Windsor castle is closed on 26th of December so we will be operating a walking tour of Windsor instead

Windsor Castle is a working royal palace and planned closures/disruptions may be subject to change.
When the State Apartments are closed the Precincts, Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Drawings Gallery will remain open.
Windsor Castle closures: 25 and 26 December – Castle completely closed.
St. George’s Chapel is usually closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services.
Due to legal working hour’s restrictions for our drivers, this tour will finish within a 2 or 3 minute walk of Gloucester Road Underground Station. This station is in Zone 1 and is three stops Eastbound on the Circle Line or the District Line to Victoria. The Piccadilly Line also runs through Gloucester Road, and is only 5 stops to Piccadilly Circus.
Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A walking tour of the town will take place instead.
Due lift maintenance, the walk from Windsor coach park to the Castle will include the use of some stairs.

Really enjoyed the trip- our Guide Morten was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about this tour. Would definitely recommend - our driver Armando too. The only minus about this tour is 1) not enough time to explore such a wonderful Hampton Court Palace. 2) Our guide were not coming with us to explore inside vision of Hampton Court and Windsor Castle. But in general i loved it. We were in total 16 together,and they were such a lovely people. And it was a nice atmosphere.😃👍👏

One of the most exciting tours that we have taken during our trip to London. Both castles are amazing in their own ways. It's hard to tell which one is better. It's like a journey through centuries from Henry the 8th times to Charles lll nowadays. Special thanks to our guide Lucy, she gave us a lot of interesting information and good tips on how to better organize ourselves during the trip.

A great way to see two attractions in the one day Hampton Court was first and it was nice to be able to walk around with less people, which was by design by the tour operator. Windor castle was great shame we couldn't take photos of the exhibitions. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly/

Eileen was a lively guide. She kept us on pace and gave us so much information between stops. Know that the guide does not go into the palaces with you, rather leads you to the entrance where you are on your own while in there.

We loved Hampton Court. Dolly, our guide was very informative and lots of fun! So knowledgeable. We only gave 4 stars because Windsor seemed a major tourist destination which detracted from the experience. (If course, we’re tourists!)

Worst tour guide ever

The tour guide Lucy was terrible. She literally yelled at the group for leaving her behind after telling us we’d be on our own at Hampton Castle. Then complained about us at Windsor Castle and again scolded us for not using both baggage check lines.

I was never informed that my tour was canceled. I spent 40 pounds on taxis and have not been compensated by Viatour despite writing. I am very disappointed to have missed both the tour and spending money for nothing.

While the castles were spectacular, this tour was so poorly organized it was painful. We gathered at 8:00am to leave at 8:30am to drive around London for an hour before heading out to Hampton Court that didn’t open until 10:00. A later departure with a straight trip to the destination would be much better. We departed Hampton Court at 12:10 and went straight to Windsor Castle. We knew lunch wasn’t included, but we didn’t even stop for lunch or have time to get anything. The guide took us past this adorable town at 1:00, past tons of lunch stops, and straight into Windsor Castle. There is a small and inefficient cafe in the castle, but we had to leave our tour group and it took 45 minutes to get lunch. Adding a short lunch stop in the town would have been perfect. There is a big difference between lunch is not included, and we’re not going to give you a chance to eat so bring your own.

Loved our guide, Eileen, she was so knowledgeable and spoke often about interesting things. However, getting to the entrance of Windsor was a chore and especially for people who had walking issues. Eileen should have dropped those people off first and then parked the bus. Stairs were filthy with trash in need of painting.

Pitiful job by Golden Tours

Hampton Court portion was cancelled by tour operator. The coach to Windsor was supposed to have WiFI and did not in either direction. Upon arrival at Windsor Castle, the coach driver said to hurry up and get to the castle because it was closing in 45 minutes. There is a long walk from the coach park to the castle entrance through a shopping center and village and we had 0 guidance in navigating it. Then, when we got to the gate of the castle, we weren’t let in because the coach driver was supposed to come with us. We lost more time waiting for the coach driver to then walk up to the castle. Totally unorganized experience which took away precious vacation time.

Great tour. The tour guide, Carmen, was wonderful in explaining all the steps of the tour prior departure. Her knowledge of historical facts were very accurate. Hampton Court tour should be longer, very interesting. Windsor Castle was crowded, as expected.

Hampton Court and Windsor from London was a great day. It wasn't too long or too rushed at either stop, with plenty of time to look around, enjoy the audio tour, and get any meals or snacks we wanted while there. This tour made it easy to add the experiences of Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle to our stay in London.

Disappointed

This trip wasn’t bad in terms of seeing Hampton Court and Windsor Castle. I was just extremely disappointed in the tour guide Simon. He was a nice enough guy but was very disorganized the whole trip and blamed it on Covid, not knowing all the changes to tour rules. The worst part about it was he did not tell us that St. George’s chapel closes at 4 PM. Our tour ended at 5 PM and we had no idea we should have went there first, right around 2:30 when we arrived. Never made it inside as the doors were locked when we reached them at 4:05... Coming from the US who knows if I’ll ever make it back there. Very sad and disappointing.
