What To Expect

After pickup from your Aswan hotel or Nile cruise ship at your chosen morning time slot, spend around 3 hours traveling through the desert in a comfortable private car to the little town of Abu Simbel and the Abu Simbel Temples.

Depending on the option you’ve selected, line up and pay for your own tickets or relax with entrance fees included.

You’ll have around 3 hours to explore the site, either independently or with a guide. If you’ve opted for a guide, you’ll learn all about Ramses, Nefertari, and the gods they represent as you explore these majestic lakefront temples.

If you’ve chosen the tour with lunch, you’ll unwind over an included meal in a local restaurant before the drive back to your ship or your hotel.

Mustafa our guide was amazing!! He was very knowledgeable. He even drew us a detailed map of Abu Simbel that told us what the inscriptions meant. The driver was very nice. He drove safely and got us to the temple before all other tourists got there. So we got photos with no one in them!

Stunning temples in a stunning setting

Abu Simbel temples are truly amazing, and the story of how they were saved from the rising waters is inspiring, not to mention a feat of incredible engineering. Worth the considerable drive from Aswan.

It was amazing, exciting, historical and knowledgeable experience. The driver was quire friendly and ontime. The ride to Abu simbel was astounding. The guide Sameer was very knowledgable and gave me enough time to explore by myself and take photos.

Worth visiting Abu Simbel...

Worth visiting Abu Simbel temples? Absolutely. Worth getting a guide? Not really. You get a 10 minutes explenation since the guide is not allowed inside the temples so basicaly you will walk around and have some nice pics but thats it about the guide. The price does not justify the trip.

The temple is amazing but there were a lot of confusions about out pick up time. And then we were a little late because we were dealing with a baggage claim from our previous flight, but we told our contact we were a little late, and when we got there, we had to wait 1 hour because the driver left and they kept telling lies about his whereabouts... when he finally showed up, there was not even the slightest apology... we were offered a compensation for this but the travel agency was never clear about it...

No bottled water during the trip, the driver don’t let us buy tickets,he said must buy tickets with his visa card. The car is very clean.

Pick was prompt at our hotel early morning at 4:30 am and we had private comfortable mini van with safe driver from Emo travel and an amazing guide Emad Aiad explaining not only what we saw at the Temple of Abu Simbel but also gave us a back ground about the ancient egyption history and pointing out thing we have seen on the road going and coming back. Trip was amazing we witness sunrise in the road going to the temple and viewing Rmasess the second and his beloved wife Nefrtati teples was wonderful experince. I believe if upper Egypt (Luxor and Aswan) visted without going to Abu Simbel it would be a big missed opprtunity

Clean white prestige sport car

Wow i dont know where to start. The car was white sports and very clean and smelled really nice. The Ahmed was very gentle and calm. He drived very steady and even thought he didnt speak much english he still tried to make small talks to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. At times he even stopped at some photo spots to take my picture and video. Which was very nice and thoughtful of him. I appreciated the effort a lot. I would definitely recommend Ahmed.

Abu Simbel is a must-see that is worth the trip. Our driver Mohammad arrived on time and drove us to Abu Simbel quickly and safely within three hours one-way. He was ready to leave as soon as we were. Highly recommend!

Of course Abu Simbel and Nefetari Temple were amazing, with the bonus of almost no other tourists there in mid-December due to mass tourist cancellations. Samir was well organised, and stepped us through every part of the tour. He even gave us a map of the depictions inside the two temples and explained it all to us on the way, so we didn’t waste time when we got there, and we knew what to look for inside. The car was very comfortable and the lunch provided was perfectly fine.

Trip was straight forward. Trip started 7am. Did 1 toilet break in between. Reach at 1030am. Nice to have very few people at this time. Took all nice photos. Hamo took us to nice lunch place. Price is fine and justifiable with the amount of spread. I rate lunch 8/10. Hamo then drove us back to hotel. Appreciated no visits to any souvenirs shops. He drove professionally , gentle over humps, feel that ride is safe.
