What To Expect

One of the largest bodies of water in Italy, Lake Como's best sights vary with the time of year you visit. On this tour, travel with a guide to discover the highlights of the area around the lake with an itinerary tailored to the season. Food and drinks are at your own expense throughout the day.

Winter Tour: (November to March)

Relax on the morning journey from Milan to Lake Como. Hop out to stretch your legs on a tour of Como, the lake’s main town, and learn about its key sights around the historic center. From town, take the gondola to the village of Brunate, a serene spot in the hills above Como.

Gaze down at the lake, flanked by the Rhaetian Alps, and then make the most of some free time for lunch. Return to Como by gondola before the highlight of your day: a Lake Como boat tour. The water offers the best vantage point to see the lake and shorelines; keep an eye out for chic villas and luxury hotels as you cruise. Cernobbio’s opulent Villa d'Este hotel is one such sight with its grandiose façade and tropical gardens. 

After your return to shore, enjoy some free time to see the sights at your own pace, shop or perhaps sip a coffee. Then, finish your time in Como with a visit to the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio, a Romanesque-style 11th-century church, before your return to Milan. 

Summer Tour: (April to October)

After your coach journey from Milan, start your tour of Como with a look inside two of its historical attractions: the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio. Continue into Como’s historic center, and use your free time to get to know the town at your own pace with some sightseeing or shopping for Lake Como keepsakes.

Meet back with your guide for a scenic cruise around Lake Como, admiring the hillside villas and hotels, and pose for photos against the backdrop of the alps.

Return to dry land in time for your trip to the colorful seaside town of Bellagio, which many pinpoint as a highlight of the lake. Spend some time at your leisure here to explore and perhaps savor lunch. Later, cruise to Cadenabbia, then return to your coach for the journey back to Milan.

got to see george Klooney's villa....nice view from the boat ride...panoramic views were awesome...big shout out to our tour guide katrina...spoke english italian and spanish...was a bit chilly ..but best time to go i suppose is mid april to mid may

Our guide Giuse (Josie?) was fantastic and she made the experience really smooth all the way through. She was very knowledgable and made sure that we all knew where we were going and what we were doing. The trip over all was awesome and the views were amazing!

Tremezzo and Bellagio were fantastic. The boat tour was great. Really made the trip worthwhile. Our guide Angelo was very informative. Como, was meh. The pick up from the hotel is interesting. They just drop you off on the street and you wait half an hour until the tour bus shows up. Could be better described in the instructions.
Disappointing tour but area was beautiful to see

Loved the scenery and towns but our tour guide, Angelo, was disappointing. Very little information about sites shared. He was very difficult to hear on boat tour (which was 1 hour only) and the tours in Bellaggio and Como amounted to a couple of comments and then we were given our free time.

A fantastic day trip and a beautiful part of the country. I was surprised that we spent so much time in Bellagio vs Como itself, several hours vs approx 1 hour, but cannot fault their judgement. Bellagio is the epitome of what you expect of Lake Como and you can easily while away days here. Our guide Alejandro was so fun and knowledge. All round an excellent tour.

Alejandro was a great guide. This was the perfect way to spend a day in Lake Como while visiting Milan. There are quite a few logistics, so having someone take you there effortlessly is worth the money alone. He was very informative and gave many options for free time, so you didn’t feel tied to a tour. Great option for a solid traveler as well as groups. Bellagio was like a storybook, and the boat tour around the lake was dreamy.

This was an amazing tour! Lake Como and Belagio are beautiful and our tour guides were fantastic. Everything about this tour went well…our group size was manageable, the tour bus was clean and comfortable, the amount of time we had at each stop was perfect, the boat ride to Belagio was breathtaking, and our tour guides were so friendly and knowledgeable. We also found the tour to be very family friendly…we had a 5 year old and a 2 year old with us and they both enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend this tour to others. My biggest pieces of advice are to wear comfy shoes because there’s a lot of walking, bring a stroller if you’re bringing young children, and make sure you get to the meeting spot early because it was a little tricky to find initially and they left right on time.

Completely useless tour, no value add above taking a train to Como and a ferry ride to Bellagio whatsoever. Not enough time to spend in Como, too much time - in Bellagio. The tour guide spoke three languages... oh well, he repeated the same sentence three times. It was unbearable as the mind was always alert as to not miss a sentence in English. Not happy, don't recommend.

Bellagio was beautiful but it wasn’t worth $125 dollars. I purchased tickets a week before the tour. I opted for pick up to be safe. The day before I received a phone call and was informed my trip was without hotel pick up. I tried requesting for partial refund for having to find my own transportation. But it has now been a hassle to get it. Bellagio itself is beautiful. Hands down. But they exaggerate the trip experience. The Church is free admission regardless. It took a quiet some time to get to the lake. About 2 hours. I believe it’s because of the sizes of the tour buses. The bus caused lots of congestion. Traffic had to be stopped in order to make room for the buses. After Bellagio we were told we would have time to explore COMO City. It took about 2 hours to get there. The bus driver tried to play it off that it’s not usually this much traffic. But after doing some digging in the reviews I learned this is what they always say. We had about 50 minutes total to walk to the center and back to the bus. Basically you are paying for transportation. I would suggest finding a cheaper way and explore on your own.

The meeting area was poorly defined. The tour guide was not concerned about the tour members. In Bellagio, she left the dock area without making sure all the tour group was off the boat. Describe the Duomo in Como as being nearby the bus drop off location. Not so at all. I would recommend not going to Como at all. We did not see any of the charming areas as the bus was too big. The bus driver Peter was fabulous. He managed a very tricky traffic situation that even required the police be called.

Though it rained for a good part of the trip, my friend and I were happy to see tour the Lake Como by boat (it was covered so we didn't get wet), Bellagio was a wonderful village where we had lunch and Como City was a wonderful mix of new and old.

Very good tour guides (Monica and Andreas).Their banter makes the perfect and interesting bus ride. The view is breathtaking,however the quaint cafes and shops are a bit expensive.

The bus was not a regular tour bus, it has seat both facing front and back. Boat ride not accommodating, you can smell the gas fumes on the lower deck The walking tour is too hectic and our guide not attentive to guests if able to follow her lead.
