What To Expect

Your adventure begins with a pickup at the airport or the Nairobi city center, where you’ll start the scenic trip to Masai Mara National Reserve (Maasai Mara National Park). An included stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint gives you sweeping vistas across the landscape that you’ll explore on that evening’s sunset game drive—the tour’s first wildlife experience is timed to catch animals when they’re most active.

Included buffet meals and tent accommodations with beds ensure two comfortable overnights. There are even bathrooms inside the tents, so you won’t have to venture outside after dark if you don't want to. Day two features a full-day game drive, and a picnic lunch to secure even more time for watching spectacular wildlife from hippos and crocodiles to leopards, lions, and cheetahs.

Before returning to Nairobi on day three, you’ll have time to visit a Maasai village. Or, upgrade to add an optional cultural experience with the Maasai people: Learn more about life in a Maasai community, visit traditional huts, and more. This tour concludes back in the Nairobi city center, or at the airport.

It was a really nice experience, we have seen a lot of animals, the campground and the food were really good. Samy our tour guide is an excellent driver, has a lot of knowledge about the wild life, very patient, very flexible and tries to make everything possible you wish. Also Liz in the office is very friendly and helpful in organizing everything upfront. Totally recommend this company. Book the extra visit to the Masai village it's absolutely worth it.

Sun, mud and many animals

Totally recommend it! Due to weather conditions our trip didn‘t go as planned. But Ambros, Dennis and Peter were great drivers and guides to get us safely to/from Masai Mara! The Rhino Camp is pretty basic but has everything you need
Response from Host, May 2024

Amazing Family Experience
Brian_P, Mar 2024
We upgraded to a Land Cruiser/Jamba Mara accommodations and didn’t regret a thing. The Jambo Mara was a huge step up from the basic tent camp offered. While it wasn’t quite a 3 star hotel, the staff was amazing, food was good, and the room were very cool glass houses. We also chose to pay $20/person to visit the Masai tribe. This was a must do in my opinion. Outstanding cultural experience. Regarding the game viewing, we got very lucky the 1st evening and saw a ton of animals. I was concerned we’d be bored the next day. That couldn’t have been further from the truth. Sooo many amazing animals. Our kids are 13 and 14 and had a life-changing experience and Sammy, our driver was a huge part of that. We appreciate him and the team we coordinated with at the office. One of the best tours we’ve ever taken.
Response from Host, Mar 2024

It's fantastic that you enjoyed the Jambo Mara accommodations and found the visit to the Masai tribe to be an outstanding cultural experience. We're glad you had amazing game viewing experiences and that Sammy, your driver, contributed to making it a life-changing experience for your kids. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for more memorable tours in the future. Regards Sylvia

Haonan_Z, Mar 2024
We arrived at the park at around 5pm on the first day, and the driver said it would be closing soon, and the first day's itinerary was rescheduled to the third day. But on the third day, I just walked through the park, which took about 40 minutes, but I paid $100 for these 40 minutes, and there were not many animals. Chatting with members of the group, everyone said that the $100 spent on this day was completely unnecessary.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hello Haonan, We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay due to traffic on the first day, which affected the timing of your game drive. Unfortunately, the circumstances beyond our control led to rescheduling the itinerary to the third day. We regret that your experience on the third day was not as fulfilling due to time constraints and the limited wildlife sightings during your short visit. We appreciate your feedback. On the bright side, you had a amaizing time while on safari and we do appreciate that chose to travel with us. Regards Sylvia
Great way to see the Maasai Mara
ks1197, Mar 2024
This was a wonderful experience to the Maasai Mara - and I would thoroughly recommend it for anyone who has a few days to spare in Kenya. Our guide and driver, Ambrose, was brilliant. He ensured our every need was taken care of throughout the trip. His driving and knowledge allowed us to see 4 of the big 5 (no rhino sadly) as well as a plethora of other animals. The only downside to this trip (and the reason it isn't 5/5 stars) is the accommodation which is very basic. Although I was expecting it to be basic, this was another level, e.g. I had no hot water in my bathroom.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful time in the Maasai Mara with Ambrose as your guide and driver, and that you were able to see so many incredible animals. We apologize for any inconvenience regarding the accommodation. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll take it into consideration to improve our services. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable safari adventure in the future. Regards Sylvia
A great safari experience!
SUBRAMANIAN_V, Feb 2024
Got to see a wide variety of animals in their natural habitat. Zebra, deer, giraffe, deer, cheetah, elephants and yes, of course, lions! The whole park i was so relaxing with hills, plains, blue sky and excellent weather! Our guide & driver Chris was punctual and knowledgeable. Our stay at Rhino camp was good even though the rooms have only basic furniture. Jackson, the warden, was very helpful. They even gave us vegetarian meals! (Remember to take a room with a lock; the one with a zipper can cause surprises!). The only regret was the van in which we travelled had no charging points (for phone/camera) and nothing to hold on to in the bumpy rides. Other than that the trip was great! Fell in love with all the animals and nature!
Response from Host, Feb 2024

