Overview

Observe humpback whales in their natural habitat during their return migration to Maui’s waters December–April. This whale watching adventure by high-speed catamaran provides a front row seat to fin slaps, flukes, and breaches. Underwater hydrophones help you hear whale songs, while the captain and crew provide the commentary. Juices and sodas are available on board to keep passengers hydrated.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Maui! The crew was laid back and friendly, and very knowledgeable. Captain Paul was informative and quick witted. Nicole served up an amazing Mai Tai and smiled the entire time she was working! It was such a pleasant experience. We’d recommend this to anyone!

It was a great experience. Everything from boarding the boat and the ride went smoothly. The crew was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we didn’t get a best site of whales during our visit. The crew really tried but I think the timing was not great to see those magnificent creatures out and about. We will try it in another time for sure.

Great time. The captain was very informative on the whales and keep the boat engaged with fun facts and questions from the group. Also got us on a family of whales several times during the trip.

Although it was at the end of the season they still found a couple of families of whales for us to watch. The crew was very friendly and accommodating.

Almost miss the boat ride. The boat name was change. No follow up email or notifications. Details was to wait at the store and not the boat dock. Need to correct information for tour. Whale was present. But not impressed with guide and fake whale noises.

From beginning to end the crew and Captain took great care of us! The easiness of getting on board and getting settled was great for my family of four (2 kids under 3). We were able to see multiple whales, even this late in the season. The captain gave us some good lessons and history on the whales as well we learned a lot! Would recommend this tour for sure and we enjoyed our experience!

Our Whale Watching Tour aboard the Quicksilver was great!

We were aboard Quicksilver on April 7, 2024. We were warned by the captain that it was late in the season for whales, so we were extra excited when we did see whales! The Quicksilver crew were all friendly and attentive. The boat is clean and comfortable. We have no hesitation in recommending this excursion.

It was really amazing experience. Although we went there end of the season. Still we were able to see 6 whales. Fantastic breach. The one disadvantage which was there is that in the tour description it was written that they will be providing headphones to listen the whale sound. But it was not provided.

We had a great time. We went close to the end of whale season. We were able to see a mother whale and her baby very close to leaving the harbor. We didn't have to go very far. The crew were very nice. This is a short trip. Would recommend this for young children. My husband enjoyed the $3 alcoholic drinks. Metered paid parking is available at the harbor.

Whale Watching Tour with Family

My family and I loved this tour. the weather was great that day and there was no big waves. When we got to the spot where the Whales are supposed to be, at first there was not any. So the Captain had to go back. Luckily I was still looking for some and I actually did. It was a mother Whale with its baby. We saw the water spout and go up in the water. The Crew was great and the service was as well. I do recommend this tour. Mahalo and Aloha.

Unfortunately we couldn’t see any whales during our afternoon ride and it was very windy with Gale warning. Due to wind it was so difficult to watch anything as hats, sunglasses were flying off. Wish they had cancelled this ride for that day as 2 hrs was too long to be in that condition with kids or rescheduled passengers for some other day.

A Pleasant Ride

The instructions say “must park in shops parking lot” when there were plenty of spots close to the slips where the boats were. Once on the boat the crew was very nice and hospitable. Always checking if you wanted something. The captain did his best to find whales but it was late in the season and super windy so no luck. A pleasant ride but the way back was brutal winds. He did his best to keep the boat from rocking too much. I’d do it again in season.

No whales, not a lot of money, not the crews fault. But I wouldn’t do it a second time

Didn’t see whales after rescheduling our day in order to go earlier, due to not filling the late time slot. We chose the latest time due to seeing whales traveling south off the west coast the two days prior. Not the crew’s fault, but I would be selective of the time of year you consider this trip. This time of year the whales start to migrate. I’d also consider how close you may get being on a large vessel. The crew was friendly and helpful.
