Our guide Hady made our trip amazing!!
Satoshi_K, Apr 2024
If I didn't sigh up for this tour, I am sure I was not able to see all those historical sites. Out guide Hady was really amazing guide. He had enormous amount of knowledge in Egyptian history, and he was incredibly good with numbers. He know every years of all important Egyptian history. Also Hady was a man who you could trust, and he will watch out every guest's back and, and he made our trip so enjoyable. I liked this tour so much, now I want to bring my wife, and my parents to this same trip. I really hope next time when we came, we get again Hady as our guide. Thank you Hady.

Beautiful sceneries with magnificent historical sites. The tour guide Hady and operator Hany are very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend them to my friends.
Nile cruise - as good as it gets.
Christopher_P, Mar 2024
We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this tour and would highly recommend it. The boat was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. ALL of the staff were welcoming and very friendly. They went out of their way to make our holiday as memorable as possible. The itinerary was jam packed and all ran smoothly thanks to Mohammed our excellent tour guide. The excursions (temple visits and balloon flight) were the highlights. Mohammed brought the history of the Pharoahs and the ancient sites to life with his knowledge and expertise. We gelled with the other members of our group thanks to Mohammed's hard work and his ability to read the individual needs of the group. This couldn't have been easy as we were a mixed language group. Thank you all for such a wonderful holiday.
Amazing!

Ask for Hady as your tour guide—he made the trip! He is very knowledgeable and has a genuine care for others. This tour overall is an amazing value for the money. The trip was well organized. The food was good. The staff, especially the kitchen staff, were polite, respectful and attentive to our every need. If you come with an open mind to embrace Egyptian culture and history, you’ll have a wonderful time.
A brilliant way & fantastic value to see many of the best sites in Egypt.
Joe_A, Feb 2024
As soon as I booked Hany messaged me on WhatsApp to explain the itinerary & arrange the hotel pickup on the first day which was reassuring. Mahmoud was our tour guide & he was great at detailing all the facts about the temples we visited. He was also good at connecting the pieces we visited from previous sites so we could understand how things related. We wouldn’t have learnt as much without him there. He would usually take us around the site to explain the main pieces & then leave some time for personal pictures & exploration afterwards. He was also very calm, warm & passionate. I felt very reassured & comfortable when he was around. The schedule is packed with early morning starts (between 4am-5:30am) every day but this is mainly due to the boat sailing schedule. Most of the sites when we visited were busy as the thousands of people from all the other boats arrived & left around the same time but this didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. The boat We were nervous as we didn’t know which boat we would be on when we booked but we ended up on the M/S Princess Sarah. Although it didn’t look very nice from the outside, we were pleasantly surprised with the room which had been updated a few years ago, had floor to ceiling windows perfect for watching the scenery & was very quiet and no smell of fumes (we were in a mid-ship cabin so not sure if that helped). The food on board was plentiful & had lots of options served as a buffet for all meals. Again, I was pleasantly surprised at the options & quality. The staff were genuinely all very nice. They always smiled, welcomed you back, remembered your favourite drinks. There was no hard selling of anything on the boat (which we’d heard about on other boats before we booked). Additional costs: Compared to European cruises (where everything is extra), this tour really did include most things. The only things not included were clearly explained in the tour detail before we booked. Tickets to sites are not included & when I visited (February ‘24) these were 3825EGP ($125USD) per person. We paid this amount in cash at the beginning to our guide so tickets were pre-purchased & we skipped the ticket office queues at all locations. Tips are also not included. Mahmoud told us when & how much he recommended to tip. Though this isn’t mandatory I think it’s right to do so, wages are very low in Egypt & staff clearly rely on these to top up their wages. In total, we spent about 600EGP ($20USD) on tips per person. I think it’s important you see these tips as part of the cost as staff rely on this money. Drinks on the cruise aren’t included but reasonable. A coffee or a coke was around 500EGP ($2USD) and a small beer 108EGP ($3.50USD). Overall I would highly recommend this trip. The peace of mind that I could book with Viator, the good reviews & knowing what to expect led me to booking it & I’m so glad I did. And Egypt really lived up to my expectations, the history is incredible.