The Massai Mara is a spectacular place to visit. It is breathtaking to see all the animals in their natural habitat. However, the van used for the trip wasn't equipped for that type terrain, it made the trip very uncomfortable. Also, the tour guide was African American friendly.
Response from Host, May 2023
Hello. Thank you for your feedback. Due to the current rainy season, we'll advise our guests to be equipped on cruiser jeeps to avoid future endeavors as such. We truly appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our guests' experience.
Mind blowing experience
Valesia_B, Apr 2023
This safari was one of THE greatest experiences ever! Definitely worth every penny. From the tour driver to the animal sightings to the camp stay was amazing. If your looking to see “the big 5” (lions, elephants, etc.) this safari is top notch
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Hello Valesia, Thank you for such a positive feedback and giving us a 5 star rating. We are happy to hear that you had a memorable experience in your tour. It was our pleasure to have you and hope to see you again in the near future. Regards, Jibril Mohamed
Best thing I’ve done and will be back.
Dawn_C, Feb 2023
The Safari was excellent. I did have a few issues on the last day with getting back to Nairobi for a specific time but I don’t want to take that away from the safari itself. I want to be fair. We were collected by George from our airport very prompt and taken into the city to meet our Safari driver and other passengers. George was really friendly and waited a few extra minutes to allow us breakfast. We then met Alfred our driver in a Land Cruiser which was an excellent vehicle. Even had plug sockets to charge devices. The drive to the Mara was around 5 hours with a stop off at the great rift valley, great for photos and stopped for comfort breaks/snacks at a local petrol station. Was interesting to see a typical Kenyan town on the way. We were then taken to the camp. Rhino camp for us. It was basic but great. Beds comfy, clean private toilet/shower, 24/7 power and lots of mozzie protection, we didn’t get big once. The lodge where you dine was comfortable. Had wifi which was unexpected. Staff really friendly and food was fine, basic but expected. Alfred then picked us up a few hours later for the evening drive. This was really special moment as you really felt you were then on Safari. We were greeted just past the entrance with giraffe, zebra and wildebeest who are local residents. A few moments later there was a plethora or animals. We saw lions feeding, cheetah and birds. Alfred got us close enough for great photos but not too intrusive for the animals which I think is important. Alfred was very patient in moving the car to get better angles for photos. We then returned to camp for dinner and an early night. Point to note - it’s freezing at night so wrap up warm in bed. The 2nd day we had breakfast at 6 and picked up 6:30 for the full game drive. After driving for about 20 minutes (still seeing the usual residents) we found a herd of elephants. The atmosphere was spellbinding as only us there, Alfred drive right into the herd but again being respectful to the elephants as there was 2 calves too. We never had to drive more than 10/20 mins without finding a new animal. We also saw 2 cheetahs on the hunt of some antelope. All the drivers communicate by cb radio when they find something of interest but you often find them just driving around. The packed lunch on the Mara was also really nice. The camp packed plenty into the box. Sandwich, crisps, cake, apple, banana, yoghurt. The group really connected through our love of the Safari and almost becomes a family. Great for all, family, couples and solo travellers. We had all on ours. On the last day a couple from our group went to the hot air balloon ride and we went to the Maasai village which was excellent. They are really keen to educate us on their way of life, they do an excellent Welcome dance which you can join in. It cost us £13. There is also a market there to buy souvenirs. I know they expect to haggle but when we were told it goes towards sending the children to school we were happy for them to just have the money. The chief son spoke perfect English as he went to school in Nairobi and is now the school teacher in the village. You can really see how the money is actually spent on education. We then set off after an hour to collect the others from the hot air balloon ride and set off back to Nairobi. I had told Alfred the day before and on the day I wanted to be back in Nairobi for 3pm as I had it confirmed by Jibril the manager weeks before, however there was a few delays along the day which I won’t go into as I don’t want it to reflect on the company or safari. I missed my appointment at Nairobi as didn’t get back till 5pm which I was really upset about but again I didn’t want to take away from the safari itself which was excellent. Jibril and George were excellent and very sympathetic and really listened. Alfred was an excellent safari driver and very knowledgable. Overall it was an excellent experience and I will certainly back with this company with my niece and nephew when they’re big enough to be able to hold on to the keep as the roads are rough in the Mara but all part of the fun. I travelled with my 65 yr old mam and even she loved the bouncy roads. Thank you for a great experience.

