What To Expect

Your evening tour begins at a central meeting point, where you board a vintage double-decker bus and take off through the city’s darkened streets.

Pass Westminster Abbey and the Banqueting House at Whitehall, the execution site of King Charles I in 1649. Immerse yourself in the tales of execution etiquette in the 17th century, when beheading was the favored act. Learn of skilled executioners and the spectacle that would unravel during bloody public executions at Tower Hill. Then zip past Old Bailey—site of public hangings in the 19th century—and Fleet Street to see where the barber Sweeney Todd gruesomely butchered clients and packed them into meat pies to be guzzled by local patrons.

Your next stop is London’s Smithfield Market. A historic site that began as a meat market in the 10th century, Smithfield witnessed many brutal executions over the centuries. Wander the building and surrounding lanes as you hear about historical figures that met their end here such as Wat Tyler, leader of the Peasants' Revolt, and Scottish patriot William Wallace. Visit Wallace’s memorial and learn about how grave robbing became a popular money-making scheme in the 19th century.

As night falls, arrive at London’s East End, where Jack the Ripper stalked his victims more than 125 years ago. Pass locations where the Ripper’s five victims were found by horrified Londoners. Disembark to follow the murder trail, and discuss theories and suspects that have come and gone, leaving the Jack the Ripper story a great unsolved mystery.

Your tour concludes with a visit to the Sherlock Holmes Pub near Trafalgar Square. Explore Holmes memorabilia and warm yourself with a drink and some crispy English fish and chips (own expense).

Extremely disappointing- don’t waste your money or time!
Jess_H, Nov 2023
This tour was so NOT what we were thinking it would be! While our tour guide tried, it was not a great tour. We looked longingly at another, much bigger tour where the guide had pictures of victims, maps, and was animated and interesting. Our guide, Magnus, tried, but didn’t give the experience we had hoped for. We had to ask about Sherlock Holmes, to which Magnus replied with one sentence about it. We also didn’t get to see the William Wallace monument, which is the main reason why we spent $60 for each person instead of $20 for a regular tour. He spent much of his time talking to the bus driver, who was nice, but not the regular driver in a double decker bus. The driver of that bus had been delayed significantly by an accident and traffic, so we got this tour bus instead. Unforeseen things do happen and we understand this, however, this tour was NOT what we had paid for at all! We had the feeling that the rest of the people on this tour thought the same as us. We were in good spirits and loved being in London, so we didn’t let it ruin our evening. We just spent a lot of money on something that was false advertising. Don’t waste your time or money on this tour- get the cheaper one!
Very Informative

Had a great evening. Learned a lot about the murders of Jack the Ripper. This was clearly a passion for our guide. Loved his dry wit and humor.
Interesting

The story sharing by the tour guide, historical value of the story, the myths and legends and still unknowns!
Fantastic tour!!
Raquel_L, Sep 2023
Coming from Australia mum and I were able to see parts of London we never would have been able to see all in one day!! The tour guide was so informative and we learnt so much about the city, history and monuments around. Being able to walk through the sites from those historic murders was very exciting for a fan of serial killers and history. We Highly recommend this tour

The tour Nik was very informative. We had alot of laughs also. This tour was recommended by my cousin.
Who was the real "Jack the Ripper"
Thomas_D, Sep 2023
Magnus Nielson was very interesting and considerate. Our group was a bit older and some were less mobile, but Magnus seemed to stop and chat near arears where most people with mobility issues could have a seat on a bench, etc. and listen to his presentations and theories without losing anything at all. Most younger people remained on their feet for the approximate 90 minute waking tour, but for those seniors and or those of us with mobility issues, the "walking tour" was very tolerable and pleasant. Lot's of data, detail and theories shared by Magnus on these historic unsolved crimes.
Not at all what is advertised!
Jack_M, Sep 2023
This was a waste of time. Why go on a tour where the tour guide just reads from a script the entire time?!? And it was supposed to go over Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes but only read a crime profile of Jack the Ripper. No haunted history of other crimes or of haunted London. On top of that, the tour guide was touting his Facebook page of his investigation on Jack the Ripper. The only tour I have ever just left. Not worth the cost of the tour!!
Good….but…
Jennifer_W, Sep 2023
The guide was amazing and the information was great. The walking portion really set the scene for the murders. The low score came from the misrepresentation of some of the tour information on the website. 1.) The tour is NOT in a vintage double-decker bus, which is one of the reasons I chose it. 2.) The tour drops you off at Sherlock Homes pub with no reservations. The pub was closed for diners on the evening we toured.
Not quire a haunted tour as it was daylight till 1030 at night during summer
Pam_S, Aug 2023
The tour guide was knowledgeable and keep me engaged with stories of the time of Jack the Ripper however the reality is there is nothing left from the time of the murders so you really need the guide to paint the picture at the sites, and anything I heard on the tour I could goggle at home. I enjoyed the tour but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to be honest.

Was enjoyable but pricey, probably museum better. Allen the guide very personable. Just needed more include the museum. Not much on Sweeney Todd.

the issue was that we arrived at the location and there was anyone there. They had just left. We tried to call and then no one answered. We would appreciate if they could grant us a "credit" for a future date, we will be back to London UK within a year from now.
Interesting Tour

Magnus Neilson was great He is a serious Jack the Ripper researcher it was more about Jack and very little about Sherlock Holmes Or anything haunted
Informative
Tom_B, May 2023
Our tour guide Magnus Nielsen was exceptionally knowledgeable about Jack the Ripper. He showed us a map of the locations of each murder. Provided insights into possible suspects and rational of the why each person fit the profile or not.
Don’t miss this
