When booking, choose from multiple starting times, including two nighttime options for those looking for more of a spooky atmosphere. Because this is a walking tour, it also helps first-time visitors get their bearings in a new place.

Your tour ends in Washington Square Park, where you can continue exploring on your own, if you choose to do so.

great gangsters, mediocre ghosts essentially you’ll take an hour and a half gangster tour with two quick stops of ghost stories. our tour guide (pierre) was great and recommended good restaurants but his ghost script was limited and therefore a little disappointing

Pierre was awesome and he knew a lot about everything we saw. He was a very knowledgeable guide, which helped us understand the history and culture of the different time periods as the city evolved. He had a charming personality as well.

Disappointing and unprofessional

We never took the tour, so obviously I’d rate it zero stars if possible. It rained that night and after being extremely hard to get ahold of hours before the tour, when they finally responded, the company would not cancel our tour or refund our money. There is no way to call them… the only option is email or through viator messaging, which they must not check often. I guess they thought it was appropriate for people to be walking around in the rain when it was 45 degrees outside at night. They offered to let us reschedule, which isn’t helpful when we live 2,500 miles away. Disappointing handling of the situation and extreme lack of professionalism.

Although the weather was cold and wet, our guide seemed knowledgeable-unfortunately we had a 3 year old that wasn’t intrigued with the gangster life as we we were and had to leave early.

Super fun really knowledgeable!! Didn’t know how haunted NYU was! Our guide really knew how to hold our interest and made the tour fun and enjoyable.

What a let down

Super disappointed although our tour guides stories were informative it was super difficult to hear most of it. She has no mic system and relied on her voice traveling which it didn’t. Also the tour states a max of 15 people but there were 24 in our group. That also made it difficult to hear and stay together. Half of our group ended up leaving early due to them not being able to hear and getting bored. And the ghost stories were very lame.

It’s a good history of gangsters tour if you are interested in gangsters. Not much ghost stuff. But a good intro into the neighborhoods. Food tour would be more fun I think.

Pierre, our tour guide was amazing. He's friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. We arrived 2 minutes late he text us that he was waiting. Perfect location to meet and we walked at a good pace. Loved the tour and highly recommend.
