Lack of communication

I’m sure this would have been a wonderful tour. I did not get to participate. I messaged the tour guide and asked questions and they were responsive. My last question, no one responded and I didn’t not get to participate on the tour.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Dear Mrs. Veronica, Thank you for taking time to share your feedback! Here is the copy-paste of our conversation: ------------------------- Hello. What time does your tour end ? Veronica M**** Sep 22, 2023, 01:20 PM Dear Veronica, Greetings from Florencetown - Towns of Italy. The tour ends at 10PM, back at our meeting point. Kind regards, Sofia Sep 22, 2023, 01:27 PM ------------------------ We've replied exactly 7 minutes after your first message, and received no other message. We are not sure why you didn't see our reply, still the statement you are making is pretty much incorrect. We also have a telephone number, which is clearly specified on your voucher, so we wonder why you didn't call us. It is a bit incoherent that your reason for not attending the tour was because you didn't receive any reply to your last message (even if we've actually replied), since all details about the meeting point and time (even the duration that you've double-checked) were specified on your voucher, so we really don't see which information was missing that you needed to ask, which was mandatory in order for you to attend. It is also not clear why you didn't call us, considering you thought we were not replying, since this information was very important to you. If you did, we would have been ready to assist with pleasure. At this stage, though, we are not able to assist anymore. We are really sorry you didn't have the chance to join this wonderful experience. We hope we'll have the possibility, in the future, to welcome you on board and show you the quality of our services. Kindest regards, Florencetown - Towns of Italy Customer Care

What a great tour! Dario was a great tour guide. He explained the process of making wine and olive oil very well. It was very nice experience to make our own wine and we had lots of fun. The diner was excellent! We really recommend this tour.

Leonardo was awesome

The wine tasting was amazing. It was my fiancé’s first time in Italy. He loved Florence, the fact that he was able to create his own wine, and experience the process of making it. He just loved it. We met a great couple, Anne and Austin from California , couldn’t have met a better couple to share this experience with. Leonardo, was outstanding. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. Will def recommend this wine tour.
Chianti Tuscan getaway
Raymond_R, Jul 2018
Had nothing to do with Chianti wine at all. Only the region. Started off with a ten minute walk from the check in to the van. Air conditioned van... not really! Driver only started the van ten seconds before we boarded. 25 minutes drive to the Tuescan hills. Not a word about where we were going or what we were seeing along the way. Get to the Diadema estate. 2 minutes for photo opportunity then into the basement for a two plus hour lecture and wine making games. Then upstairs towhat was supposed to be a four course dinner. I guess it was, but each course fed a child. And desert as the 4 th course was on the way back out to the van. All while the sun was setting with no opportunity to see it in the Tuscan hills. 25 minutes back to town, again not a word. And again no AC. Dropped off where we picked up the van. Again ten plus minutes from where we were supposed to start. Save your money. I’m sure there are better tours to see Tuscany

The villa is located on top of a hill so the views of the farmland and countryside were absolutely beautiful. However, our guide did not speak English very well and the group could see that she was trying super hard but struggling. I don't know if she was a last-minute substitute but it was not fair to the group that we couldn't receive a proper tour and missed out on some insights, and unfair to her to have to struggle like this as she looked a bit embarrassed. She took us to the wine cellar and tried to explain how the wine was made and new methods that the vineyard was experimenting with. Then we sat down to do a wine tasting and had a make your own wine session, where we could mix different grape varieties to custom make wine. Afterwards, we all went upstairs and sat in an enclosed patio for dinner we asked if we could sit in the open patio because the temperature was nice and the sun was setting but they said no. The food was ok and there was a decent amount. You will not go home hungry. If you're vegetarian, I would suggest that you mention that when you book the tour as all the courses contained meat except for dessert.

I cannot say enough about how enjoyable this tour was...from beginning to end. If you can only do one tour in Florence this should be it. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. Loved it!

