Would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Auckland as it's one of the best food tours I've ever done. Elle was a fantastic guide and host, showing us great places to eat (and drink) and providing a ton of fascinating local history as well. The tour is very easily walkable and is over a very manageable distance.

Fun way to explore the city!
    Kristine_K, Apr 2024
We had an excellent time on this tour. Barbara, our tour guide, was great; and we really enjoyed all the different food venues we visited. Plus the tastes and treats were scrumptious! We arrived in Auckland from the States early the morning of the tour, and this fun city food walk in the afternoon was just the right intro to Auckland. Highly recommend!
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thanks so much Kristine! You're very kind. Delighted you enjoyed the tour so much. Barbara is amazing.
Great Tasting and A Great Start to Auckland
    Gary_R, Apr 2024
We had Kat for our guide and she made sure we had a great time helping us learn some of the history of Auckland and New Zealand and also pointed out great places to eat and drink at in Auckland in addition to taking us to 3 savoury and 2 sweet stops for tasting. It was a great tour to help us get oriented to Auckland and see and taste items that we wouldn't have found on our own very easily.
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
thanks so much Gary! I'm delighted you had such a great time
    Well paced and delicious

Our guide Jono was very passionate about food and knowledgeable about the city. Getting the history of the restaurants we were visiting really adds to the experience. Along the way Jono gave plenty of recommendations for other places to try while in the city. We stopped at one of the recommended places after for dinner , and it was spot on! A well paced end to our trip.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Great City Tour - some choices were just ok
    Judy_H, Mar 2024
The Auckland Foody tour was good. The guide, Jono, was fun and lively. The best stop was at Rodd & Gunn, with the unique fish n chip, and the croquette, and the least favorite was the cheese crackers stop (which was a nice location but a "meh" food choice. The order of the tasting could be improved, however, as I wasn't a fan of eating gelato so early in the tour, and then having wine at next stop. (And wine wasn't good, either). Still a great way to see the city and enjoy bites of unique food.
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
    Thanks Judy.
    Loved Jono’s tour
    Tom_O, Mar 2024
Jono was enthusiastic and a delight to tour with! His love and enthusiasm for Auckland, New Zealand and food was evident immediately. I would recommended a walking food tour on the first day of a visit to any city. We took this tour on the third day of our visit and realized how many fabulous places we’d missed. Definitely recommend!!!
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
He's the best is our Jono! We adore his energy! Thanks so much
    Fantastic food experience

Do not miss this tour! So much fun and all the stops were interesting and yummy. Elle (the owner of Auckland Big Foody Tours) was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable about the history of Auckland and the various food establishments. She had a great sense of humor and was so kind and thoughtful of all her guests.

    Yummy food tour
    Marcelle_M, Mar 2024
The final stop was at Culprit, super cool restaurant. Had amazing fresh oysters and fish. Elle, our guide, was friendly and answered all questions. Loved the Honest Chocolate stop. First stop was at the Lodge and had amazing wine and small bites. Lots of good walking and good food. Recommend this tour without reservation but don’t go if you don’t like wine, seafood or chocolate❤️👍🏻
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
But do go if you love food right! It was a fab afternoon with you all! 😘
    Great tour!

We try to do food tours on all vacations and this one did not disappoint. We learned so much about Auckland and the food was delicious! It wasn’t a ton of food (a good thing) so you got to really enjoy every bite.

    Dissatisfied
    Maria_H, Feb 2024
You need to rename this tour to City Tour with few snacks. The tour guide was very informative, but that isn’t what we signed up for. The price should be adjusted.
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
Hi There Maria. Thanks. for your feedback but I don't seem to have you registered as a guest on our tours. Please can you contact me on info@thebigfoody.com so I can find out which tour you were on.
