Pink photo Ops

The Pink Sea tour was a good experience. Carlos was our driver and he was Great, he didn't speak much English but he made good efforts at communicating with us. Our ride was pleasant and safe. This tour was beautiful and amazing to see the pink hue of the sea as well as briefly feel the sea water on our skin. However the guide speaks no English and the only way to translate was via Google with spotty wifi but she did her best. We had a private car but no wifi as listed. FYI: We received our bottle water, you pay to use the bathroom and to enter the pink sea on top of tour price. The time to travel is included with the 4 hrs total. You really only spend 45 mins or so at the pink sea as there is not much to do However the sea speaks for itself and I would still recommend this tour.

Never Showed Up--Never Called--AWFUL GROUP

I cannot say enough BAD THINGS about this group. We booked and paid for it well in advance. This tour was supposed to be our 1st activity on our 1st full day. No one showed up or bothered to call. A nice English-speaking tour driver outside our hotel heard us discussing the situation with the doorman. He asked if he could call the company directly which he did. The person that answered the phone and the driver himself seemed to know nothing about it--nor did the apologize in any way. STAY CLEAR OF THIS GROUP AND THIS TOUR. Since this was our initial Cartagena experience, it could easily have ruined our entire trip. Thank heavens for the English-speaking tour driver who helped us out. Because of his kindness to us we hired him for the rest of our unbooked time and dinners. He truly made our week! So good can come out of bad--but no thanks to this awful tour group!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately we could not take you to the sea that day , because we had confirmed with the area and did not have the pink color to take you ,if we had gone with you we would not be giving you a good service , what we did was to cancel the reservation and refund 100% of your money , for this reason I do not understand your annoyance due to the fact that we were very sincere with you not to deceive you and take you to the area and , show you a sea that was not pink which is what you wanted to see , you should thank the honesty of the company to return your money , in the message we sent you we previously explained the situation the day before and apologized to you , of course we apologize for not taking you to the area and for not taking you there.

A great substitute tour

The morning of the tour, Luis emailed us to inform us that because of recent rains, the pink sea would not live up to its advertised charm, so rather than take us on a disappointing adventure, he offered to refund our money or to take us on a private tour of Cartagena. We opted for the private tour and he took us to all the usual sites, but also to Getsemani, a wonderful artist enclave that had spectacular murals on all the buildings and neat art cooperative shops throughout. He tailored the day to our wants and needs, and it was perfect. We appreciated Luis’s willingness to refund the scheduled tour rather than take us on a long, disappointing journey. Although we did not get to see the Pink Sea, we felt we were given a good alternative.

Cancelled for a good reason

The tour operator canceled the trip due to bad weather. I appreciate that it was cancelled instead of us having a miserable time in pouring rain. I am waiting for my refund! The tour operator assured me that it would be done soon. 🤞

Luis was great! He was extremely professional. We learned so much about Colombian culture from him during the private tour. We also forgot our bathing suit in his trunk and Luis was kind enough to deliver them later.

Luis was wonderful! So nice and accommodating, he even took us by the volcano and Cartagena sign as a bonus. We went to the pink sea in February and the color was incredible. Definitely recommend!

The booking turned out to be really cool. Luis was our guide. My friend and I were a little scared when he picked us up. We thought we were going with a group in a van but no it was just us. Luis was very nice and even made a couple of stops for us that wasn't on the itinerary. By the time we got back to our hotel we felt that our experience was a good one.

Nous avions pris l’excursion en français car elle était offerte dans cette langue sauf que le chauffeur parlait seulement espagnol finalement, il avait appris quelques mots en français à l’école dans son jeune temps. Il n’a été que notre chauffeur, puisque rendus sur place nous avons dû payer des frais supplémentaires pour accéder au site et un « guide » local est embarqué dans notre voiture pour donner le chemin au chauffeur, car les salines se trouvent dans un village très pauvre de Colombie. C’est un moyen pour eux de faire de l’argent alors il s’attendait à être tipé. Rendus au stationnement, une autre « guide locale » nous a accompagnés aux salines sans dire un seul mot. Nous étions les seuls et honnêtement ça ne vaut vraiment pas le montant payé! Elle aussi voulait être tipée pour nous avoir accompagnés, mais elle était seulement un chaperon. Il n’y avait pas un chat. Nous étions seuls. Nous nous sentions mal de ne pas tiper puisque ce sont des gens pauvres. Ce sont de gros bassins où l’eau est rosée. Pas du tout comme les photos et ça a pris maximum 15 minutes sur place. C’est assez loin de Carthagene donc nous avons fait plus de voiture que d’activité. C’est un attrape-touristes pour tiper les « guides » et pour payer une entrée à une madame qui attend sur le bord du chemin. Rien ne semblait réglementé par le pays ou la ville. C’était une madame avec une petite table sur le bord du chemin. On a vraiment sentis que nous étions là pour tiper des gens dans le besoin. Ce n’est pas mentionné qu’il y a des frais supplémentaires pour entrer sur le site dans la description de l’activité. Nous sommes très déçus et trouvons que nous avons perdus notre temps. Par contre, nous avons été confrontés à la pauvreté de ces gens, ce qui nous a grandement touchés.

Gracias por darnos su opinión , el Tour.no dice en francés , dice en español y en inglés , y especifica que hay que pagar a GUÍAS locales que es su único trabajo , el color de el mar en el área es rosado por un fenómeno natural derivado de la gran concentración de salina en las aguas. Al caer la lluvia, las gotas de agua rompen los gránulos de sal y crean este fenómeno., también el mar posee unas micro algas halofilas que producen beta caroteno, creando ambientes de alta salinidad y luminosidad, en ocasiones debido al exceso de lluvia el color se pierde un poco pero en otras momentos el color es un rosado intenso y llega a ser rojo . El trayecto es de 40 minutos donde ustedes pueden ir conociendo la vía al mar, pasando por pequeñas poblaciones y mucho campo verde para disfrutar , lamentamos que se presentó el problema con el idioma , pero los esperamos la próxima vez y le tendremos sin costo un guía adicional En francés

El tour privado canceló la noche anterior a las 10 pm de la noche anterior con la excusa de mal clima. Una mentira total. El clima estuvo perfecto. No confío en esta empresa de servicios.

Buenos días el area Del Mar rosado está a una hora más o menos de la ciudad de cartagena y el clima es diferente , el día anterior a su servicio había estado lloviendo en esa área , y eso hace que el color rosado Del Mar se pierda . por lo que somos una empresa seria y responsable tomamos la opción de. No llevarlos para no préstales un mal servicio por lo que decidimos devolver completamente su dinero. Es extraño que por ser honestos nos des una mala calificación
