Take a Kealakekua Bay snorkeling cruise, and depart from the waters of Keauhou Bay to scour the Kona coastline for dolphins, turtles or, even, whales in the winter months. Upon arrival in Kealakekua Bay, peer overboard at the crystal clear waters that teem with colorful reef fish. Since this Kona snorkeling trip departs from the waters inside of Keauhou Bay, you’re treated to a tour of the Kona coastline before even arriving at Kealakekua Bay for some of Hawaii’s best snorkeling. On this leisurely motor along the coast, be on the lookout for pods of spinner dolphins that splash in the waters near shore, and, if you’re lucky, there’s even the chance they could swim right along and jump by the bow of boat.
Once you arrive in Kealakekua Bay for 1.5 hours of snorkeling, the crew will assist you with snorkeling equipment and provide expert instruction for beginners. There’s also a selection of flotation devices if it’s easier to float than to swim. Once you’ve swam with the schools of reef fish and explored the colorful corals, return to the boat and splash in the water from the boat’s 15-foot (4.5-meter) water slide. Climb aboard from the very top deck, and drink in the panoramic view, and then go hurtling down towards the water where you’ll land with a smile and a splash.
You’ll also enjoy some onboard snacks such as a selection of tropical fruit, and, on the comfortable cruise back to Keauhou Bay, an assortment of beverages are available for purchase to bring the trip to a close.

Really nice experience. Felt safe and informed. The staff was very patient and friendly. They also had a great sense of humor. Perfect snorkeling location with many sea creatures to view. This is my second Trade Winds snorkeling experience. Definitely recommend it to others and will undoubtedly sign up again in the future.

Everything about this experience was wonderful!!!
They spent time explaining so much about the culture, and the inportance of respecting it, the time snorkeling was awesome and we had so much fun! We got to see whales, dolphins and flying fish!

The crew was so friendly and fun, more than amazing, the captain took the time to circle back and show us dolphins, and hammerhead sharks, which we were able to see on our way to snorkeling! The ship was clean, bathrooms clean! What a great snorkeling spot! I couldn’t rate this high enough.

What an amazing afternoon! The staff was knowledgeable and shared Island history as well as information about volcanoes. This was an experience for all ages and all experience levels of snorkeling! There was someone that went over the basics with those who needed some extra encouragement and those who didn’t need assistance were free to explore. Passing out the equipment and snacks was efficient and everyone had a memorable day, we had people in our group 5-55 and everyone was able to get in comfortably and see so many fish! I would definitely do it again when I return!

I have done so much on the big Island but by far this is the Whole Family’s #1 activity! It was over 3hr and it was so much fun that it felt so short! I will do this activity 2 times (on the first & last day) next time I come. If any activity is a must this one is perfect!

Wonderful snorkel cruise! Loved that they have several options to see the coral beyond snorkeling like boogie boards with viewports or just floating in a tube with a floating viewfinder type thing. Though a large group, there was plenty of space and did not feel crammed. Crew was professional and kind. Chill relaxed vibe, not a party boat. Highly recommend!

Snorkeling near Captain Cook’s Bay was an unforgettable experience. We encountered a manta ray, a pod of dolphins, and the reef was bustling with an array of colorful tropical fish!
The staff were helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend.

Our snorkel trip was great. We saw a whale breach, spinner dolphins, and amazing coral and fish! The crew was fantastic, and had all of the gear you need, including flotation devices. This a a must do on the island of Hawaii!

We saw some good fish. The snacks were average. We needed more choices. We left 45 minutes late!!! We came back on time. Do, not the three hour experience we thought. So add was nice.
