Firstly, I will start by saying our tour guide (Sorry, I forgot her name) was wonderful. She was very good with providing great, and interesting details, and she was easy to get alone with. The driver was also very good and polite.
Overall, the trip was super. You do get to see the Giza pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis and the Saqqara step pyramid complex.
All of that was super - couldn't fault it.
However, I was not aware of all the possible little extras in each zone. For example, tickets included are basic and for the main site, but when you reach the main site, there are tombs and other events/mini museums etc that require additional payment and/or a more comprehensive entry ticket. So, unfortunately, you do miss out on things when you are there. It depends how thorough you want to be in each site. For me, it was a frustrating because I never had the option and I think there should be more clarity for tourists on this matter.
I paid for the lunch included in my ticket. The food was basic, but sufficient.
One thing I didn't really like was being dragged to a souvenir shop, then a papyrus shop and then an essence shop - all over priced items aimed at tourists and you know, they really try to hard sell and I hate that pushy energy. You can get all that stuff a lot cheaper in bookshops and in shops in Mall of Egypt., but I guess the tour operators get a cut if they get their customers in there buying stuff. So, yes, no option going to those places and had I been given the option, I'd have definitely said: NO!
To sum up, great tour guide, ok lunch, but be aware of the missing extras in each site, and being taken to shops you never asked to visit outside of what is on the ticket itinerary.
