What To Expect

Get on one of the open-air double-decker buses for a hop-on hop-off tour of Milan. There are three bus routes to choose from, with more than 30 combined stops between them, so you can find a stop close to where you are and where you want to go.

The route for Line A, the red line, includes the Milan Duomo (Cathedral), the 14th-century Castello Sforzesco and the renowned La Scala opera house, one of the most famous theaters in the world. The entire loop of Line A takes 90 minutes.

The route for Line B, the blue line, includes the skyscrapers of Palazzo Lombardia, the Porta Venezia (one of the historic city gates) and the Santa Maria delle Grazie church, in which Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” fresco can be seen.

The route for Line C, the green line, includes the massive San Siro football (soccer) stadium, the Monumental Cemetery and a stop near the shopping quarter around Via Montenapoleone.

With your hop-on hop-off ticket good for either 24 or 48 hours (you choose the option), explore Milan at your own pace, getting off the bus at any stop you like to see an attraction or simply do some shopping. What’s more, the three routes mentioned are connected, so it’s no trouble at all to switch from one to the other in order to cover more ground in the whole city of Milan.

Good start
Rod_S, Apr 2024
Great way as usual to get an initial feel for the city. As many of the sights are apart. Rain impacted us on top deck but that is a risk.
Magic!
Harry_A, Apr 2024
Como lake cruise, Bellagio and Como town were all magical. Must see for first timers like me. It would have been perfect had the bus been on time.
Basic Experience
Juliana_M, Apr 2024
My family and I enjoy doing Hop On/Hop Off tours in major cities to get an initial lay of the land when we first arrive in a place & get a broad overview of the major sites with some interesting facts. The one in Milan was no different and overall, we enjoyed it. It offers several different routes to take & covers all the important sites. However, there were several problems. There isn’t a map available of the different available stops on either the Viator app or the CitySightseeing Bus site - the CitySightseeing site doesn’t even have Italy available as an option! It wasn’t until we got onboard that we were able to get a paper map with the different available routes. The other problems are technological. The audio on a good many seats did not work at all — my husband had to move seats 3x to find an audio that worked. The top level seats are popular & folks had to keep moving seats around because of it. The other big issue is that the audio doesn’t necessarily match up with the actual location. Many times the narrator would be describing something that we had already passed or hadn’t come to yet so we didn’t know what we were seeing. If they could fix these glitches, it would be a much better experience.

I’m sure the rain impacted my experience, but we generally use a hop on/hop off to get the feel for a city when we first arrive. It was good to get out of the rain, but didn’t walk away with better sense of the city of Milan.

Great way the orientate yourself around the City. Highly recommended. Just be aware that traffic is crazy and by the end of the day the fumes can be bad
Audio tour doesn't work.
Tom_S, Apr 2024
Audio does not work on any of the buses. Basically, you are getting a ride around Milan. The vehicle is very dirty. Do NOT sit on the bottom.. it is a miserable experience.
Services not delivered
Allan_B, Apr 2024
Absolutely terrible, a complete shambles. No buses untill 1.40pm due to a marathon happening, wish they had told us prior to booking!!!! When the buses did start we waited at 2 different stops and no buses came. Used the live app and they were mostly stuck in the same location. Will be going back to Big Bus in the future. Also struggling to get a refund for this.
Crap

Shelleyanne_S, Apr 2024
The Duomo was spectacular as always. The bus driver and the tour guide were very helpful getting me on and off the bus on my mobility scooter!
Worth the money
Christina_Y, Feb 2024
Great tour, it was so convenient getting to and from places without having much experience in Milan.

Hello, thank you for reviewing our service!
Buy a day-long bus pass instead!!!
Michael_P, Feb 2024
It was a bore. Really just a very expensive bus ride (thru lots of traffic) with lousy narration via cheesy ear plugs.

Infrequent services and told to sit upstairs in open top bus in the rain. Bus just drives through city streets, you can catch a public tram which is a lot cheaper
Great way to get to know Milano!

What a great way to get to know Milano! The tour was well organized, the guides were very friendly and the views were awesome!
Milan hop on off bus
Ivette_P, Nov 2023
Very difficult to see outside following the instructions in the audio but at least we had a fast view of Milan and then come back to see it
Do not recommend
Tracy_O, Nov 2023
Seats wet. Please provide paper towels. Schedule unreliable. Bus left earlier than timetable said. No control over queues for boarding. Waited 20 mins and last minute dozens of people shoved in front and got on bus.

Takes you all over the city in 1.5 hrs! Such an easy way to see Rome and learn amazing history that explains the culture!
Disappointed in Milano
Andrew_S, Oct 2023
We were disappointed with this hop on hop off service. We have used this bus line in many international cities and for the most part, communication and customer service is great. Milano HOHP lacked in everything. From busses not on time (real time app is a joke), to agents not able to answer basic questions and the biggest disappointment was the narrative guide on the bus. I typically go away from these tours having learned a few things about the city I'm visiting and a fun catchy tune, but this was not any of those. FYI there is another Milano hop on hop off, look them up and use them instead.
It was too short
Bernardo_L, Oct 2023
Duomo was the highlight and I liked that there were different routes based on the types of attractions. I don’t think that stopping tours at 7pm is enough in a city as rich as Milan
Informative and useful
elenaollson, Oct 2023
We enjoyed the the lines we used. Staff was helpful and courteous. It was convenient to be able to go around and see where we were going and then choose when to get off
