Fabulous photo tour

My wife and I spent four hours with Eva in the evening and night photography. She took us to some of the famous as well as hidden germs of Florence. She was very knowledgeable not only in photography, but also in the role as a local guide. The most fabulous moment was the blue hour after sunset. The change in sky colours with the Doumo was just amazing. I highly recommend the guide trip to people who want to explore more about photography in the evening and night.

a huge waste

I had booked this months in advance. Was looking forward to seeing Florence for the first time. I was staying in a town that is 50 minutes away, and drove into Florence just to do this excursion. Unbeknownst to me, the tour operator was meeting us at a place that you cannot drive to. So we were driving around and around and around in circles only to find out that we have to park the car and walk there for 30 minutes for us to meet her. No such instruction was given, and we ended up just wasting hours trying to get to her. We never got to meet our tour guide, I asked her if she can reschedule for the day after, she said she has no time. But I asked her if we can cancel, she said we cannot, she said that she didn’t realize that we were driving. so we just ended up, wasting our time, money, energy, and the experience of Florence. Had there been clearer instructions, I would have known. Terrible.

Great motivator, tutor and guide.

Eva was great. She showed us ways of getting the best out of architectural images and took us to some key places to photograph in the best light, and showed us some unusual compositions that are out of the ordinary, as well as suggestions for what to do next when photographing on our own. She summarised the key 'learning points' and suggested how to make the best of our images when we got home. Shame it was so short. Perhaps another time I would book for longer session.

And if you already know a few tricks, she'll lead you to some awesome places to take pictures! Eva did a great job of explaining the techniques, and then provided perfect places to practice. We had a wonderful, and educational, time on Eva's evening photography session in Florence. Originally, the thought was to sign up for the course in order to encourage the one, in our family, who uses a traditional camera. In the end, though, two more of us joined in with our iPhones also. Eva had a warm and welcoming demeanor, knows her subject well (both using a conventional camera as well as a mobile one), brought in some great information which tied into 'innovations' which were advanced in Firenze during the Renaissance, brought our attentive to new and creative ways to "capture" images, and was excellent moving between the various types of cameras. Excellent information, communication, and fun choice of sites. We would highly recommend Eva's evening tour, and just wish we could take a series of her classes. Grazie, Eva!
