Ok but wouldn't do it again.

The place was a short walk from the port - of course getting out the port was a little challenging as the last thing the port wants you to do is leave! The staff was very nice. The class was not as advertised, no tacos to be seen, only guac and ceviche - both of which was nice and fun to make. The bar service was good. The pool was not available and frankly looked very rough, so not sure I would have gone in it if it was open. The massage was ok. I wouldn't do this again.

Macarena welcomed us warmly, was very personable and presented herself in a very professional manner. Her work group were excellent ad well. It was so much fun!! We also were introduced & educated about the culture there. We are so happy we participated in this event. We will recommend to others.

How Do You Beat Guacamole, Cerviche, Limitless Margaritas, a Massage and Pool Access?

This excursion was a blast! We were coached on how to make hand made guacamole and cerviche with all of the ingredients (avocados, purple onions, garlic, tomatoes, limes, salt pepper, fish, lemon juice, cucumbers, mango, etc.) being provided. Plenty of tortillas chips made it a feist for all of us and the open bar provided plenty of the best margaritas we've ever enjoyed not to mention the tequila shots we also enjoyed. The excursion also included a nice, relaxing massage as well as access to a swimming pool. It turned out to be an afternoon of fun, great food, and plenty of relaxation! Highly recommend this excursion!!

This was an excellent activity for our family of four ranging 14-75 years old. The staff was friendly. Knowledgeable and interested in our having a good time. I would not hesitate to book this again The massages were amazing!

What a fun, delicious and relaxing experience! Our chef was amazing and guided us through amazing guacamole and fish ceviche and the open bar was an added plus, then to top it off a 30 min massage… perfect. Book this no doubt about it.

My family was looking for an off-the-beaten-path excursion while on a February 2024 cruise. I found this cooking class on Trip Advisor and then booked the excursion using Viator. It can be daunting to go off on your own with your family in a new country for the first time, but the maps and the description assured me that Catrina was a short walk from the port and that we would be safe. I can attest that getting to the restaurant/resort was indeed an easy walk, and although I was being very watchful, we felt safe the whole time. Once we got to Catrina, we met Jackie and her staff and family. There was one other couple from our ship who were there dining, but we were the only ones taking the cooking class. The staff had previously prepared the space with everything we needed to make the food. Everything seemed clean and I felt no concern about the sanitization practices. The instructor took her time and we all learned so much. Afterwards we got a tour of the resort and pool area and even the chef's personal garden that is on the grounds. Finally, we received our massages (Be prepared to tip your masseuse!) and sat by the resort pool for a short time. The pool is more rustic than the one at the port, so if you have kiddos that want to swim, I would advise doing it there if you are coming from a ship. However, the one at Catina was much more peaceful and authentic to the area. In Summary, the experience was wonderful! It became my wife's favorite excursion on our whole trip. It felt calm and peaceful after being on a "mega-ship" surrounded by so many people. The class was informative, the food was delicious, the host was warm and welcoming, and we were back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. I highly recommend this experience.

We weren't sure what to expect but the reviews were fantastic so we decided to check it out and it was so worth it! Chef Salsa shares her secrets to making delicious authentic dishes we absolutely loved the guacamole and ceviche - nothing like we've had before. She has great story telling about Myan history too. Her and her team also prepare authentic margaritas which is outstanding! It is in a small group maybe up to 10/12 people, we had 6. Great for solo, couples or friends - not geared for children. Massage and pool were nice - bring flip flops for the pool area. We had a little trouble getting through the port - the shops are arranged to make it challenging - you need to get through both sections of shops and out to the taxi area. Walk through the taxi area and once you go reach the pyramid it is to the left about a block back. The building is unfortunately not very handicap accessible and may be challenging if stairs are an issue. Would absolutely go again or even just for lunch! Very talented!

Digbee was great. We had a personal cooking class and made cerviche & gaucamole from scratch. When were finished eating we had a great massage. It felt great. Pool was OK.

This was a fantastic excursion. Not only was it delicious guacamole and ceviche that we learned to make, it included our drinks and a 30 minute massage that you could upgrade to an hr for a fee (3 out of 5 of us did). Sitting by the pool after massage with a frozen drink was fantastic way to end the day in port!

The class was good, and we enjoyed making the guacamole and ceviche. There were dogs present, and they were a little too friendly while we were making the items.. the massage was great. Outstanding. It is advertised as a wheelchair accessible and it is not. We struggled a lot with this, but they did help us a lot. Also, there is no wheelchair accessibility to the pool no handrails at the pool no accessibility even to the kitchen, cooking area/bar we struggled to get to the massage room as that was not wheelchair assessable I do not recommend this for anyone who needs wheelchair accessibility and it needs to be taken off of the list of amenities . I am thankful to the staff who helped us to make this work.

My family of four loved this cooking class. Macarena was amazing and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the massages and a drink by the pool. The entire staff was absolutely delightful! We will definitely come back for lunch here on our next cruise. The location was easy to find and a short walk from the Royal Caribbean cruise port. 10/10. recommend this excursion!

This was probably one of the best activities we’ve experienced on VIATOR. The instructor was AMAZING, she took her time and explained the preparation process. The guacamole and cerviche was very good. Can’t wait to try this at home. The restaurant and spa area were very cute. It’s not upscale but definitely very welcoming with a bit of boho aesthetic. The instructor, chef and the young lady that performed the massage were top notch. We would def do this activity again if we ever visit costa Maya.
