What To Expect

Meet a guide at your accommodations in Barcelona between 8:30am and 9:30am (the exact departure time is up to you), then begin the 63-mile (102-km) trip to the Catalan city of Girona. Upon arrival in the city, take a walking tour of the medieval walls, cobblestone streets, and the Jewish neighborhood, which is among the best-preserved in Europe. Visit a stunning Gothic cathedral, then head to the edge of the Onyar River, where tiny, brightly colored houses line the riverbanks.

The next stop of the day is the Costa Brava, where you can stretch your legs again on a walking tour of Pals' narrow lanes, plazas, and viewpoints that look out towards the Mediterranean Sea and the Empordà Plains. Continue along the Catalan coast to the traditional fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, and explore the scenic surrounding area. This is the perfect place to stop for a seafood lunch, and your guide can help you find the ideal place to eat. If desired, you can take a walk on the Caminos de Ronda, an ancient pathway that leads to coves, cliffs, and beaches—bring a bathing suit if you want to take a dip.

At the end of the afternoon, begin the return trip to Barcelona, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Amazing tour

Miquel was an outstanding tour guide; he was knowledgeable, funny and very attentive to our group. The visits to Girona and Pals were incredible and lunch in Calella facing the beach was fantastic! We had a great, memorable day with Anatoli, visiting Girona and the Costa Brava. As a family of 4 with 2 teens, I appreciated how Anatoli was flexible and helped customize our itinerary on the spot to fit our interests and schedule. He shared a lot of information and history of the region that enriched the experience. Highlights were going up to the city walls in Girona and having lunch on the beach with a lovely view.

My son and myself had a wonderful time during this trip. It is a private tour, so you get picked up by car. We visited so many places - mainly the girona, Costca brava, medieval palaces to breathtaking scenery . Our guide Chema was wonderful, courteous, caring, deep conversations, enriching knowledge about the history ! There was never a dull moment during this trip. You could customize according to your needs! Chema was very energetic, very good driving skills, kept answering plethora of questions I had about the history. Also very personable and great sense of humor. You would certainly enjoy this trip

We enjoyed our day with Reuben. Visited Girona, Pals and Tossa De Mar. Reuben provided clean air conditioned transportation and was very knowledgable. Pickup at 9am and I think we were back by 5-ish??? It was an incredibly hot day and in hindsight I might've preferred to spend more time at the beach in Tossa De Mar??? Hard to say, but both Girona and Pals were unique interesting towns. We ended up picking up sandwiches and a fruit cup at a grocery store in Tossa De Mar to avoid wasting time at a sit down restaurant.

It was amazing walking the streets and learning about the towns we visited. So much history and so much beauty. It’s quite a shame, though that the citizens of these towns use so much graffiti. I highly recommend this tour if you are a history buff and also into architecture. Additionally, lots of Game of Thrones sites if that’s your thing.

Hands down the best tour we experienced in Spain! Our guide Mauriusz was extremely knowledgable about the history and places in Spain. He took us to a great beach towns, along Costa Brava & we had the best meal in Spain at a small fishing village in Tossa. He also knew a great Gelato place in Girona. It was the highlight of the trip! Beautiful scenery, rich culture,incredible Paella & seafood!

We had a wonderful guide on this trip. We took in so many beautiful sights up the coast and had time to explore several medieval towns. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch of local dishes while overlooking the brightest blue waters of the area. We had a beautiful day full of new things and enjoyed every minute of the tour.
