Our tour guide and driver was hilarious and made everybody feel good. He was knowledgeable and serious when needed about the subjects. The swamp boat tour guide was just as knowledgeable and you can tell he loves alligators, nature, and the area. It made for one of the best tours I’ve taken. The fun of the boat tour was balanced by the seriousness and history of the plantation tour. Well worth it!

Brian is the best tour guide!
    Shelly_S, Apr 2024
Our tour guide BRIAN was an absolute 10 star! Filled with information and his laugh is contagious… we loved the plantation tour and the airboat ride was a once in a lifetime experience. Unfortunately, the communication prior to our tour was lacking. I sent three emails and nobody responded to me, was able to talk to a person regarding our pick up time. The tour starts at eight she said so be there at 7:30 or 745. We didn’t get picked up until 830 and we had to walk blocks to get to the pick up spot. So waiting that long wasn’t a thrill. If they iron that out we will give a 5 star
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
We are so sorry for the mixup. There are many companies that sell our tours. Your confirmation email states the pick up time begins at 8 AM. If you’re early that’s even better but we do not tell customers be ready before 8 AM. It’s unfortunate that you got verbal inaccurate information. But there are many sources into which customers book our tours and communicate directly with the booking source. It’s unfortunate and we apologize. But thank you so much for coming we enjoyed having you and until next time stay safe and keep smiling
A good, deep look at important history, followed by exhilarating fun.

The plantation tour is exceptional, very informative, and provides an excellent history of slavery in general, and specifically in the area. The grounds are beautiful, and the memorials and monuments are very moving (even haunting). This experience is not to be missed. It is unlike most other plantation visits. The airboat swamp tour is just plain fun. You have several moments of rushing over water, grass, and mud at amazing speed. There are plenty of alligators, herons, and red wing blackbirds to see. We even glimpsed a feral hog. One alligator was part way into the boat to get fed some chicken by the guide. That’s about as up close and personal as you can get with an alligator. This is absolutely a really wonderful swamp experience.

    Can’t miss swamp tour!

Wonderful experience. Our driver Brian was hilarious and told a lot of good stories and gave great tips. We enjoyed the combo Whitney plantation and swamp tour. Swamp tour was our favorite. We stopped at Oak Alley for a quick lunch. The food at the cafe was average premade sandwiches. It’s too bad there isn’t a better location to grab quick food but the place they use to go has closed due to covid. It was nice being able to see oak alley also through the gate since we stopped here for food. If you want to pay the $20 entrance fee you could also run through the grounds (we only had 30 minutes to grab food). The swamp tour was the best. We chose the small airboat tour and it was worth it. We saw so many gators and our guide made the trip so much fun. Highly recommend this!

    Great Experience! Pack your Lunch!
    Camilla_B, Apr 2024
Great Experience! Whitney Plantation is amazing. We loved the self guided tour with handheld headsets for narration. Swamp Tour was a great follow up. There was a change to the lunch plan. We were supposed to stop at Oak Alley for deli sandwiches but we're then told there was a food truck at the swamp Tour. Then on the way we got a call that the food truck was closed so we stopped at a little cafe, which was pretty good. The drive from New Orleans to these tours is about an hour and in total takes about 7 hours. They need a more definite plan for lunch or travelers need to be prepared

    Unwilling to work with customers
    Lori_D, Apr 2024
The experience was horrible bc I selected the wrong date and viator nor the direct company would work with me to get some kind of refund since I was not in New Orleans at the time. Customer Servicw seems to no longer be a thing
    Simply stunning

An authentic telling of the horrors of slavery through Historic facts and old recordings of first hand experiences. This is a must for anyone exploring the real history of the USA.

Worth the Combination Tour - Whitney Plantation & Swamp Tour
    Katie_C, Apr 2024
Tour guide was great and didn't even catch his name. He was funny , lighthearted and very knowledgeable about the city. The plantation was filled with history and easy to use audio tour to learn the facts and history on your own. After a heavy heart filled visit, we ended the tour with a swamp tour and that was the best decision we made, cause it was fun , got to see many alligators, took photos "next" to them lol, and be outdoors in the beautiful weather we got to experience.