I was a single traveller so this tour was a great way to experience a nice 4 course dinner with other people in the Tuscan countryside. Domiano, our guide was very informative and a perfect gentleman. Always ready to answer questions or bring us more food!! The food was amazing and we were all well fed. You will not go home hungry. The wine tasting was great and learned about wine making and olive harvesting. The villa and countryside was so beautiful. It is a nice change from the city. The views were spectacular.
Worst tour I made in...
Lucas_P, Apr 2017
Worst tour I made in Italy. First of all, the description of the tour promised things that didn't happen: dinner in a 1000 years old wine house? A stop in Piazzale Michelangelo to see the sunset? An opportunity to buy the wines? He had nothing of that. And though the landscapes were in fact beautiful our van had blackened windows so we couldnt enjoy the view. Then, there was our guide. The guy was completely lost. We were under the impression that it was his first tour, ever. Although he knew a lot about wine he didn't know how to conduct the tour and keep people interested in what we were doing/seeing. Sometimes he would just disappear and everybody would be looking at each other waiting for something to happen. He was clearly in need of an assistant. Second problem was the so called tasting. Basically our guide gave us a piece of hard, dry and tasteless bread worst bread I had in Italy with some drops of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and decided to call that a tasting. The whole thing took about 20 minutes and then we were leaving. We were expecting a real olive oil tasting like in the other tours we had been to with different olive oils to compare, discussions about it in a slow ad patience manner. About the dinner, well if it was any other part of the world I would say the food was OK but for Tuscany actually for Italy itself standards the food was bad. Not to mention that our guide abandoned us in the restaurant and would show up eventually when he wanted. For the food: The bruschetta was ridiculous a very small piece of that same tasteless bread with one cherry tomato on top. Really, that was it!. The cold cuts were very good and the tomato soup was OK, but the pasta and the pork were completely tasteless. The best part of the pork was the side of spinach. We had that same tomato soup papa al pomodoro and pork arista in the city restaurants and it was ten times better. The description also talks about a dessert. There was no dessert at all. The most important, the wine. All wines were great, really, we tasted 5 different amazing wines but the problem here was the amount of wine served. Our guide was serving the wine with a dosing nozzle on the bottle, actually measuring how much wine he was serving in each glass! Can you believe that? Wasn't that supposed to be a wine enthusiast dinner? He would put about a quarter of the glass and then disappear until it was time for another type of wine. I wanted to drink more and when I finally got to ask him, he just questioned me about it, telling me he had already served me the standard amount. What!? I insisted twice until he finally served me less than a quarter of the glass. We were very pissed with that because in all the other tours we made we had plenty of wine served, they would even put the bottles on the table for us to serve ourselves. In conclusion, the tour was expensive for what it delivers, it wasn't worth our time and we all ended the day very disappointed. From all tours we had in Italy this was undoubtedly the worst. I would not recommend this tour to any one although I recognize that the company responsible for this tour have everything to make it great, I would love to give 5 stars but we really felt deceived on this one. Please guys, measuring the wine amounts? In Italy? Come on.... I really hope this comment will make them change all this and actually follow the idea they are selling in the tour description.

The experience here was definitely worth the money. They provided a great tour with good information, the meal was good, the wine was good. If I had a negative it would be it was a bit commercialized, but that could be as compared to the previous place we went to the night before. Plus, the wine we bought there was actually cheaper when we got back home. Not complaining as we loved the wine, just would've waited to purchase.

It was a fun evening out of town. I wish they would have told us the meeting point for the van instead of meeting at the Florence office. We would have taken a taxi so my aging mother didn't have to walk as far. It was an easy walk for regular individuals though! Other than that, it was great!

We had such a great time on this tasting! The drive out to the castle gives you a chance to see some of the countryside and once you arrive the food and tasting are great. The food was delicious, we got to try some great wines and it was very interesting to hear about winemaking in the region. The most incredible part of the evening though is the view. The castle is on a hill which gives you an incredible view of both the vineyards and olive trees - like something out of a movie. We got to go out between courses and see the sunset which was perfect!

had a good time with our adult family. If you already know how wine and EVO are made then you may not learn anything new. Martina was cheerful but rather busy in the adjacent restaurant which had smorgasbord..... Wish we did....because not get enough meat in our dinner!

Amazing dinner and wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting. More food than we could eat and Marisa was very attentive to us and even though we were the only couple that signed up for the tour they honored our reservation. they were extremely aware of my. Garlic allergy and made all our courses from scratch. Definitely buy the honey with white truffles while you are there.
