What To Expect

Your full-day tour of Auckland begins with pick-up from your central hotel and a scenic drive through the city to the North Shore. Admire views across Waitemata Harbour as you cross the famous Auckland Harbour Bridge and arrive in the lively seafront village of Devonport. Hop out to stretch your legs and take photos as your guide points out the Auckland skyline to the south, then drives you to North Head to enjoy views of the volcanic Rangitoto Island.

Cross back into central Auckland and follow the Tamaki Drive, a dramatic coastal road that winds its way along Waitematā Harbour to Misson Bay. Along the way, pass the glitzy waterfront of Viaduct harbor; spot the iconic Sky Tower looming above the buildings; and stop at lookout points like Achilles Point and Bastion Point.

Next, pay a visit to Cornwall Park to see the legendary One Tree Hill, where your guide will tell you all about the crater hill and its significance to the Maori people. Another beautiful park is the Auckland Domain in the Parnell neighborhood, where you’ll have chance to admire the Wintergarden. Then, get a glimpse of local life as you drive through Ponsonby, one of Auckland’s hippest neighborhoods, and perhaps peek into the shops along Ponsonby road.

After lunch (own expense), it’s time to head out of the city towards the wild west coast and Muriwai Beach. Breathe in the sea air as you stroll the black sand beach, then head to the southern end of the beach to visit one of New Zealand’s most important Gannet breeding colonies. There’s just time to make a stop at one of the wineries along the Kumeu Wine Trail for a wine tasting (included) before heading back to the city. Finally, your tour ends with drop off at your hotel.

GREAT way to spend a day!

This was an excellent way to see a lot of Auckland in one jam-packed day! Mike was an awesome tour guide, driver and human being! And a lot of fun, too😁. His energy and enthusiasm was contagious! We had a small group, which was great. We had a chance to chat and get to know something about our traveling companions. We got lots of photo ops and Mike played photographer, too! We saw highlights of Auckland and a lot of the area around the city. I would highly recommend this tour!!!

Great way to see the area without walking, much. Wine tasking was a hit with my husband who bought a couple of bottles to take home. Greg, our tour guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The fish and chips I chose for lunch was to die for and the special trip to get gelato for desert make it a perfect meal. Thank you Greg for providing a memorable day trip.

This was a great tour and our guide was really engaging and informative. Mini bus was comfortable and the small group we were in were friendly The bird impressions and knowledge of the area and wildlife was great, the guide related to his personal experiences which made the group feel very involved in the whole experience.

While visiting Auckland at the conclusion of our cruise, we only had a couple days to see as much of this beautiful city as possible. The full day tour was the perfect solution. Our tour guide, Mike, was simply amazing. He was very warm hearted and funny. Most importantly, he showed us key sights in a day (that we never would have seen on our own). This tour was the highlight of our entire trip. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
