When your cruise ship docks in Livorno, take a full-day private shore excursion to discover the lovely towns of the Cinque Terre and the city of Pisa. We will wait for you just outside your cruise ship with a your name's sign. Departure is scheduled 15-30 minutes after dock. We suggest choosing the most close time availability in order to run the full itinerary. Cruise docks 7-7:30am - Suggested departure time is 7:45am Cruise docks 8-8:15am - Suggested departure time is 8:15am Cruise docks 8:30-9am - Suggested departure time is 9:15am Cruise docks 10:00am - Suggested departure time is 10:15am Please consider if your Cruise docks at 7:00am and you choose a departure tour at 10:15, this means you will not have enough time to run the full itinerary. As a private tour, we will wait for you in front of your Cruise so don't worry in case you are running late to disembark

What To Expect

Your guide meets your group of up to eight people at the cruise ship dock in Livorno.

Board a comfortable climate-controlled minivan and drive for about 1.5 hours to reach the first village in the National Park of Cinque Terre, typically Vernazza, but it could be another depending on the weather,

Spend the major part of the day visiting three Cinque Terre villages. Follow your guide to each village while traveling on ferries or trains, depending on the weather and availability.

After you’ve explored three villages with your guide, you’ll return to your minivan and make the roughly 1.5-hour drive to Pisa. Spend 40 minutes here to take in the Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower of Pisa before making the 25-minute return drive to your cruise ship dock.

See Cinque Terre by Sea

We loved Porto Venere! We loved the boat ride past the five villages of Cinque Terre. Visiting the last two villages was nice; however, we felt like we were visiting all of our tour guide’s favorite places and had few options of our own. She also didn’t seem to want to go to Pisa. We did go and she and our driver were so kind to drive us to a special church our friend had wanted to photograph. All this being said, we very much enjoyed the day. We wish it had been less expensive! 😃

Breathtaking with a wonderful guide

Luigi and our driver Naz were outstanding. There were 6 of us making this such an incredible experience with Luigi as our guide. He took great care of us, We saw more towns than we thought we would and enjoyed them all. We also got to Pisa in spite of the rain. Luigi is an expert in the area and so personable. Highly recommend him and the tour itself.

We have done many tours and Massimo was the best driver ever, perfect English, funny and full of information and history. Saw Cinque Terre and Pisa, quite of bit of time in car getting from Livorno but he made time go by for us. My only advice would be just pick 2 villages (we saw 4) to visit take the ferry between for the views and save the rest for another time, even in October they were packed.

This was an amazing day! Alessandro and Luigi are truly the best team you can get if you're interested in the Tuscany/Cinque Terre/Pisa region of Italy. On time, impeccably clean transportation, and such a positive attitude. Luigi was a fantastic communicator, he knew exactly what he was doing, where he was going - the interesting things to point out. We were asked several times if there was something we wanted to do/change based on how the day was going. Alessandro was an expert driver who always knew the right moment to stop for a photo, etc. This tour company is very aware of how important it is to return to a ship on time, so the day was managed very carefully. We can't say enough good things - if we return, we know who we're going to call!

Luigi was an incredible guide, knowledgeable, gracious, and accommodating. There is a lot of flexibility in this tour, should you want to spend more time in one village than another (or in Pisa for that matter), but know your transport between villages is by ferry, so you are subject to their schedule. The villages offer breathtaking views of the ports if you’re willing to climb the trails, but there is much charm to be had by just strolling the streets. Pack a swimsuit and towel! The tour description doesn’t currently mention it, but there are many opportunities to get into the ocean. And in summer, if you’ve hiked up the hills to take in the panoramic views, a quick dip on your return to the port is refreshing way to cool off. The drive from Livorno port to La Spezia (the route to get to the villages) was about an hour and a half, but our guide kept it interesting by pointing things out along the way. Just know that there is a fair amount of travel involved. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and would 10 out of 10 recommend.

We had a perfect day in Cinque Terre! Rowina and Stefano were excellent. He picked us up right next to the ship and drove us through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to Cinque Terre were she took us to three of the five towns. We went from town to town by ferry which was absolutely charming and gave gorgeous views from the water. On way back to ship, stopped at Pisa and had a gelato. Highly recommend this private tour. After a week of group tours, it was such a delight to be able to what we wanted at the pace we chose. Oh, and lunch was AMAZING too. Our guide made us a reservation.

