What To Expect

Meet your guide in Krakow’s Main Market Square in time for a 2pm departure and set out to explore the city’s UNESCO-listed Old Town.

Follow your guide down the Royal Route, and walk in the footsteps of the Polish Kings as you hear about Krakow’s stint as the royal capital. Pause to see historic landmarks such as St. Florian's Church, and admire the grand medieval buildings along Floriańska, Grodzka, and Kanonicza Streets.

Arrive at Wawel Castle and spend time exploring the magnificent castle complex, including the Cathedral, the Royal Chambers, and the Armory. Marvel at the Medieval, Romanesque, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles, and take in the views from the top of Wawel Hill, gazing out over the Vistula River and the gold-roofed Sigismund Chapel.

Continue to Rynek Główny, where the star attraction is the 13th-century St. Mary’s Basilica, home to an impressive altarpiece by Veit Stoss, and some striking paintings by artists including Matejko, Mehoffer, and Wyspiański. Nearby, St Peter and Paul’s Church is another important religious monument, build in the 17th century and still the most significant Jesuit church in Krakow.

After enjoying a coffee break (own expense) at a local café, visit one of the city’s most photographed landmarks – the elaborate Cloth Hall and the Underground Museum.

Your tour ends around 5pm back in the Main Market Square.

Knowledgeable guide!

The guide was brilliant although the weather was bitterly cold and spoilt the walk a bit. Would love to do it again when in better weather hence no star deducted as the history great and the guide very knowledgeable
Excellent!

Everything, Izabella was amazing, engaging, intelligent, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patriotic. In 3 hours, I received a great historical tour of Krakow, that I could listen to her all day.
Excellent tour delivered by a seasoned guide

This tour and our guide Robert delivered so much value for the low cost. Time flew as he not only explained the sites but also shared Kraków’s history in depth. The pacing was good, with a well-timed bathroom break and later stops strategically located near benches. It was a great way to spend what little time I had in Krakow after a week of meetings in a nearby town.
Wonderful Tour of Krakow in Central Europe

Our guide Joanna was excellent and her knowledge of Krakow was outstanding.. As a lifelong resident of Krakow, she was very proud of her city.
Great experience
Marianne_K, Oct 2024
Our tour guide was a walking encyclopedia. She gave us so much information. It was incredible. Krakow is a beautiful town, but you do appreciate what you see and understand a lot better and more when you’ve been on a walking tour with a guide. I recommend this to everybody.
Everything you want to see in Old Town and more
Debbie_D, Oct 2024
Our guide Johanna was great! She knew her history. We walked all over the Old Town and she pointed out and told us the history of obvious buildings but also took us to see some “hidden” places - things not on the main path. We saw the insides of some buildings that we would never have found on our own. She was able to answer all our questions and we learned a lot about the history of Poland and Krakow. Excellent tour!
Great way to spend 3 hours in a new city
Kenneth_G, Oct 2024
A great tour, Gregory is a human dynamo with great knowledge and enthusiasm, and the odd joke thrown in! We got some good tips for things to do and places to eat which we would have otherwise missed, so well worth doing this trip.

Beautiful day out and our guide Joanna was knowledgeable and loved how she got everyone to introduce themselves and say a bit of their travels. Its a great tour to get knowledge of old town and there are recommendations of other things she suggested depending on interest. I would definitely recommend thank you.

Enlightened tour of Krakow old Town
Rosemary_R, Sep 2024
The tour guide gave us a very informative tour of Krakow old town. She was very knowledgeable with an obvious enthusiasm for her subject and was very patient with answering questions from different members of group. The tour lasted approximately 3 hours. You do need to have good mobility, not just for walking but also for standing whilst the guide provides information on a particular place or building. Well worth the time doing this tour to orientate yourself to Krakow Old Town.
Historical Walk - Highly Recommend
Adam_J, Sep 2024
My Husband and I did the walking tour our first day in Krakow. It was a great way to learn the geography and history so we were acquainted with the area the rest of our weekend. Our guide Johanna had great knowledge of the Lon history of the area and took pride in her sharing her culture. If you enjoy a stroll while being told historical stories, we highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful introduction to Krakow
Wendy_B, Sep 2024
Joanna was a wonderful guide! She was so informative. The history was really interesting, and the tour is just the right length to get an initial taste of Krakow. Note that the palace visit is only on the grounds and doesn’t include the indoor museum. That’s separate.
Ask for Joanna
Robert_A, Sep 2024
Joanna was fantastic. The tour was informational and moved at a great pace. The Wawel palace is for sure a highlight
