Long wait before attraction!
Eva_B, May 2024
Our tour guide Laura was excellent giving us updates and explaining what we see with amazing knowledge. The problem was with the large group and the fact that few people were late so all 25 people had to wait half an hour for them! Also the fact that bathrooms were inside the attraction so there was long line up contributed to even more waiting. The Royal Palace was magnificent and Musem Prada was huge and worth of seeing. I just would not recommend those two attractions the same day as it was more then 5 hours ( mostly standing)
Marta is a great Prado tour guide.
Robert_R, May 2024
Marta was a great guide. She made our visit to the Prado excellent. She is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Communication from the tour operator was not good. We were told to be at their office at 9:45. When we arrived they told us 11:30. We were not notified. That is not acceptable.
Great experience
Kallie_J, May 2024
Guide had great grasp of history with sense of humor to keep our attention well. It was quite a walk though between Royal Palace and Prada. We perhaps should have done on different days or had a shuttle.
Wonderful And Amazing!
Denise_J, May 2024
Marta was simply put AMAZING!! She guided us through a Fantastic Tour. I would give her 10 stars if I could. She made the Palace come to life! History, and humor all once.
Excellent. Too much information to absorb.
Eduardo_B, May 2024
Palace, cathedral, and plaza de España. Museo de Prado was too much art and statues but it was very informative
I’m very refined now
Joanne_B, May 2024
The amount of knowledge the guide told us was impressive. He was funny and interesting to listen to. He managed the group easily .
Palacio Mágico

The Royal Palace and all of its splendors! Our tour guide Marta was exceptional! Her knowledge on the history of the royals was extensive and very helpful!
Not a good experience
Lan_H, May 2024
Meeting place was confusing and didn’t write clearly (Pl means Plaza, who would know that? ) Royal Palace tour was cancelled, refunded just over 1/3 of my payment, instead of 1/2 they were promised.
Fantastic tour
Claire_C, May 2024
Our guide, Amu, was extremely knowledgeable and provided great details and history both at the Royal Palace and the Prado. And the walking tour was an added treat.
Great tour!
Janet_G, May 2024
Marta was great! Very informative and answered all questions. Gave us bits of historical information that you would not typically see in a history book
Not too accommodating
James_H, May 2024
The tour guide did not accommodate slower individuals in the way to the Palace and we could not hear the audio. The pickup point was difficult to find.
Don’t miss this one
Orlando_O, May 2024
Palace is awesome, masterpieces at the museum are beautiful and the guide was excellent. Also there are some places in rhe city such as Plaza Mayor, Puerta del sol and others we passed by while moving from Palace to museum. Don’t miss this one!
Informative tour. Very beautiful.
Mark_E, May 2024
Prado is incredible. Perhaps the best thing was our guide has a lot of classical art knowledge. It was unfortunate that there wasn't enough time to enjoy more of it.
Do better with handicapped accessibility
Karen_M, May 2024
I enjoyed the Royal Palace. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I do believe that Viator, as a company, needs to be more upfront about distances walked and accessibility of the tour to disabled persons. I have struggled to find information about the tours in that type of detail. It makes it very difficult to book appropriate tours for myself and my husband who is disabled. My husband did not go on this particular tour but there was an 83 year old on the tour and he and his wife struggled to keep up with the guide. My husband would never have made it. A person could not push a wheelchair or manipulate on a walker on this tour.
A Comedy of Errors!
Anne_F, May 2024
The palace and El Prado are magnificent. This is not the issue. Our guide may have lacked experience and it appears the palace had overbooked. Conclusion, we had a "skip the line" ticket (not cheap) and we were waiting in line for one hour when the members of the group started making pressure on the guide to put pressure to get us in. She was insisting we had to stay in the group line when some members of the group found out that most groups waiting did not have a time slot while we did. She went to the entrance and they finally let us in, one by one through the security check that takes for ever. Feeling short of time, the guide rushed us through the visit. We were not informed that transport was not included in the transfer from the palace to El Prado. The walk for 45 minutes at least so we took a cab who got stucked in traffic. We arrived late for our time entrance and once again, were rushed through the visit. You may want to use a different guide agency if you plan on making this visit. I have traveled a lot around the world on almost all continents and never saw anything like this. A very disapointing visit.
Good Experience with Madrid Must-Dos
David_S, May 2024
Must do for first-time tourists in Madrid. Our guide Marta was personable and knowledgeable. Quick view of the Prado is sufficient for most. Real art lovers could spend an entire day or day. Only complaint is that it was a very long day of standing. Lunch was a quick grab from a convenience store; a longer break would have been great.
Palace and Prado Beautiful Challenge
Susan_M, May 2024
The Royal Palace was extraordinary and our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating. We were unable to complete the tour because we spent energy walking/ searching for the "Meeting Point." The Prado location was also a 2 mile walk from the Palace....not easy for 76 years olds, especially with another tour to come. Our cab driver dropped us as close as possible, but the office was not located on a street. Very difficult to find! Viator needs do be more specific in it's directions to meeting points as well as the distances between the venues.
Good Tour
Vivienruss, Apr 2024
Overall, it was a very good tour. We started at the Royal Palace. Our guide not only shared the history of the palace but also how/when the current Royal Family use the palace. After our palace tour was complete we did a walking tour to the Prado (she offered the option for some participants to not walk and instead take a taxi. We chose to walk. It was about a 30 minute walk. Our guide shared quite a bit of information about sites we passed and some of her restaurant recommendations as we walked. Our only disappointment came with having to wait almost an hour in line to enter the Prado. Apparently the only line we skipped was the one to buy tickets. When leaving we noticed one or two other entrances that appeared to be true “skip the line” options. I don’t think this was the guides fault. Once inside, the Museum was fantastic. Our guide showed us the highlights and provided a lot of interesting insight into many of the pieces. When her part of the tour was finished we were allowed to stay in the museum as long as we wanted so we went back to look at pieces we didn’t see on the highlights tour.
Great tour but long walk.
Patrick_L, Apr 2024
Martha was great guide very knowledgeable. Did not know there would be such a long walk from palace to Prado.
Ok tour
Jorge_R, Apr 2024
It was ok. Our guide was patient and knowledgeable. A person in our party needed a wheelchair and she went out of her way to accommodate. The tour itself seemed a little disorganized but it could probably had to do with how crowded both places were.