What an amazing excursion! One of the most beautiful places we’ve seen. Our favorite excursion of our trip to Italy. Largely in part to Luigi. Best guide any of us has ever had. He gave us as much information as we needed and never steered us wrong on recommendations for food and wine. And so friendly and fun to be around. He loves his job and it shows!

This was an amazing excursion with amazing views. It started by meeting our driver Max at the port. He was friendly, knowledgeable and we enjoyed our conversations with him en route to Cinque Terre. At Cinque Terre we met our guide Romina and she handled everything from that point til we met back up with Max. She even made lunch reservations for us for when we arrived at one of the locations. It all ran very smoothly and was a wonderful, highly recommend trip for anyone looking to see this part of Italy.

Wonderful private tour with Luigi as our guide and Stefano as our driver. Saw 3 of the villages and went from one to the other via ferry. A great way to see their beauty from the water. Luigi gave excellent details and we had a great lunch at his suggestion. Still had time to make it to Pisa and see the leaning tower. A perfect day!

The Beautiful Cinque Terre - WOW! You have to Go!

If you only have one day at Livorno, you have to do this tour. Leonardo was our driver and Emilie our guide. Drove to Riomaggiore then by ferry to the other towns ending in Monterosso then drove to Pisa and back to Livorno. These villages are so beautiful and Emilie was with us all the way with her extensive knowledge of the area. Plenty of time to have lunch, take photos and explore the towns. Leonardo was a great driver and commandeered the curly roads like a true professional. We did this tour on the last day of the season and although still quite busy the weather was magnificent and we did not want this day to end. Pisa was also amazing and we arrived at almost sunset for beautiful photography. Thanks Emilie and Leonardo for a remarkable day we will never forget.

Absolutely the best tour of our entire cruise. Our guide, Luigi, was great and since it was a private tour, he tailored it to our wishes. Very smooth throughout. Very well organized with boat ride and coordination with the bud. Highly recommend. One drawback is the long ride from the port.

Amazing Excursion

Our guide, Petra, was wonderful. On the drive to Cinque Terre she gave us a timeline of the day, so we would know what to expect. She was able to get us to 3 of the villages using the ferry. We spent about 45 minutes to explore each place on our own. Petra suggested which stop to eat lunch and made reservations for us. We were able to quickly grab lunch and have time to see some of the village. We also had about 45 minutes at Pisa. Our driver, Alessandro, did a terrific job navigating the windy roads.

Best excursion we did on our cruise

We opted to good a private excursion thru Viator instead of thru the cruise ship and were so happy we did and totally worth it as it allowed us to see both Cinque Terre and Pisa in one day with a wonder guide who provided historical commentary along the way and allowed us time in each of the (3) towns we visited to get a sense of the culture. We walked away with a new appreciation of Cinque Terre and marked it down as a place to come back. We walked off the cruise ship and met our guide and driver just outside the cruise port. We first drove to Cinque Terre and arrived in the town of Monterosso early in the morning as the shop owners were setting up. We walked along the trails that connect each of the towns and got some amazing pictures.Our guide escorted on the ferry to visit (3) of the towns and then we took the train to meet our driver to head to Piza. Piza was alright. Crazy crowded and having been to a beautiful place like Cinque Terre, we had a bit of a let down. Trips: - Bring water. Our guide and drive provided water, but always good to have more just in case - Bring comfortable shoes, we liked the idea of walking along the hiking trails to get up high for pics - Bring money to shop - Great little shops at each town

Everything went very smoothly, from pick-up at the dock, to trips on the ferry between the towns, to time in Pisa - Guide Luka was very personable and shared a lot about the area and the sites we were seeing - Had never been to Cinque Terre - The towns are beautiful and as expected, pretty tourist oriented. A fair amount of time is spent in transit to get there, to Pisa, and then back to the ship. Would have been great to have more time in Pisa, but then should have booked a Pisa focused excursion, so this is my own fault. Driver was very safe, and the road from the last town to Pisa was pretty exciting to put it mildly! Be prepared to have a fair amount of personal time in the Cinque Terre towns, but Luka was very flexible and adjusted to feedback around how much time we wanted to spend in each place.
