Great Day Trip from Edinburgh
Paul_H, May 2024
Our tour was through Timberbushtours and was an exceptional day. Our guide/driver, Lorna, made the 12 hour tour seem much shorter with well planned stops not on the itinerary. We’d gladly spend another day touring with her. This trip went essentially from coast to coast up into the Scottish Highlands. Lost track of how many lochs and coos we saw during the day.
Worth it even if the weather doesn't fully cooperate
Julie_S, May 2024
Scott was an excellent driver and storyteller who made the miles fly by. I appreciated every chance to get out and explore a bit on our own, but it was also very helpful to learn so much Scottish history and culture along the way.
Response from Host, May 2024
Dear Julie_S, Thank you for your review! Scott certainly knows how to make his tours feel like a personalized experience. We are glad to hear you learned a lot of new and interesting facts about Scotland! We hope to see you again sometime soon so we can help you experience more of the magic of Scotland. Kind regards, Aleix
Amazing tour. You won’t be disappointed!
bscullin, May 2024
This trip was amazing, mainly because of our impressive bus driver and tour guide Caris. She was so professional and full of knowledge and fun. What a great storyteller!
Response from Host, May 2024
Hello and thanks for your great review, Our Glenfinnan tour is a longer one, but we like to ensure that there are plenty of stops and photo opportunities along the way, so I'm glad that this was the case and that you had a brilliant time with all the beauty Scotland has to offer. Hopefully we will see you again soon! Kind regards, Amy
Lovely tour
Carina_Z, May 2024
Karris our female bus driver was lovely and great at telling stories while hitting the road. Her song choices were great and she was a professional and reliable guide. We enjoyed the tour very much.

This tour is not for you
Arianna_R, May 2024
The excursion is beautiful. The times set for the locations was not well planned and you’re on a bus for the entire day 12 hours with hardly any time to enjoy the stops. Kenny our tour guide had a bad attitude at the beginning of our trip, awful from the start. He was expressing sarcasm and attitude and being extremely rude. He didn’t provide good information during the tour, often with moments of no information at all. Someone asked where the castle was and he said “I don’t know I was looking at my phone.”The jokes were crass. When we made it to Glennfinan the workers on the mountain said there would be the Harry Potter train passing through in the next 15 minutes. The majority of the group wanted to stay. Our guide Kenny was on a call with management and said “I’m just going to wait here for a moment and tell them there is nothing I can do.” He came around to tell us what he had stated on the phone. I was listening intentionally so I could speak to someone if needed. Kenny left 4 people in the group on the mountain and told them “If you stay, you need to figure it out.” I have never had someone not care for people on a tour and if there is ever a detour, guides have always been willing to accommodate what is necessary for the greater good of the entire group. Our guide Kenny was cold, rude, bitter, and didn’t provide good information on the tour, nor did he protect the people he was intended to serve for the day. The itinerary in the website was NOT correct. I was traveling alone or I would have stayed with the other four and been left. This was absolutely distasteful, disrespectful, and unprofessional and I will never be on a Timberbush tour again. It appears safety is not considered or valued with this company. I am hoping the people that stayed made it back to Edinburgh safely.
Response from Host, May 2024
Hi Arianna, Thank you for sharing your review, we're sorry to hear you didn't have a great time. We have also responded to the email you have sent in and issued you with a partial refund. I just wanted to reiterate, that we would never leave passengers behind without good reasoning to do so (i.e. the passenger has chosen to leave the tour) and are always on the other end of the phone to assist with travel back to Edinburgh for those who do choose to leave a tour, or were late back to the coach. We always phone passengers who have not returned to the coach on time and attempt to assist them to return to the coach. The safety of our passengers is our number one priority. Kenny acted on advice given by the transport manager on this specific date, and explained to everyone who didn’t want to return to the coach that they would have to make their own way back to Edinburgh, those who wanted to take the risk did stay behind. I am sorry again that you didn't enjoy your trip with us, and hope that you managed to soak in some of the beautiful sights despite the set back. Best wishes, Jodie