Complete Package from Aswan to Luxor
Mahin_I, Feb 2024
the total cost per person will be 500 USD because each individual will need 123 USD for all the entrance tickers. Ticket fees needed to be paid in cash to the guide on the first day. Our guide, Mr Hadi, was quite knowledgeable & his English speaking was sufficient to understand properly The boat was good enough with excellent food. But the breakfast packets of the boat which will be given to Abu Simble excursion should be updated. At least eggs must be given & not 4 pieces of bread. Last day lunch could also be provided because we took out bags from the boat at around 3.30 PM. All in all quite sufficient to see all the attractions & you will get enough time unless you are a nerd because, in that case, 1 hour is needed for 1 site minimum. We gate on average 40 minutes to each historical attraction. We are satisfied with the boat & with our guide.
A dream trip, with a special tour Guide ,thanks Haddy

The best way to see the highlights of Upper Egypt
Jem_L, Feb 2024
This is the best way to see all the major highlights of Upper Egypt. Honestly this cruise is such great value and everything went well for us, we were picked up from Aswan airport and driven to the docks on the Nile where we boarded Princess Sarah cruise ship, her interior was well kept, rooms and toilet were clean, modern, and bed was comfy. There’s also a sun deck to relax, though we spent more time taking in the sights of the cruise from our room; the windows open and you can lie in bed watching the banks of the Nile pass by. The crew went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, serving delicious food 3x a day and cleaning the rooms daily. Drinks are not included, but it was comparable to any restaurant in Egypt so we didn’t mind paying. The visits to temples, Valley of Kings and hot air balloon ride over Luxor were amazing, as was the cruising down the Nile. The only downside of such a packed itinerary is the early mornings (think 4-5am call times!), with limited time (max 2 hrs) to cover each temple or site. Plus we visited the sites alongside >20 other cruise ships full of tourists so it got very crowded especially at the smaller temples. If you prefer going at your own pace without the tourist crowds then this cruise is not for you. Tipping is done on the last day, please be generous as the crew works really hard to keep the ship running and make the journey pleasant. Overall I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone who wishes to see the major attractions in Upper Egypt affordably, and within a short time.
do it once before you die, but dont put it at the top of your list.
Andrew_R, Feb 2024
The cruise ship was old and worn out with many faults, the cabin we stayed in was very compact but clean. The staff were excellent and they did the best they could with what they have. We knew what we going to (its egypt we know) we are realistic travellers that have travelled the world. Drinks onboard are expensive so please buy them before you board or definitely take your dutyfree.. We wanted to see the nile and the temples along it but now that we have done it we will never return.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Hello Andrew , First this review is very complicated we accommodate you to La Fayan Nile cruise which is ultra deluxe cruise it was upgraded and our guide was the best guide in Imperial Egypt Hady and no one complaint about him . Finally we finished invistating the guide and he mentioned that he was asking every day about about everything and you never mentioned anythings. The only complaint about the boat which is we can't believe it la fayan more expencive than ordinary cruise Andrew Anyway thank you so much for your review
Wonderful Experience with a Terrible Guide
Dustin_O, Jan 2024
