What To Expect

Begin with pickup at your hotel in Cairo or Giza, and travel to the Giza plateau in a private, air-conditioned minivan. After entering the plateau, visit the three pyramids that dominate the landscape, and listen to stories about the ancient kings who built them: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.

Descend to the Great Sphinx of Giza—the limestone statue is the oldest known monumental statue in the world—and learn the mysteries surrounding its construction. Pause to photograph the classic view from the Sphinx to the Giza pyramids, then take a camel ride to a panorama for an open perspective on the entire plateau.

Now it’s time to head into the sand: suit up for quad biking tour, then rev your engine and start exploring at the edge of the Sahara Desert. The desert near Cairo is mostly flat, so you can open up the accelerator and cool off in the wind, then practice maneuvering through sand and small rocks with the pyramids as a spectacular backdrop. At the end of your time on the quad bike, return to base at the Giza Plateau for the return trip to your Giza or Cairo hotel, where this tour concludes.

Beware of scamming guides

So the tour guide arrives and did not have a clue about whst I had purchased. He just wnated to tske us to the pursmids and then to shops whre he obviously gets a cut. He did not intend to take us to the cuad bikes. I had to insist that that was why I had purchased this tour specifically. In the end we went on an atv and the picture is me on a cuad that someone lent for that purpose. Then at the end of the tour the guide harrassed me to the point I was feeling afraid. He pushed the amount I should give him and the driver. He made me feel uncomfortable and afraid. I was not expecting this from a company as reputable as Viator.

After being on a tour for a week in Egypt we decided to stray from our tour group and book this excursion on her own we were so glad we did as this was the most fun we had all week since we are sightseeing the whole entire week or driver and tour guide where extremely nice and and or quarter riding adventure was super fun through the Sahara Desert and all the hills definitely worth taking just wish I would have done the 8 hour instead of the 4

Our guide and driver were friendly and knowledgeable. Emmy was an absolute delight and made our day such a great experience! She did an amazing job explaining everything to us and kept the vendors away as well as kept a great pace of the day. The camel ride was more of an “out and back” quick experience (but how much time do you really need on a camel?). The atv portion was a bit of a disappointment as the operator sat on the front of my unit for the whole time making it nerve wracking I was going to fall off… over all, this was worth the value as the guide made the day!

Muhammed ensured that this excursion was unique, presented professionally and accurately. I would highly recommend this all inclusive tour that allows you to be educated in Egyptian history, ride a camel and have an adrenaline rush while quadbiking on the dunes next to the pyramids. The most exciting day so far! It even includes a visit to a papyrus factory and perfumery! A MUST SEE AND DO!

Mimo and Bassam were incredible guides! We were able to see unobstructed views of the pryamids and the sphinx, and even got to touch the great pyramid! We absolutely loved this tour and would highly recommend it to everyone!

Most memorable part was the quad ride around the pyramids. We were alone in front of 5 pyramids and could take amazing pictures. The tour guide was amazing and takes the time to explain you history details and funny stories. We had a really great day. You could also shop during the tour for souvenirs Egyptian cotton, parfum, papyrus … Strongly recommend the tour for this cheap price and all the activities (55usd - 8hours)

The guide was on the phone for most of my tour. I found it rude and disrespectful. I'm not sure if he didn't take me serious because I am a Black American, solo traveler. For the tour guide to think this was OK to do while working was so disgusting. I also left my pocketbook in the car as it was a lot to carry while touring the pyramids of Giza, camel riding and Quad Bike riding. The driver helped himself to money out of my wallet. Yes I was robbed of about $20 usd. Which isn't a lot but its the principle. The tour guide was very demanding of tips. He stressed tipping more than sharing the history of Egypt. Then he offered to give me a tour of New Cairo if I didn't tell anyone about his offer. I did not appreciate how I was treated as a Black woman from America who solo travels. I'll NEVER use this site to book solo tours or activities while abroad again.

The tour itself was nice, though the camel ride was definitely closer to 15 min. It did go longer than expected, by about 2 hours. There were also some unexpected stops at an oil place and a papyrus place, trying to sell us stuff, so be pre warned! Also, our guide convinced us to buy and book a second tour through him: DON’T do it. We ended up getting charged almost double what the tour was going for if you booked online. And it definitely wasn’t worth what we paid.

This was a great tour. Our guide and driver were very knowledgeable and helpful. The lunch was very tasty and the sights beautiful. The atv ride was super fun but a warning as some fitness may be required as it goes through the sand dunes. But overall a great tour.

The tour was very nice we went to some amazing places and did everything we could (riding a camel and atv) I absolutely recommend every single activity. The tour guide was very friendly and explained everything! The only thing that we did not enjoy was that they took us to some stores and their office to buy some souvenirs that they all was overpriced and we felt a little uncomfortable. So be prepared

OMGGG… This was the best tour guide ever I had a female & male tour guide! I felt safe the entire trip. We laughed, she was extremely educated, she assisted with scheduling more activities! If you don’t have riding quads in the Sahara desert in the shadows of the pyramids on your bucket list, you need to edit your bucket list. Great tour of the pyramids. Ahmed was a great guide, v knowledgeable and answered all questions I had. Knew all the best spots for pictures and how to avoid the crowds, which was very useful. Collection from hotel was seamless, lunch included was delicious, from a local authentic restaurant. 10/10.

The tour and activities were excellent! Our tour guide was Waleed and he was fantastic. He was friendly, efficient, and had very good English. He knew all the good spots and where to take good photos. We went inside one of the pyramids (for a small additional cost), and road a camel. He also took us to the govt papyrus shop to see how paper was made from the plant. Also took us to an oil/perfume shop. If you don't want to go somewhere, just let them know; the tour is very flexible. To assist with transportation between spots, we also had a private drive in a clean SUV with AC. The ATV ride through the sahara desert was the best. They will help you navigate if you feel you are unable to control the vehicle as it requires a bit of strength to maneuver the steering. Highly recommend this package!! You get it all in just a half day trip. I personally enjoyed this trip with my parents. Lunch included.

We had the most amazing day with Amir! He truly made the whole experience unforgettable. The hotel pickup was so smooth and having a car taking us around all day was a godsend, we definitely would not have been able to manage on our own. Amir was so knowledgeable and was such a fun guide. He knew all the best photo spots and had jokes for days. We really cannot thank him enough. The perfume and papyrus making excursions were an added bonus. The camel ride and ATV through the desert were so much fun!
