A dream realized
mike, May 2024
Mareien's (?sp) knowledge and style of communication made our day very comfortable and enjoyable. As a kid, I remember reading the "I Was There at D-Day". To experience the sites of the American landings and the cemetery was powerful and emotional. The small stories within the enormous undertaking are most astonishing. To walk where heros fought and sacrificed and among the resting places of strangers to the shores of France that sacrificed for good and freedom was........... It was a cold, windy, rainy and wonderful day!!
Amazing tour!

We learned so much from our tour guide, Jordan. He had so much knowledge and humor. We really enjoyed it. It was the highlight of our trip. He had so many stories that we never would have known about.
Response from Host, Apr 2024

Great D-Day Tour with Pascal
Matthew_K, Mar 2024
The tour occurred on Thursday, March 28th. We met at 0855 at the Train Station in Bayeaux. I drove to the spot via a rental car. There was a paid parking lot next to the Train Station. For a full day of parking, it was FREE. I was picked up at the station by Pascal. The tour starts immediately while you are being driven in the van. Pascal told you stories of the past. He incorporated photos and diagrams that allowed you to visualize the history. Pascal asked you "why" and "what would you do" type questions to get you into the mindset of those who lived the history. As you visited the sites, you got a feeling of how things were. I found myself being able to retain that information because it was so immersive. Lunch was a delicious local sandwich spot. However, we were off to our next stop point. I felt we had so much to accomplish for the day, but did not feel rushed. We were never idle nor rushed. It was a nice pace. Pascal allowed those who could not deal with the elements to hold back in the van or building, while the rest pressed forward. The tour size was small at about 8 people; this included the tour guide. Even when driving from site to site, you are not sitting there in silence, you are being told a true story or shown pictures of people who lived the history. Pascal made this tour so enjoyable. I love learning new things. This tour is worth it and Pascal takes his job seriously; he appears to want you to understand the history. The amount of facts he threw out there on top of his head was amazing. Thank you Pascal!
Great day trip

Great but be prepared
Angie_O, Oct 2023
Charles had a really passion and knowledge for Dday. He did an excellent job. Tip...come prepared for the weather!!! We had ponches and umbrella. This was not enough for the high winds and rain. We were soaked and freezing.
Response from Host, Oct 2023

Would do it again in a heartbeat
melanie_m, Oct 2023
Pierre-Alexandre was amazing. His English is perfect and his knowledge of history abundant. Maybe a sign in his window would help us find him at the station, as we were getting a bit nervous, but it was fine. He got us back to the station with plenty of time to catch our train. Please tell people to bring their own breakfast on the train, and figure out dinner on their own. By the time we got back to Paris, it was long past dinner.
It was one of the greatest days of my life and exceeded my expectations.
Ahmer_K, Oct 2023
The visit to the cemetary on Omaha Beach when I cried aftr seeing the rios and rows of graves. I was very humbled that some people on the tour came to comfort me and we shared a beautiful moment together that I will never forget.

Les_T, Sep 2023
Way too much good information to try to pick one thing as a favorite. This was an excellent tour packed full of very good information, but yet concise enough that it was easy to follow and keep track of. The name of our tour guide was Camille. If you happen to get her, you will not be disappointed.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we will make sure to let Camille know about your positive comment! Thank you for booking with us. Kind regards, Lucie from Bayeux Shuttle

Enlightening & Moving !
Bill, Aug 2023
Our tour guide Brien was very knowledgeable, although a very long day ( we took the train from Paris that morning ) it was very worthwhile!
D Day tour by Juliette
Timothy_C, Aug 2023
Our tour was great! Juliet our guide was so nice and answered all my son’s (history buff) questions. Even if you know a lot about D-Day you will learn new things. She took us to a church that was used as a hospital and the story was so moving. Recommend doing a tour because Normandy is too big to explore on your own. 10/10
Response from Host, Aug 2023

Morgane was a great guide! She was familiar with the area and very knowledgeable about the facts of the assault on the different beaches. Highly recommend this tour if you’re interested in Normandy.
A Day To Remember!
Laurie_H, Jun 2023
We loved our time with Fredrick spending the entire day in and around the Normandie historic sites. The cemetery was touching, as were the landing beaches we visited. Fred was able to bring to life the history of the region and the military sites in a way that kept you engaged. It is a long day coming in from Paris and back, but WELL worth it!
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we will make sure to let Fred know about your positive comment! Kind regards, Lucie from Bayeux Shuttle
Trash day turned to treasure
Jennifer_H, Jun 2023
I am not one to write reviews but Bayeux Shuttle is 100% worth my time to spread the good word. We had an absolute trash morning trying to get to our tour, so we missed our train and would be late to the start of our tour. So I called up the owner and let him know what was going on. Initially they told us basically, sorry about the bad luck, but no refund. I called back a bit later and asked if we could just cab to wherever our tour was at the time we would arrive and they said shouldn’t be a problem. The owner called back a short time later and said he had made some adjustments and someone would be there when our train arrive. Pierre was at the station to meet us and he was just wonderful!! He was friendly, smiling and very knowledgeable. He was happy to answer any questions and very accommodating. He even ran(literally) ahead at the museum to see if a wheelchair was available for my aunt, as she walks with a cane and was getting fatigued. I absolutely cannot sing high enough praises for Pierre and the owner(s). They turned out trash morning into an amazing and very moving day. Thank you all so very much!

Tour not as expected - too long for a day tour
Kristine_F, May 2023
Seeing the sights of what happened in Normandy was amazing. However, it was a very long day as a day trip from Paris. The tour was not what I was expecting. Our tour guide was nice but rambled on about things off the topic which used up a lot of time. We passed a couple of museums that I would have liked to go to instead of standing on Omaha Beach for 45 minutes in the cold as our guide flipped through a book. This happened on Utah Beach as well. He took us to a small church where soldiers were treated during the invasion but it was just an empty church. I feel the museums would have been a lot more interesting. Seeing the American Cemetery was amazing
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Dear Kristine, Thank you for your feedback. We take all constructive criticism to heart. Coming from Paris for a day trip is a long day. We cannot change distance from the capital. The Allies chose Normandy’s coast for the Overlord Operation as it was the most strategic point to invade during the Nazi Occupation with success. The itinerary of our small group tour is clearly listed on our internet site. Seeing as you would have preferred seeing more museums and spending less time on the beaches, I would suggest opting for a private tour next time. This will allow you to build your itinerary together with your guide and really pin point your interests. As for the ‘empty church’, I invite you to read “ANGELS OF MERCY” by Paul Woodage, an excellent historian who lives in Normandy. Paul Woodage operates WW2 TV and has a documentary about this particular church which is well done. I am disappointed that you were not enthralled and captivated by the subject matter and presentation. This concerns me. I will follow up with your guide and discuss ways to make the presentation more universally attractive. Thank you again for taking the time to write your comments.

Visiting the beaches where so many gave their lives in the name of freedom. Unfortunately we live in a world now where that freedom is threatened once again not by outsiders but from within our own country and government.
