Weight Restriction: It is important that we have accurate body weight from every passenger. FAA regulations require all passengers to be weighed at time of check-in. Any passenger weighing 290 lbs. or more will require a comfort seat. Call reservations for more information.
Scuba Diving: No scuba diving 24 hours prior to helicopter tour departure time.
Children: A child 23 months or younger may fly at no charge and must sit on adult’s lap. Please provide child’s weight at time of booking. Children 2 yrs. and older must occupy a seat with seat belt on and are charged full fare.
Check-in: Check-in is minimum 45 minutes prior to your tour departure time. For your safety and comfort, hats and over sized bags are not permitted on the flight line or in the helicopter. Please leave these items in your automobile. Bring picture I.D.

All Flights Include: Ground safety briefing, pilot personal narration and choreographed music recorded on the live digital video, Stereo aviator headsets with individual volume control, custom built digital recording system, polarized bubble windows, air-conditioned climate control, custom interiors and much more!
Routes & Flight Time: Sunshine does not fly any specific routes but has many sights within the area of a described tour that we intend to visit during a tour. Sights may vary due to weather. Flight times are estimates and may vary a few minutes.
Actual Flight Video: A high-definition video of your actual flight narrated and orchestrated by your pilot is available on USB for purchase.
Photography: Bring camera and wear a dark colored shirt to reduce glare on the plexiglass windows.

Sunshine’s service was excellent and our pilot was as knowledgeable and helpful. Ww had to reschedule because of cloud one day but were able to go the next day. Perfect day and trip!

Good experience

Overall this was a good experience but it isn’t advertised accurately. I was under the assumption that we would be picked up from the hotel and was disappointed to hear that we wouldn’t be because they were low on staff. This should have been communicated beforehand and we should have been compensated for the lack of transport. We had to find a rental car last minute and struggled to find the heliport when we arrived at the resort, as the signs are not big and clear. After we got there the experience was fun and Maria (our pilot) was great. The helicopter ride itself truly was a great experience, I was disappointed at not being informed in a timely manner about the lack of transport to the heliport; as this was an additional cost and I felt the tour itself was already expensive so it’s rather misleading. I would have probably booked a cheaper experience if I was aware about this but it was too late to cancel. My partner and I did enjoy the tour but I would advise others to get clarity on all the details prior to booking, so as not to be surprised by unexpected costs.

I was terrified- to be honest. No fault of the pilot- she was amazing. I did this solely for my boyfriend. When she rounded the corner and we saw the waterfalls- it brought tears to my eyes (truly). It was the most majestic thing I have ever seen- hands down. When we finished I would've paid double for the experience. I'm glad I did it once- I'll never do it again- it did scare me (I do not like flying generally or heights.)

The whole trip around the Big Island with volcanoes to waterfalls was fabulous. From the greeting by the staff to our pilot Eric- Knowledgeable, funny, engaging and great play list for the trip. Our pilot had the personality of a sea slug. His voice is monotone and puts you to sleep. If I heard the name of one more park, I was preparing to jump. How is it possible to be board flying over an active volcano??

The views of the coast were magnificent and the experience seeing the active volcano was fascinating. The pilot provided almost non-stop information and what we were seeing, as well as history, culture, botanical information. Above all, the entire team from ground crew to pilot was focused on your safety. Would highly recommend this tour!

Awesome Experience

This tour was an awesome experience. It was mine and my husband’s 5th anniversary, so we flew out to Hawaii and wanted to do a helicopter tour together. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative about the island’s agriculture, he made sure the whole group had opportunities to see the volcanoes, waterfalls, and other cool areas on the island. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the location given on Viator isn’t the meetup site. It takes you to the hotel, but the meetup location is actually up the road. Should be listed on Viators main page. Lastly, when you wear bright colors (seen in one of my photos) it obscures your views and makes it difficult for others to snap pictures of the landscape when colors reflect off the glass. It is recommended to wear dark colors to prevent ruining someone’s experience. The tourist should have been placed in the middle row, not the edge to prevent that. Otherwise, I’d recommend and would do it again.

An amazing experience! The ride was very smooth and the pilot was very knowledgeable. It was amazing seeing the island from such a different perspective. We went for the volcanoes but the highlight ended up being the waterfalls. Stunning!

We've always been to cheap to do the more expensive adventures on vacation, but decided it was necessary rhis time to see Kilauea and the island. I am so glad we did, and moving forward we will be doing helicopter tours wherever the landscape would be better viewed from above. Sunshine was a great company; we felt safe the entire time and Maria was very knowledgeable and a great guide. A must do!
