Machu Picchu Made Easy
Robert_S, Apr 2023
The views on the train and at Machu Picchu were amazing. The tour company also made the trip simple.
Refund Needed
Yris_D, Nov 2022
The tour coordinator tried to charge us extra money for the tickets to Machu Picchu, even though we had already paid. We did not get picked up at our hotel. They made us walk and rushed us to meet them. When. We got to the hotel they asked us to meet them, they weren’t even there! We had to wait. Also, we did not feel safe on our way back from Cusco. The train was releasing a lot of smoke and they had told us that we were going to change to another train due to motor malfunction. However, we never did. We had to endure the train ride covering our noses because the smoke was strong. On top of that, we did not get dropped off at our hotel. We had to order an Uber where we were dropped off, not even close to the hotel. The whole trip back took us 9 hours. We would like a refund.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
The trains are private companies, we are not the owners of those companies, if you had any discontent you should have let us know so that we can proceed with the complaint to the train company, but you never did and with reference to your hotel being too far from the center. .
Amazing experience but expensive

Machu Picchu is a must see when arriving to Peru! So many miracles have happened in this land! My tour guide in Machu Picchu, Edwin, was the best I could have possibly had, he explained everything in detail, was always positive and happy! I am more than happy with the knowledge he gave us and I will remember this tour forever! In terms of the price I it was overrated, and this is the reason I put 4 instead of 5 stars! The tour lasts for 2:30 hours approximately, and the money were a lot for these hours. Thank you for a beautiful tour!
Must-see Attraction
Hazel_C, Oct 2022
Good communication with the tour company. The tour included all train and bus tickets and fees. Edwin, our guide is well-informed. Machu Picchu is breathtaking. It would have been much more fun if we were able to do other circuits, but it wasn't the tour company's fault though. Well spent time, about 3 hours. Lots of time to take photos too with not much crowd around! Hotel pickup is a plus, would have been much appreciated if we were dropped off at our hotel too.
You will need to queue for the ticket as its not truly included
Grazyna_L, Oct 2022
So the worst of this trip is that they accept your booking that clearly states that Machu Pichu ticket is included than day before trip they contact that there are nit entrance tickets but you can still come to trip but you need to stay in queue and hope you will get the ticket on the day. They dropped me 152 soles to my hotel reception as this part is for the most important ticket to Machu Pichu. I was so worried going there (picked up at 2.50am) to get there. I got there. Stayed in the 2 different queues till 12pm but I lucky got my ticket, but not sure if everyone is so lucky. I was truly stressed I spend so much money for the trip with the risk of nit getting inside.
Great experience

Great experience. Long and exhausting but worth it! Had communication with a team leader a week prior to our trip. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Apr 2022
thank you very much for your comments
Super day , worth the time to personally see this wonder.
joel_g, Apr 2022
Well we had an excellent guide, edwin, it was a small group and he knew every question clearly that we pit to him , Its at least a 3-4 hour trip from cuzco , but worth every second to see the ancient inca ruins

thank you very much for your comments 😀
Don’t buy this package
LIVEA_O, Nov 2021
I bought the package for Machu Picchu and was disappointed. I thought it would be a service that would have a guide accompanying me from the beginning of the journey, picking up and dropping off at the hotel, but it wasn't like that. The night before the tour, the person responsible for the tour was at my hotel and gave me the train, bus and entrance tickets. Basically he just bought the tickets, I went alone the next day. Arriving in Aguas Calientes there was a local guide who introduced Machu Picchu, however, as soon as you get off the train there are several people offering this service. I would have saved 200 dollars if I had bought the tickets myself and hired a local guide in Aguas Calientes. In conclusion, do not buy this package.
A must do but be ready for a long day
MO_S, Jan 2019
The tour was organized and makes things as easy as they canKey points from our trip - If staying in Ollantaytambo is an option,do it! This would save you potentially hours of travel and waiting time if you are coming from Cusco Dont rely on the tour guides at Machu Picchu - ours was late & boring!
Everything perfect only too shirt time
Paulina_K, Aug 2018
All trip was organized very well, everything was on plan. Only one thing made me a bit upsad, all trip took 20h and just in Machu Picchu was about 2h time, almost no time to make good pictures because there were so many people there and guide was hurry up too much! After was 3h waiting in Aguas Calantes what is without sense... better was to stay that time in Machu Picchu

