On the outskirts of Vegas, once the neon lights fade and the sound of traffic is replaced by the rush of the wind, the Valley of Fire is a geologic wonder that’s best explored on two feet. • Choose an easy, moderate, or difficult guided hike among the red rock formations and petroglyphs
  • Keep your energy up with complimentary snacks and water

Pickup details

Pick up will be at your hotel or a hotel relatively close. You will be contacted 1-2 days before your reservation date to confirm pick up time and exact location. If you are staying at a hotel or rental home away from the strip or downtown you will be asked to go to the nearest Strip or Downtown hotel property.

What To Expect

Depending upon which option you choose, this Valley of Fire hiking tour either leaves Las Vegas at sunrise, or later in the day in the late morning or early afternoon. Once you meet with the rest of your group, which won’t exceed 13 people, leave the lights of Vegas behind and begin to commune with nature, as you travel out into the wide-open desert.

Along the drive, make a stop at the Moapa Indian Reservation to pick up some fireworks, liquor, or cigarettes that are completely duty-free.

When you enter the Valley of Fire State Park, your guide explains the area’s history as well as its fascinating geology, and leads you to the trailhead of whichever hike you’ve chosen.

Over the course of the trek through the park, learn about the erosion and seismic fault lines that have created the rugged terrain, all while surrounded by a surreal landscape of enormous, deeply red rocks. For thousands of years, Native American-Indian tribes have lived and survived in this landscape, and your guide offers some fascinating insight to their legends, history, and myths, as well as point out some ancient petroglyphs that have been here for 3,000 years.

Water and snacks are provided for the hike, and once you’ve conquered the dusty trail and soaked up the epic beauty, you have the chance to explore the Valley of Fire official visitors center. On the car ride back to Las Vegas, rest your legs and watch the scene slowly change outside the window, as the windswept desert slowly gives to the glitz, glamor, and lights.

This was an amazing experience led by Nick (and Tommy, who was in training). Nick was very knowledgeable about the area, the history, and the various plants / animals in the region. Both guides were super friendly and patient, and tailor to what you are looking for. The landscape was gorgeous. Nick was also very prompt to arrive and the vehicle was in great shape. Totally recommend this tour if you are visiting Vegas - a wonderful way to spend your time!

Great trip. Our guide, Matt, was great. He was very knowledgeable, welcoming and catered to hike to our needs and desires. He took us away from more touristy hike paths and we had super sights to see. Recommend this to anyone going to Las Vegas.

We went, our boys are 8 and 10, for the moderate hike. The park itself is fantastic and the hike was amazing. Our guide was excellent with the kids, and being able to go on essentially our own trail is a great way to go around what would have been a crowded experience otherwise. Highly recommend.
Great way to start the day!

On time, friendly leader. a great group vibe. Considerate (stops on the drive for restrooms); entertaining chatter and good knowledge of the geology. Slightly challenging appropriate level for the hike.

Breathing and Wonderful Experience

The guided tour was amazing. Our guide Michael was awesome. We called him Saint Michael. Totally blessed by the experience. He was well versed on the area from the time he picked us up from our hotel and throughout the hike. He was able to communicate about the plants and petroglyphs and show us hidden spots we would not have seen on our own and kept us safe while having a great time. We are better for having met Saint Michael and seeing and taking in all of God's creation at the Valley of Fire. The pictures are amazing but don't do it justice. We highly recommend this friendly hike and our guide Saint Michael. It is worth the trip. You will definitely get your full value and then some for the price.
Great experience!!

This was a great experience. We did the moderate hike and for the most part is was very easy. There were a few areas we had to climb over some rocks but it was not too difficult. Our guide Nick was incredible!! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and pointed out a lot of landmarks and educated us on the plants and animals that are indigenous to the area. Highly recommend!!

Caitlin_K, Mar 2024
We had an amazing and intense hike with Mike through the Valley of Fire and highly recommend this adventure to anyone who is physically fit and ready to have some fun and awesome conversation while getting some exercise and taking in breathtaking views. Recommend the early hike (our hotel pickup was 6 am) so you can enjoy it then get back to your hotel in time to take a nap and enjoy dinner and a show. Truly the highlight of our trip to Vegas and we can’t wait to hike with Mike again! Thanks Mike!

This was a great trip! Our guide, Dustin, was the best. He made the experience special for all of us. He was very helpful to my sister who has slight mobility issues. He was interesting and fun. The Valley of Fire was stunning and we all loved it. Definitely a not to be missed trip.
Great hike and views! Prepare to scramble over rocks.
Ken_P, Mar 2024
Great hike-but offer more description so people can assess if it’s the right hike for them. I signed up for the moderate hike and there were quite a bit of rock scrambles. Many people would have had difficulty with the hike.