Beautiful
Maxine_M, Apr 2024
Robert our guide needs to study his history. I understand saying "um aye" is part of the pattern of speech in Scotland. But so many times he jumped around so many times 1700s no 1800s. Liked him much but with study comes confidence and fewer stumbles and starts. This baby is 12 hours and you get a real taste of the Highlands.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Maxine_M, Thank you for your review! Scotland certainly has a lot of history. We are so happy to hear you found The Highlands beautiful. Our Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe and Fort William Tour is one of the longest ones, so we are glad you were able to taste the Highlands. We hope to see you again sometime soon so we can help you experience more of the magic of Scotland. Kind regards, Aleix

Morag was Great!
Carrie_M, Apr 2024
Morag was witty and informative. She was patient with the inconsiderate tourists that didn't adhere to the time cutoffs. She took time to ensure we could see Highland cows up close. She warned us about availability of toilets.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed tour. It's wonderful that you found the tour well-organised and packed with loads of facts, and history. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! Our tour guide, Connor was very knowledgeable and had informative stories to go along with the drive. His jokes were also a fun touch. The drive itself was beautiful, the stops we made were well-timed and all picturesque. It was a very long day but well worth it.

The trip I didn't take
Kenneth_D, Apr 2024
I went to sleep early the night before the tour was scheduled due to the start time of the tour (0715) and because of this, I overslept my alarms (ironic, I know)(also set for 5am-ish due to me staying in Leith and needing to get to the departure location) and was unable to actually attend the tour with my friends who apparently thought the tour was wonderful with regard to the scenery, the lochs, and the cows. Although one fell asleep on the way back to Edinburgh and that makes me chuckle lol. Instead of doing the tour, I took the train to a few spots I otherwise wouldn't have been able to see during this trip (East Lothian, Glasgow, Aberdeen) and will see the highlands and do a more in-depth tour of Edinburgh on my next visit.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hi Kenneth_D, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It appears you have left us a 1 star review despite not experiencing our business due to you oversleeping. I'm glad you still got to see some of Scotland, and sorry you missed the opportunity to join the tour. Best wishes, Jodie
Just ok
Sherri_B, Mar 2024
The guide was awful. I understand that she was new, but she was truly horrible. The guide makes or breaks your experience (especially for 12 hours) We paid hundreds of dollars and were disappointed. We were also disappointed in the lunch restaurant. So many other cute restaurants/pubs we could have stopped at and they chose a cafeteria that ran out of all but 1 selection before we even ordered. The sites were nice, but we could have just driven ourselves and had a better day.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Sherri_B, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe and Fort William We're truly sorry to hear that your recent experience on tour with us was disappointing. Our aim is to provide our guests with a memorable and safe journey, and it's disappointing to learn that you feel that your experience fell short of that standard. We take all feedback seriously and were concerned about your comments regarding the driver/guide's behaviour. We understand that the guide's professionalism hasn't reached your expectations and we will investigate this case to be sure our driver/guide is enough prepared to run a tour. However, sometimes it is very difficult to strike the perfect balance in commentary and to find a sense of humour every passenger enjoys. I can assure you though that none of our drivers tries to be awful with our passengers deliberately. Again, we can only apologise. I'm sorry that you felt the restaurant we have chosen was not good enough, as you can imagine options in the highlands are quite limited. Although, we are glad to hear you liked our itinerary and enjoyed the places we visited. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services. We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you do decide to give us another opportunity in the future, we'd be more than happy to ensure a better experience for you. Kind regards, Aleix
Great tour and Guide

His extensive knowledge of Scottish history adds an extra layer to the experience. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for more memorable tours! We're looking forward to the chance to welcome you back for another tour. Best wishes, Mark
A Joyous Adventure with Timberbush Tours!
Noli_P, Mar 2024
I can't stop smiling after my recent tour with Timberbush Tours—it was an absolute blast! David and Adam were like the dream team of tour guides—clever, funny, and incredibly nice. Their witty banter and infectious laughter kept us all entertained, turning what could have been a simple tour into a joyful adventure. David's knowledge of the destinations we visited was impressive, and Adam's expert driving skills ensured a smooth ride throughout. I left the tour feeling not only enlightened about the places we explored but also uplifted by the genuine warmth and camaraderie shared by everyone onboard. Count me in for another tour with David, Adam, and Timberbush Tours—it's an experience I'd happily relive again and again!
