What To Expect

See the chief sights and landmarks of Milan on this info-packed guided walking tour. With your guide by your side the entire time, you'll be within earshot of the city's fascinating history. Start off at the gorgeous Duomo, a huge and ornate gothic structure and one of the most beautiful churches in the world.

Then stroll over to nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, maybe one of the most aesthetically pleasing shopping malls on the planet. Its impressive 19th-century glass ceiling is worth a look in and of itself. After walking through the Galleria, stop in front of La Scala, the city's main opera house and one of the most renowned in Europe. Built in the late 18th century, La Scala has seen a who's who of famed composers and musicians in the last 200 years.

Head over to the trendy and cool Brera district, crammed with funky boutiques, trendy bars and hip restaurants. Home to the city's Bohemian set, the neighborhood's streets are picturesque and make for a pleasant stroll. Eventually, you'll find yourself at imposing Sforza Castle, where you can take some time to admire the late-medeival fortress.

The last stop and the highlight of the day is your skip-the-line admission to Leonardo de Vinci's The Last Supper. After you breeze past the line, head inside the former food hall of the convent. You get 15 minutes in front of the masterpiece, so use it wisely. Make sure you step back and see the painting in a larger context: that the monks who ate there felt like they were dining with Jesus and his disciples.

After your 15 minutes are over, head outside where the tour concludes.

Please note: The above itinerary is applicable to options departed from Piazza Duomo only. If you select a departure time from Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie , the tour will start at The Last Supper and finish with the walking tour around Piazza del Duomo. Visits inside the Duomo are not possible on Sundays or religious holidays. On these days, a detailed tour will be given from outside of the Duomo

Barbara the guide was excellent! Very knowledgeable about what we were seeing. Good friendly personality. Recommended!!
Solid tour but not exceptional
KENT_Z, Apr 2024
The tour itself was good although I would prefer a smaller group. The biggest problem was understanding what the guide was saying. She had a heavy Italian accent and spoke very rapidly and the earphone transmitters were not the best so it seemed like we were all struggling to understand the descriptions of what we were looking at.

The Duomo was majestic! A must see! Our guide, Barbara, was knowledge, enthusiastic, humorous, and proud of her city. It was endearing to hear her say that her day is incomplete if she doesn’t see the Duomo at least once.

The whole tour was wonderful from start to finish. Our tour guide Sylvia was excellent in every way. She was very engaging and easy to understand. The small group was perfect and not over crowded. Could not have been happier.

First time for everything CANCELED

The tour was booked and confirmed in late January. The evening before the tour the operator called and canceled. Claimed it never should have been confirmed and charged to my account. This left me scrambling to find another tour at the last minute.
Nice Tour!

Sylva was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. She was very patient with the headset issues and we really enjoyed the tour. Bathroom break should be longer in the future.
Good tour guide and a comprehensive tour
Sweekeng_C, Apr 2024
Our guide Luciani was superb, providing interesting facts and she spoke almost non-stop for the entire 3 hours. A good tour of Milan’s top attractions. Audio devices were provided so that we can hear the guide throughout the tour. Would recommend this company and the tour if you have only one day on Milan
Be careful about meeting place and time
n828bc, Apr 2024
Tour clearly set to start at 1pm. Arrived at 12:53pm and found out (by calling Viator as nobody was there) that request to arrive 15 minutes was on booking. Well, okay, but why did your tour leave ten minutes EARLY? If tour starts at 1pm, shouldn’t you wait until 1pm? Was offered a reschedule, but had no time in Milan to do that.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hi n828bc, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced due to the early departure of the tour. Our standard procedure is to wait until the scheduled start time before departing. We understand your frustration and acknowledge that this departure was not in line with our usual practices. Rest assured, we take feedback seriously, and we will investigate this issue internally to prevent it from happening again in the future. As a gesture of goodwill, we would like to offer you a full refund for the tour. Please reach out to our customer service team with your booking details, and we will process the refund promptly. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding. Sincerely, The City Wonders Team
Too much wasted time on a hot day
Jerome_K, Apr 2024
There are only two notable stops on the tour, the Duomo and the last supper but the tour lasted three hours. I felt that the guide was stalling so as to make the time for the last supper. That meant a lot of wasted, walking and standing. Also, at the end of the tour, we were kind of dumped off at the church with no directions, as to how to get back to where we started. The tour could be done in about an hour and a half if you were quickly transported between the two locations to make an earlier reserved time. Since we were a long way from the parking garage near the Doumo, it would also have been nice to know where the nearest cab stand was.
Bucket list tour
Pat_A, Apr 2024
Great experience seing the last supper-a bucket list experience. Guide was awesome just did not have enough time to have a relaxing tour. Needed 15 to 30 more minutes to get to our appointed entrance time for the last supper. The route and history along the way excellent. Need to figure out a way to start closer to the last supper and continue on with the tour after. Meeting at the Duomo was very convenient but again needed a different sequence to allow for a relaxing non-rushed tour of the other locations visited.
Great experience

Fantastic tour!
Sheri_R, Apr 2024
Excellent time! We saw so many beautiful places in just one tour. Our guide Debbie was fantastic with her knowledge of history on all of the places we visited. Debbie was informative and interesting the entire tour. We also had plenty of time at each location and was still able to stop for a short break for a drink and bathroom. Thank you Debbie!