I booked a four day cruise on the MS Sarah from Aswan to Luxor four eight individuals in four cabins. It was a wonderful experience, but we had a terrible guide. Our cruise included a lot of the day trips and transportation. This included the day trip to Abu Simbal, and also included the hot air balloon ride. Our guide, however, was not very good. He wasn't very good at organizing a group and coordinating everybody. I was expecting that we would have one guide for our group of eight people. Instead, we had one guide with three or four other families. I think we were about 20+ people total with one guide. Needless to say, our guide (Mustafa), wasn't very exciting. He was kind and friendly, but was the most disappointing thing in out trip. We later booked a different guide while in Cairo for a tour of Giza. Oh wow! What a difference a great guide makes! Make sure if you book this tour in the future, you get a different , or fly one in from Cairo. It will make a huge difference in learning about the history you will see. Unfortunately we didn't learn much from our guide. He was just lackluster. Apart from that, the food on the MS Sarah was great. No complaints. We enjoyed our time on the ship. The service was good. I read many reviews before booking this trip, and felt we lucked out, as everything was great except for the guide.
Great Tour guide, Mr. Hady!
Toshio_G, Jan 2024
Throughout Cruise, the tour guide, Mr. Hady, acted main role to make the tour to be super fun and knowledgeable for Egyptian history and all visiting sites. surely he created super additional value to that fantastic cruise... we will be back to Egypt for sure... tks!!! Goto
Fast paced amazing experience with Hady
Andrew_J, Dec 2023
Great way to experience lots of sites! The drive to Abu Simbel is long but it is well worth it. Make sure you ask for Hady to be your guide, he was exceptional and is fluent in English. Hady had all our tickets and passes ready in advance and was happy to accommodate all of our requests and needs throughout the trip. The boat was nice, you get your money's worth. The food is good but can get a little repetitive.
Look for another option, this one was high cost based on what I got
ALEXANDER_T, Dec 2023
The cruise itself seemed a bit dated and in need of refurbishment. Upon arrival, we encountered dust in our room, and the bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired. However, the room's size was satisfactory. Service quality appeared to depend heavily on tipping. If you were generous with tips, the service was better; otherwise, it tended to be minimal. The constant sales pitches were a bit overwhelming. From onboard shops to waitresses pushing drinks at the restaurant and photographers attempting to sell photos daily, there was a constant push to spend more. The cruise's packed itinerary had its pros and cons. On the plus side, it allowed us to visit many places. On the downside, it could be exhausting. The mandatory tipping was frustrating, with the guide dictating when and how much to pay for various services. This extra cost added up quickly. The tour's stops at commission-driven places like the "Perfume Museum" and "Gift Shop Museum" with inflated prices felt more like scams than genuine attractions. Our guide, Mohamed, had a decent English level (around 8 out of 10), but it fell short of our expectations for a more fluent guide. Non-native English speakers may find it challenging to understand explanations.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you Alexander for your kind review. After investigating with the guide, the following became clear. Initially, you did not complain about the room to the guide or the boat, knowing that the guide asked all the clients about the rooms and the boat without any comment from you. Gratuities in Egypt are a traditional thing, especially in the field of tourism. Knowing that at the end of the trip, you did not pay the guide’s gratuity, which is He did not mention anything to you that you did not pay. But he was upset with your treatment with clients when the client was asking to pay in dollars and you asked that the clients pay you in dollars and you gave the money in Egyptian to benefit from the currency for your party.
Excellent

