E, Mar 2023
While seeing Egypt would take a lifetime (or more), this trip was an unbelievably fun and educational introduction. I traveled with two friends of 50 years and we had a blast! Our guide, Ahmed, picked us up at our Aswan hotel at 8am on the first day and was our private guide for the entire trip. He was fantastic! I know some about Egyptian history but every day I learned a lot. Besides being knowledgeable about the history of Egypt, he did everything in his power to ease our way. He constantly checked with us about our needs and preferences and thought in advance what would make the trip easier for us. The drivers were always pleasant and prompt. Driving in Egypt is a challenge but we arrived safely to each destination! The cruise itself may be the best value I’ve ever encountered. The food was good, the cabins comfortable and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. After the cruise landed in Luxor, check-out was 8am (when Ahmed took us to the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut) but our flight didn’t leave until after 9pm. The ship allowed us to store out luggage and hang out all afternoon in the lounge and sundeck. This was a great, great trip! Bring a lot of tip money since there are so many people helping you out but, still, best deal on the planet for experiences that have been on my buckets list for a long, long time!
Fantastic crew, great rooms, delectable food
Jana_B, Feb 2023
Wow! The crew on Medea was outstanding! Manager of the ship Mohamed and Food Manager Sayed are fantastic! Everyone is happy, service is great! Food is great! A lot vegetarian and vegan options. Private guides with private cars option is wonderful. Rooms are very comfortable! Feels like we are one big family. Great sites visited! Highly recommend it!
Eslam was the BEST! He made it perfect!!
Azra_B, Jan 2023
My parents and I took a Nile Cruise tour in Egypt and it was an incredible experience. Our tour guide, Eslam, was hands down the best part of the trip. He was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and easy to be around. His great communication skills (almost flawless English) made the tour even more enjoyable. Not only was he a great guide, but the staff on the cruise boat were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The tour included many stops, and we were able to see everything we wanted to (definitely go-go-go but worth it). Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have Eslam as your tour guide, he truly made the trip unforgettable!!!
10/10
Shaylyn_L, Jan 2023
I had an absolute blast. The staff was SO friendly, the food was actually really amazing, and the people were great that we sat with at our table. I was really impressed with the organization. If you're from the US, just keep in mind this won't be as "cruise like" as other cruises you might take from the US, but that's what makes this special and unique. We had the same guide, Mustafa, the whole time and also worked with Ahmed and both were awesome.
Fun in the sun on the Nile
Jon_S, Jan 2023
My family - 2 adults, 1 teen really enjoyed the Nile cruise. The boarding process was smooth, Ample room on board so we never felt crowded. Tea in the afternoon on the upper outside deck was fun. My wife and daughter had a massage while on board and said it was one of the better they have had. The food was good enough - not Egyptian but well prepared and plenty of it. Our cabin was spacious however we did have an issue with cigarette smoke/smell from one of our neighbors coming into our cabin.
UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE
MiguelAngel_C, Jan 2023
Wonderful trip, great cruise, delicious food on board, the places we visit were awsome, but the one who made this Experience the greatest in our trip around Egypt was our guide Mustafa , great knowlegde of the egypt culture , perfect english, he knew how to explain everything until it is understood , he solved our questions, and Helped all the group with instructions yo continue our trip
Wonderful
Jodie_L, Jan 2023
Absolutely perfect. Cruise was clean and comfortable, with good food and helpful staff, and great itinerary with the right balance of sightseeing and cruising. The real star of course was our guide Mustafa. Mustafa is so knowledgeable, interesting and friendly, we never felt rushed and he always looked out for us. I absolutely recommend him. Thank you!
Brilliant guide and cruise!
Anusha_H, Jan 2023
The cruise was a luxurious way of travelling from Aswan to Luxor. Food was good, staff were considerate and rooms were comfortable. Throughout the cruise, we had our personal tour guide, Mostafa Hashem who was just brilliant! He was knowledgeable and patient. He engaged well with our 2 boys (aged 5 and 6 years) and gave them lots of interesting facts on Egyptian history and they loved having him as our guide. Mostafa was kind, thoughtful, accommodating and our first Nubian friend! We highly recommend him and look forward to returning to Egypt
Great tour, but many buts
MichaelHerrmann, Dec 2022
I had a fantastic experience and a very good guide. Unfortunately I forgot his name. Cruising the nile was a wonderful experience, and the tours we made were very good. Just a few things that can be improved, which all concern the organization of the boat and not my guide: 1. It is not nice that at check-in you have to leave your passport at the reception and they give it back after dinner, because they say they need time for the computer and copy work. There are many tourists and it is not a good feeling that, if your passport gets lost, you have a big problem in this country with it's many passport controls. 2. It is not good that the boat often changes position while in the harbor place. So, if you are on your own, maybe because you went on your own, it is very difficult to find your boat again. They say that they won't leave before everyone is back, but more communication on board would be helpful. 3. Unfortunately the nights on the boat are without good view. The boats stay at night on harbor places with many boats next to each other, so you only see the old (but friendly) couple some centimeters away from your window in their room. 4. I had thought to spend more time in daylight cruising through the nile. I booked 3 nights and 4 days on board, but actually, it was only around 2 hours on day 2 and (best day) many hours on day 3 that I could enjoy what I most liked: Standing on the sun deck, watching this amazing landscape passing by. On day 2,we lost almost 2 hours because we had to wait some tourists who arrived late from a tour. So, we lost 2 hours in day light. I think the boat organizers should consider more the fact that the hours in daylight cruising are the most important ones for most travellers. 5. Most staff at boat were very friendly, except the ones at reception. They were not unfriendly, but distanced and only helping if you asked 2 or 3 times again.
Wonderful and Memorable Experience
meetmk88, Nov 2022
The cruise boat we got was Radamis. The entire tour - cruise, guide, car, driver, tour company, hot air balloon, everything turned out awesome. Memorable experience for our wedding anniversary trip. We were able to include optional tours with this cruise schedule. Though our train from Cairo arrived very late in the noon on the first day, the tour company managed to reschedule the itinerary and cover the places as much as possible. On time pickup and scheduled visits without any delay anywhere. Guide was very helpful, informative.