    So Worth It!
    Sheila_D, Apr 2024
Highly recommended! It was an amazing excursion. The Whitney Plantation gave firsthand accounts from slaves that actually worked and lived on the plantation. Sad reality of our history. And the Airboat Tour was so fun! We saw at least a dozen and a half alligators. I felt like I was on the show "Swamp People."

Wow, what an amazing time! The tour is sad and intense. The narration is very well done. We learned a lot from the perspective of the enslaved people. We then had lunch between the plantation tour and the swamp. The swamp tour was a great way to lighten the mood. We saw quite a few alligators! I recommend this tour.

Shout out to Brian and Whitney
    Matthew_D, Feb 2024
Brian is a legendary tour guide who makes the journey as good as the trips. Definitely recommend the whitney tour rather than old oak as it focuses through the eyes of the slaves. Airboat was great fun and good to see a few gators this early in the year. All well organised and a simple day.

Our tour guide from Crescent City Tours was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and made the drive enjoyable between all the stops. The airboat tour was also a really cool thing to experience. So glad that I booked the double tour!

    JUST BOOK THE TRIP!!!!!!!!
    Vanessa_S, Dec 2023
Brian has an awesome character and a very infectious laugh! I’m so glad that he’s our tour guide! Man’s really funny and even if you don’t get any of his jokes, his laugh alone will make you LOL! The Whitney Plantation’s my top reason why I visited NOLA in the first place! The self-guided audio tour’s awesome so you won’t have to worry about booking this tour with a tour guide from the vicinity. Warning: since you’re visiting a plantation, especially with children, please make sure to tell them to practice proper behavior. I happened to be listening intently to my audio guide, but seeing a couple of kids running and screaming around and having no respect or consideration to the property is unacceptable. What’s worse was that their parents didn’t even bother to get their attention! Soooo incredibly disrespectful to others! It’s nice to do an airboat swamp tour right after the heavy emotional tour from the plantation! Since it’s winter time, we rarely seen any gators! So glad to have seen 2! Overall, this combo tour is so worth every buck! Just book it! And if you can, ask for Brian!!! He’s the best!!!

Thanks for coming guys we enjoyed having you. Until next time stay safe and keep smiling 😊😊 He is definitely one of our best tour guides. He has never let me forget in the last 20yrs that he is the self proclaimed G.O.A.T It's starting to become a little undeniable. But thank you so much for your review.
    Fantastic Tour - A Must!
    Michael_M, Dec 2023
Great way to visit the Whitney Plantation and a fun airboat ride to cap off the day. We were picked up outside our hotel at 8am (no extra cost) by our great tour guide, Brian. Props to him, he was fun, energetic, and had a great scooby doo impression on top of delivering great facts and knowledge along our drives. After a few other hotel stops we were on our way by 8:30. A roughly 1 hour drive later we made it to Whitney ( half of the rest of the group went to Laura via same bus). At Whitney you take a self guided audio tour and walk the grounds. While the grounds are beautiful its a somber experience all should learn about. Whitney tells the story from the slave perspective. After about 2 hours Brian picked us up and we drove by a few of the other plantations to get a quick peak (including Laura). We then made our way to Oak Alley for a beautiful view of the Oak trees in front. We bought lunch here (sandwiches, chips, desserts), and got some delicious fresh made pralines and toffee (made in house) as well as some souvenirs in the gift shop. At 1245 we boarded the bus and drove about 40 minutes to the swamp area where our air boat tour was. We took the large boat and thought that was great (small boat would be fun but not worth extra money in my opinion). We did about 90 minutes or so on the water and that was very fun and perfect amount of time. We did see a gator and a bunch of little pigs. Great experience! Brian then picked us up and had us back at our hotel around 4:30. Great, well organized tour. Worth the money and a must on any trip to New Orelans!

The Whitney Plantation was a very honest and informative look at this piece of our history, which I appreciated. The swamp tour afterwards was a lot of fun. Saw lots of alligators and got closer than expected! We even got to hold a baby alligator. Great day overall!