Tour guide mahmoud was great n knowledgeable. Very dynamic and helpful. Highly recommended. The cruise ship , food is excellent.
It was good but hectic
Devanshi_P, Nov 2023
It was good overall. The hot air balloon got canceled last minute. We woke up early, checked out at 6 am, took a bus and then sat in the boat, which was supposed to take us across the river to where the hot air balloons were but we just kept sitting in the boat for almost an hour. We saw the hot air balloons go up and finally we were taken to the site where we again waited for almost an hour only to be told that it was not happening. The whole time there were no clear answers given to us. Then we were taken to a restaurant where we again waited for about half hour for our guide to get there. It was already around 10-11am by then we could have used that time to see something else. Everyone was a little frustrated and annoyed by then. Another thing was that I had carried a big bag with me since we had to check out at 6am for the hot air balloon and I had asked the guide if we would be in the same van all day and he said yes but we ended up changing the van 3 times and I had to carry my bag from one vehicle to another... Not a fun experience... Some of the things are not included such as tomb of seti and ramses 5&6 which are spectacular. I also found it weird that our guide took the tip money for our porters... Not sure if it actually got to them or not.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Hey dear Davanshi ,,I wish you are doing well ,,, it was honor for us to be ur local agent in Egypt ,,, the whole case has been investigated by our representatives ,,, first of all concerning the hot air balloon ,,safety comes first ,at that day it was so windy and the hot air balloon company was wishing to come down ,,, second we talked to the guide who was wondering what do u mean that u were waiting for the guide for half hour ,and he said he was with the group all the time and lunch was after 13 oclock ,it was after valley of kings and hatschpsuit temple and colossi of memnoon ,how come he would finish all theses stops by 10 or 11 ,,, Seti tomb is extra charge and it was optional to buy the ticket at valley of kings ,,, the porters were expecting 25 egyptian pound or 1 USD and he was given the money infront of every body ,he was helping every one bcz of the change . Concern the tipping for the porters ,guide said he would bring ur luggage with him to the west bank to help you to save ur time otherwise you would have returned back to the boat to collect ur luggage ,,but to help you ,he asked you to go enjoy ur balloon and he would take care of ur luggage that is why you sent him a photo of ur luggage via whatsapp,,,and do u remember how much you gave for the porter?????guide will not scam the guests for 25 egyptian pounds and this is the tipping for the porters
Ups and Downs: Imperial Egypt Nile Cruise Review
Coco_C, Nov 2023
Overall, the tour offered a mix of positive and challenging experiences. The pace was satisfactory, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the incredible sites. However, the early wake-up times and an extensive 8-hour return journey to Abu Simbel in cramped conditions raised discomfort. The buffet meals were varied but repetitive, and the initial table allocation issue on the first day led to an inconvenient seating arrangement of us away from our tour group and at a table of tour guides. The family room provided was too small for three people, requiring furniture rearrangement as there was not enough space to even open our luggages. Drinks are not included on the cruise but they are however quite affordable. While the tour guide, Hady, showcased extensive knowledge and engagement during site visits, his inappropriate jokes raised discomfort. Hady's inappropriate jokes included saying to my dad, "Are you a baker? Because your daughter is a fine piece of cake," and to me, "You should have a map because I get lost in your eyes." While seemingly playful, these comments made us uncomfortable, as they crossed professional boundaries during a guided tour. Additionally, the mandatory tipping request, presented as a necessity due to the low wages the company pays the staff, felt coercive, contrasting with the expected autonomy in tipping decisions. The inconvenience of having to pay exorbitant amounts for Wi-Fi on the cruise is noteworthy, adding an unnecessary expense for guests. In an age where connectivity is often considered a basic amenity, the requirement to pay for Wi-Fi seems outdated and impractical, especially considering the overall cost of the cruise. This aspect could be a significant drawback for travelers expecting seamless connectivity during their journey. Despite challenges, the tour offered valuable insights into Egyptian history, with Hady's expertise shining through despite occasional discomfort.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Dear Coco ,I wish you are doing very well ,,, the company chair man just finished the investigation concerning your complain and the answres were as follow ,,, boat manager said , all cabins are same standard and size which is 21 Sq. Meters designed by a big famouse french company to fit three beds and you were given cabin Number 209 which is at the front half of the boat which is quiet and nice and your only complain was about the water and once you companied immediately the front office manager came to the cabin to check and they found no problem ,,, concerning the food, I would like to tell ,the boat is one of the 5 best Nile cruises at the river nile at the last 3 years and Hady told you ,that all the group were upgraded to this boat ,,buffet is international standard with alot of vairites but restaurant and kitchen were always ready to help for any requests which you have never asked ,,,I think it has been mentioned clearly in your itinerary that drinks will be extras ,,concerning abu simple tour ,we had two vehicles, one for 17 guests and the other was for 8 guests ,,you were in the small group which more space than the others and it has been mentioned clearly by our guide the details of the tour transfers ,,, concerning the jokes our history with our tour guide he is trying to joke with his guests to make them feel comfortable like home and he was joking with every one in public,, while ofcourse every one is free to accept the jokes or not ,, tipping is the way of life and the culture of the country ,it was necessary but not obligated and the guide was explaining every small details then it was choice of how much to give ,, although it has also been mentioned clearly in you itinerary, that tipping is not included,,, any way both of the boat manager and guide were stopped for doing any tours for the company ,,, again thank you so much for choosing our agent to serve you ,promising you to improve our activities and doing our best to fulfill our guests wishes ,, and I hope you would accept Imperial Egypt apologize ,,Imperial Egypt team

Food was stale. Guide was only interested in tips and kept disappearing. Service at reception was poor. Drinks are very expensive. Cruise cost was very expensive

A memorable trip with the great guide Hady
TosauAndrew_W, Nov 2023
The guide Hady is helpful all through. He read problems and responded proactively to fix them. Hady is a guide with in-depth knowledge to present to us with resourceful information to enrich our tour trip. Hady outreached every tour member to interact and help to their individual need during the day trip.
Excellent tour guide
Richard_C, Nov 2023
Hady was the best tour guide anyone could ask for, so knowledgeable and considerate - even going the extra mile to track down our lost luggage! We also really appreciated that he’d arranged all tickets in advance so we could beat the crowds. The tour itself was wonderful with many lasting memories - Richard & Ellie
