Personal trip through the Musee

Personal and informative trip through the Musee. Our guide was obviously an art lover. He was also an artist and was able to point out textures and techniques. I thought it would be a small group, but it ended up being just the two of us.

Damien (our guide) was terrific - knowledgeable & patient with teenagers. Two hours was the perfect amount of time for an overview of the museum. Of course, skipping the line was brilliant.

Tour guide was excellent and perfectly French :-) My family of four enjoyed learning about all the works of art and the context behind the history of the museum and the artists. Just enough, right length of time. Please note that the museum tickets are NOT included in the Viator price. Need to buy them separately ahead of time!

Great time at D'Orsay

Private tour guide was so interesting. I learned so much from her and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the paintings with a different lens. There is a special exhibit now to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibit that includes a virtual reality portion that is amazing - cannot recommend this highly enough. I didn't want to penalize the guide because I know her pay is tied to the rating so did not take 1 star off but there was a lack of clarity when booking that we needed to buy museum tickets separately. When we got to the entrance we were told our "tickets" were for the guide only. It was easy to buy them on site, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. Also our time with the guide was cut short about 30 minutes due to the wait to get into the museum (you do get a separate "group" entrance where the line is shorter, but still a wait). Overall great experience and would recommend.

Family tour

Christophe was a great guide. Meet up and logistics were fine. The tour was short (hour and a half) and had to buy museum tickets separately. The skip the line was confusing as we had to wait for a bit so not sure if that was an advantage to the tour purchase or not for the price paid. Christophe had great knowledge of the artwork and we learned a good deal from him. The art discussion a little tough for teenager so perhaps consider for older group.

Guide didn’t arrive

Our guide didn’t show up or answer any messages. Several hours later he texted and said he had declined the tour ahead of time but we were not notified.

Misleading title

The ticket was advertised as a “skip the line” guided tour with guide. However when we got to the museum the day of the tour and read the fine print it indicated that we needed to have purchased tickets on our own. The title was misleading. No tickets were available for several days. Our guide Gonzalo was very apologetic and indicated he attempted to alert us prior. He even attempted to help us find an alternative museum to visit as no tickets were available at the Orsay. But we did not understand given the title that entry tickets were not included. We used your competitors “The Tour Guide” and “Get Your Guide” several times. In each they advertised a “skip the line guided tour” tickets were provided. This was very misleading advertising.

Musée de orsay skip the line private tour

Tour was great and we loved our guide but paid for skip the line yet we waited in line for well over 30 minutes and it seemed to be the regular line so not sure I would have spent that much just to spend a large amount of our tour time time just standing in line. Maybe you should meet your guide inside so that so much time is not wasted.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. She was able to answer all of our questions about many different aspects of Paris. She definitely knew her art history and we learned a lot from her. She had us skip the coat check lines and brought us directly to the free lockers on the lower level.

Not engaging or child friendly !!

I was visiting with my 10 year old granddaughter (her first time). Our guide made no effort to adapt the tour to keep her engaged (there was only 1 other guest). She had a strong accent, so she was very hard to understand. Her delivery was so dry we left the tour after the first 10 minutes. Such a disappointment and waste of money.

zero. we got scammed. paid $250 for nothing. didn't get to go. We showed up on time, had called Viator ahead of time who told me to bring cash for tickets, the descriptions "does not include cost of ticket". But evidently doesn't include a ticket Paying to skip a line, then having to wait in a 90 min line sees not right to me. We did not wait. we left
