Overview

Ninja culture is not something visitors to Japan can just easily immerse themselves in, but this 2-hour, hand-on lesson offers an exclusive experience. In a small group of no more than six people, learn ninja techniques including ninja breathing, ninja meditation, and how to wield a ninja sword.

Fun Ninja experience

Ninja experience was very fun and enjoyable. We learned so many cool Ninja techniques. The instructor was lovely and quite fun. I think everyone had a great time in our class. Great for everyone. I would recommend this to everyone.

I could say I love this experience a million times! I traveled over solo and wanted to do something spontaneous in Kyoto and this was the perfect fit. They dressed you up in their own designed ninja attire and walked you through all the basics. They took pictures and videos for you that you get to your email the same exact day which was amazing. The staff was so sweet and patient with us and the group was not so big that you couldn’t enjoy yourself. Definitely try this out!

Amazing class! Very thorough, organized and fun! Learned a lot about ninja techniques and had a great time during it. Worth the money and would recommend. Completed with husband and there was also a family with kids- great for ALL ages!

My 10yo son and myself (mom) had so much fun!! We both were dressed in traditional ninja clothes. We were able to learn about meditation practices & most common weapons ninja used were professionally demonstrated. We were also allowed to try each of the weapon ourselves on targets!! They also took pictures for us and emailed it same day.

We had a fantastic experience! The instructor is knowledgeable, friendly, great English. It was a ton of fun and still accessible, even as a middle aged couple who is not very limber. They took lots of wonderful photos for us. I didn't know what to expect and thought it might be hokey, but it was not at all - very fun and legitimate.

So much fun! My wife was working so I decided to try this experience off Viator and was not disappointed! Learned everything from various ninja hand signs for meditation (kuji-kiri), how to walk like a ninja, using various weapons such as the ninja swords, sickle with chain, and then of course got to throw ninja stars and shoot blow darts! The instructors were highly knowledgeable and showed things in a way anyone could understand. They also took photos throughout and sent via email afterwards! Absolute blast of a way to spend 2 hours and recommend to anyone who wants a nice little side adventure when staying in or around Kyoto!

Great experience! Every aspect was well-done. We had so much fun learning some ninja skills - everything from traditional hand postures to walking silently in the dark through a minefield of sharp objects. We worked on stealth, defense, offense, focus, and flexibility... all in two hours. Highly recommend -absolutely wonderful class, teachers, and studio.

Incredible shinobi tour. The tour guide/shinobi master is definitely an expert. I don’t want to throw shade on other tours but in my stay I went to a few that were half B/S and I could definitely say this tour is not one of those. It is a legit shinobi tour. I had an amazing experience, and the Shinobi master even teaches you great techniques that you can use for the rest of your life if you want a real Shinobi experience I 100% recommend the store.

Amazing immersive Japan experience

Dressing up in the ninja outfit immediately got you into the atmosphere. We got to actually try lots of the ninja weapons like ninja stars, swords and throwing stars. The ninja leader was Japanese and spoke English really well. He was very encouraging and made it a wonderful cultural experience.

It was a great experience with a highly skilled teacher! I was alone there, so it was actually a private lesson. Dressing up like a ninja immediately puts you in the role. I learned some basic ninja meditation and walking like a ninja. Initially, I was taught to use my toes as sensors and evade traps (spikes on the floor) even in darkness. I practiced hiding behind a rotating wall. The rest of the training involved using several ninja weapons: swords [ninja and samurai], different types of shuriken, kunai, rope, darts and kusarigama (chain-sickle). Every weapon had its own ritual, handling and respect. There was also a display with several other ninja tools/weapons, which were explained. My excitement did not fade out during the whole day.

As a martial artist I thought this experience was fantastic. Hands on with all form of weapons from sword to Shiraken. Take family, friend or partner to this awesome experience. I cannot recommend this enough!

What a surprisingly fun class! The instructor and his assistant were wonderful! My son, 19, my wife and I all loved the class! It was a mix of history, sword play and movement (stealth and trap evasion). We loved it. If we get a chance we'll definitely go back for more!