Had an amazing fruitful trip. Got to see 4 of the big 5s besides hyenas, giraffes, zebras, elephants, wilderbeast, gazelles, impallas ….Am really happy with the trip cos I have never imagined I could see so many different kind of animals in just Maasai Mara!

Back to Nature without humans

Large animals in their natural habitat are lovely to watch. You get an impression of the variety and density of animals on the earth's surface a million years ago

The game drive was excellent, but the description of the camp was a little ambitious
Petronell_K, Nov 2022
First: Our game drive was phenomenal and our guide was the real hero of the trip. He had excellent knowledge, made sure to keep an eye out for some very quick spots and was just generally fun. Tip for travellers: there are no restroom facilities in the park, so it might be very uncomfortable for ladies traveling while pregnant/on their period. Second: The camp was okay. Hot water was on-off, the flushable toilet needed some finagling and there was intermittent electricity (for example, you can only charge your phone in the general dining room for 4 hours a day). However, big problem: one of the groundskeepers looked into the tents while people were dressing - Big no! No! But, the beds were comfortable, and the tents spacious. Also, the food was tasty (carby too, so not keto friendly). In summary: 5-star game-drive in 3-star lodging
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Hi Petrone, We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your travel with us. The comfort of our clients is our top most priority and we give exactly that. Our guides are very knowledgeable and always very informative. Apologies about the groudskeepers incident, the groudkeepers usually are the ones taking care of the tents as well as checking security, the incident might have been a mistake. We really apologise! We hope to serve you soon again. Regards, Faith Faith.
Perfect and breath taking
Aneeta_B, Sep 2022
Francis was our driver and was brilliant. I travelled alone and met some lovely people in my group. You will see the most beautiful landscape and animals.Tips you will need to buy water at the camps. Take ksh or usd. You may wish to take packet pasta or other options you can simply add hot water to but you will need to bring your own food thermos to keep it warm. It's a great addition if you have food restrictions. Evening Meals at camps are rice, noodles, vegetables, lentils and one meat option. Lunch for vegetarian was juice, crisps, cake, fruit and a salad bread roll. Also bring lots of snacks!! Once in the Masai Mara there are no toilets so be prepared to go in the bush. It's worth it and you will not be disappointed!!!
Response from Host, Sep 2022

It's totally worth it. Our guide John was amazing, always checking on everyone's confort and giving plenty of time to take photos. Likewise, the camp was great and hosted by gentle staff. Better to stay out of social media while you are there and enjoy the surroundings.

Perfect Safari and their driver/guide Dennis are excellent professional. Safari in terms of game viewing was also excellent and we saw Lion, Leopard, Chettah, Elephant, Giraffe, Zibra.....what not. Only hotel I stayed can improve their room standard... which was just basic but ok for couple of days.