Yolanda_S, Aug 2018
This was not an escorted tour and there was confusion with the person picking up the group. The guide met the group at the entrance of Machu Picchu, but the guide was not as thorough as other guides are, and I know because this was my second trip to this place. Still, nothing can take away the majestic views of Machu Picchu. The tour agent, Oswaldo, was very nice and very accomodating when I expressed my disappointment with the guide. He offered me a free Cusco city tour and indicated that the guide will no longer be working for the tour agency.
Amazing but frustrating
Patrick_K, Jul 2018
I had difficulty finding the right meeting point. Very poor communication prior to the actual tour. Attempted calls and WhatsApp messages. I finally got my meeting point at 11 o’clock at night. And had to be there at 3:50 in the morning
Awful. Do not waste your money or time on this tour
Amandagraham9999, Jul 2018
We started off our day being picked up at our hotel by our guide who gave us our train tickets then left mid bus journey. We then got on our train and we’re told to meet another guide at the other side which we did not know the name of. Once we got off the train our guide was nowhere to be seen so we spent ages walking around confused as to where they were. Then about 15 minutes later they appeared. We are then given our bus tickets to Machu Picchu from this new guide who then leaves once they have given you the tickets. You are told to meet your new guide at Machu Picchu who has a green flag. No name again. We then made our way to machu pichhu where there are hundreds of people and guides waiting outside all with the same coloured flag which made it difficult to find our one. Again we spent ages wondering around trying to locate our guide. After about half an hour we found him and what a waste of time that was. He was useless. We were rushed through photo opportunities of machu pichhu and told we are allowed five minutes before moving on. We ended up leaving our guide and moving round at our own pace. After this we headed for the train and arrived at our stop in Ollantaytambo and were to get our final guide and bus driver. But they never showed up. At this point it was dark and we had been searching for our guide for over half an hour. I tried to contact viator who did not reply for ages and when they did they said he was waiting which he was not. Luckily we had others in our group who spoke Spanish and were able to find us alternative transport home. However if we had not had those other members of the group to help we would have been stranded. Honestly do not waste your time or money on this tour. If you want to do a tour book it when your in Peru and save yourself some money.
Worst experience ever with the company that provided the service
altagracia_j, Jul 2018
We were provided $48.00 dollars for the bus transportation and taken to a local bus station for the out going and we had to seek our own return via public transportation... And best of it all we paid for a tour we never received.... worst experience ever

Our trip began very early and when we met our guide Richardo we've already traveled in a minibus and a train for 3 hours. Richardo was excellent with his knowledge of Andians and Machu Picchu experience. After the guided tour, I had the afternoon to walk around and go to the hot springs which was recommended by Richardo and it was awesome! I would like to only add that my return trip was little confusing catching the bus and train and the bus back to Cusco was not explained very well. I had to make my own way back from the train station looking for a bus to take me into Cusco.

Great tour, really enjoyed it. The only problem was they only pick you up if your hotel is in the very center and mine was not so I had to go to the central square and wait for their agent at 3am although the police were present there and I didn't feel threatened. Then they put you on minivan, take you to the railway station in Ollantaytambo, put you on a train that follows a very scenic route, then one of their agents meets you in Aguascalientes at the foot of the Machu Picchu mounatin and puts you on a bus that takes you to the summit where their guide meets you and guides you around Machu Picchu it was a very nice guy and a very informative tour. They repeat the same process to take you back to Cusco and drop you off near the main square where you have to call uber or a taxi which are plentiful or just walk to your hotel as most are nearby.

Machu Picchu is undoubtably worth a visit - for the nature, the history or even the personal photos. The tour planned out all the stages of getting from Cusco to Machu Picchu and back. The guide was responsive via text message in advance to confirm all the details. Our guide at Machu Picchu was great - giving a lot of history and information. The train travel was in the executive car and comes with delicious snacks and drinks while you overlook the gorgeous scenery. The only thing I wish that this tour had was a guide with you from start to finish, as it was a bit confusing how we get from one stage of the journey to the next.

Christina D, Aug 2016
The day before the tour a man came to our hotel unannounced, luckily we were there to receive him. In any case he provided us with important tour information. After his visit we both felt secure about the tour because before this we hadnt hear anything from the tour company. The man told us we needed to be ready between 3:30 to 4:00am the following morning to be picked up at our hotel. We were picked up a little after 4am. Subsequently we picked up other passengers,,, including friends of the driver which I found strange. The driver picked up people who were not a part of the tour and gave them rides to their homes, I assume. This caused us to barley make our train ride to Aguascalientes. The train ride went smooth. Once we arrived to Aguascalientes we got with our group and the tickets were purchased/redeemed. While waiting for this to be executed all of our group were just standing around waiting for our next directions. Finally after about 40 minutes we were told to go wait in line to get on the bus that would drive us up to Machu Picchu. We asked how long the wait would be and they told us 45mintues. We ended up waiting 2 hours, by this time it was passed 11am. We finally made it to the entrance of Machu Picchu,,,only to wait yet another hour for a specific tour guide to be done with his previous tour. I found out later that other guides were available to guide us through Machu Picchu, however the lady who was giving us direction wanted to wait for this specific guide. By the time we entered Machu Picchu it was close 1 in the afternoon. The tour would take 2 hours to complete. As directed the day before, we needed to be back at the train station by 3:20pm, to catch our 4:12pm train departure. To say the least my husband and I had to cut our tour short, we did not get the full tour due to time constraints. We left the tour at exactly 1:55 in the afternoon to be able to make it on time to catch a bus ride back to the train station. When we exited Machu Picch

It was a foggy day at the beginning, but then it cleared up late in the afternoon. Tour group was let on their own. I learned through other people's stories and their tour guides.
