Getting told that our pick up time had moved from 10am to 4:30am which was totally unacceptable. The tour itself was however very interesting

Let down by transport/organisers

Auschwitz is a must do trip to pay your respects and remember the atrocities that happened here . However don’t go with Viator. Time changed the day before. Pick up location changed the day before. Then whilst on the bus home a message saying we won’t drop you where we agreed we’re dropping you off in a different location further from where you want to be.

Day trip to Auschwitz

We had an amazing time despite the excursion subject. The shuttle drivers to and from the hotel were great and chatty and were happy to recommend other activities and advise on the best places to eat and drink. Greggorie was our tour guide and delivered with sinceretity and passion. His knowledge and delivery of the tour was top notch! A very long day but we'll worth it. Highly recommended

Worth a visit but a little disappointed at the service provided

We booked a meeting time of 10.10am, pick up from our apartment was not an option. The night before we were contacted by Discover Krakow who told us our meeting time had changed to 6.30am. I was not very happy to do this but was told there was no alternative. This meant a 5.30am start for us and we did not have time to eat and nothing was open to pick up food, particularly difficult for our teenage son as it made the day tiring for us all and not the best experience. We understood the time would be confirmed the night before and may change, what we didn't think was that it would be as much as 4 hours or that early in the morning. We were also notified after the 24 hour cancellation period so there was no chance of a refund. On boarding the minibus we were then told that there were no English speaking guides at the museum and that someone from the office would be translating a Polish guide for us instead. Whilst the lady who did this was very nice and tried her best and her English is a lot better than my polish, but, she was obviously inexperienced, it was not very clear and difficult to understand at times particularly through the headsets and if at the back of a group and I missed a lot of the information. I am sure Discover Krakow will say this is not their fault, but it certainly wasn't mine and they are the company who offer to provide this tour. I think at the very least they should be more transparent and say there is a possibility the time slot may change by as much as four hours then at least I could either choose not to book or be more prepared. I was glad we visited and both the tour guides were nice and I wouldn't want to say anything bad about them but for several reasons, it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

Our tour was scheduled for 0630 got there and was told that our tour was moved to 1015. Nobody bothered to try and contact us before then to tell us it was rescheduled. Sat around Krakow for hours before anything was open. Then the translator we had behaved like it was her first day on the job and didn’t have a large enough vocabulary to translate properly. Feel like I could have learned more with a better translator.

The trip itself was very interesting and obviously upsetting but very educational. Our pick up time was changed from 10.15am to 5.30am with not much notice even though I booked my trip well in advance. The company did arrange a private taxi to collect us from our hotel and take us back though.

It was terrible you can believe that they called me the I have not before about 9 10 at night to "confirm" my assistant to my tour of 6:30 am.But what a surprise that took me the next day my reservation was not at 6:30 because they had changed it at 4:30 in the morning so I lost my reservation. I tried to call send gmails but I didn't have answers until noon so I lost all my morning the tour money was a fatal experience

You didnt provide us a tickets that we paid ten days before our visit to Auswitz, and took us at 4.30 to Auswitz to stand in the line and see if we had luck and find some available tickets. Not to mention that outside was 7 degrees, wind and rain. Worst experience and never ever nowhere with you!

We informed our customers a week earlier about the situation and the possibility of a refund. People who agreed to take part in the trip knew about the early pickup time and the possibility of a long wait. Big group on a big bus so had to be separated into two smaller groups. The green group were so late back to the bus (over 45 mins we waited) after Austwich that our time in Birkenau was cut ridiculously short - less than 30 mins. We didn't even get to see the memorial at Birkenau. We felt we were cheated out of a major part of the tour. The guides should have: A. Told groups what time the bus was leaving instead of the vague, “we will be here for maybe 90 mins, maybe 1 hour 45”. Had they said, “the bus leaves between 1-1:15” then the second group wouldn’t have held us up (they went to get coffee and drinks then sat in the sun whilst we waited on the bus!) B. Give out the entry tickets on the bus during the journey from Krakow. Instead we arrived in the car park, we were all asked to get off, and only then did the guide decide to give out the tickets which took about 20 minutes. This was down to the amount of people in group and the fact that the guide had difficulty pronouncing the names. All in all, it was chaos and so disorganised.

HOW DISAPPOINTING

We booked this tour on 15 March to attend on 23 March, and we received confirmation that it was all booked for a time of 10.10am. Less than 24 hrs beforehand the tour, we were contacted by the operator in Poland to state that the tour had been cancelled and the only option would be 5.30am, waiting in line for up to 5hrs to see if there were any available tickets which were not guaranteed. We declined this offer and are yet to receive a full refund as promised - we have used Viator for many years and have also recommended them to family and friends, we will think twice before doing this again

Good Tour Guide-Terrible Logistics

The actual tour was pretty good; the tour guide was very familiar with both of the camps that were included in this tour. The tour guide was able to “tell the story” of the holocaust to include how it unfolded and how it finally ended. I did, however, lower my rating because the tour operator called me the evening before the tour to tell me that the hotel pickup option I selected was cancelled and that the meeting time for the bus was moved from the originally booked 10:00 am to 6:30 am.

We were a group of 5 adults I feel that the whole experience was rushed our guide spoke very fast and rushed round the both camps . If you were at the back of the group she was out of that room before they had even got in . I was very dissatisfied with day half of the second camp was missed we sore the male quarters and the gas chamber but then female and children’s quarters were missed everyone I spoke to who was in our group was not happy with the tour we received.

The transportation and admission waiting time (15 mins) was good, though there was a bit of a hiccup with the admission tickets for 3 of us who are solo visitors. Did not allow for any time to look at bookstore at Auschwitz, only at the Birkenau bookstore at the end of the tour.
