What To Expect

Make your own way to Times Square to meet your guide and board the Statue of Liberty Express bus.

Go directly to Battery Park in Lower Manhattan where your guide provides you with your early access ticket to Liberty Island. Go to the VIP express reserve line for the Statue of Liberty ferry and beat the crowds at the Statue of Liberty and Pedestal Museum. Your guide shares informative commentary as you explore the grounds of the Statue of Liberty and visit the Pedestal if you have selected the upgrade option.

After completing your tour of Liberty Island, your guide takes you to the Ellis Island Ferry and the Ellis Island Museum. In 1892, Ellis Island opened as a federal immigration station and operated for more than six decades until 1954. It is estimated that at least 40% of all current American citizens can trace one or more ancestors to Ellis Island. Have time on your own to see the museum and perhaps find your family members in the registers.

Return by ferry to Battery Park where your guide shows you highlights in the area such as the 9/11 Memorial (National September 11 Memorial). Return to Midtown Manhattan on the Statue of Liberty Express bus to end your tour.

Good luck y’all

Viator failed us and refused to get us a refund from unscrupulous tour company. The Statue of Liberty tour from midtown by attractions4usLLC is a ripoff. Tour documents promised pickup and drop off from midtown but left us to find a $80 taxi to get there and back ourselves on top of $300 tour bill. Add that to lackluster tour guide and no support from Viator, and we are ready to give up on both.
Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, and 9/11

Leann, the tour guide shared a lot of information about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. My son and I did not do the audio tours but they are available. The pace of the tour is somewhat fast, so if you want to delve into the history and take your time, then just get tickets to the boat. My son and I enjoyed the pace since we had other stops to make. Out of respect, Leann did not speak at the 9/11 memorial although she did share some details on the walk there. Be sure to go inside the Oculus.
Best Tour Ever!

Our guide LeeAnn was fabulous. She was knowledgeable about NYC, it's history, and gave us so much good information. Loved the tour, we were able to cross several items off of our list in one tour. We would highly recommend Viator tours!

Tour guide Cesar was excellent. Be prepared for a major hike around the area before the Statue Liberty tour starts. From the starting point at the Battery Park up through Wall Street and reaching the 9/11 Memorial then hiking back to Battery Park to wait for the boat to the Statue and Ellis Island. Wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared for security and it is the usual bottle neck but smooth. Communication by the tour provider was excellent, ease of booking, voucher availability, final instruction for transportation including all local number for tour guide contact and office. 7:15 AM call was returned within 3 minutes. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Museum was a tour that exceeded all expectations. Cesar was a wealth of knowledge and a willing photographer. He maintained a good pace for all with the rest stops at just the right time. And he is a guide of never ending patience. Included transportation was smooth with only a slight wrinkle, not them, let's just say a dead cell phone battery was the culprit! Return trip was directly to the hotel, very nice touch. All in all a great tour with a great guide.
