What To Expect

Make your way to the meeting point in central Paris, where you’ll board the air-conditioned coach for an early morning departure. Sit back and relax on the about 4-hour journey to the Normandy coast, making a stop to stretch your legs or use the restroom along the way.

On arrival, gain insight into the famous landmark from your guide’s introductory briefing before setting out to explore the historic monastery independently. Climb up to the hilltop Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, where you can use your included admission ticket and audio guide to visit the interiors and access the terrace viewpoints.

Enjoy up to four hours at the site, giving you time to admire the views, discover the medieval town, and have lunch at one of the many restaurants (own expense). Finally, meet back up with your guide and reboard the coach for the return journey to Paris.

Mont St Michel is a unique, beautiful place I have always wanted to visit. James and Ifi shared knowledge about the history of the area, restaurant recommendations and made entry to the busy tourist attraction easy. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We missed our tour, because the instructions we were given by Viator were incorrect. Our tour meeting point was changed, and we were not informed of this change. We arrived 45 minutes before our 7:00AM departure. Prior to 7:00AM no communication concerning the new meeting point was conveyed. We were all disappointed. Viator needs to establish better communication protocols for their travelers. The local number in Paris provided no help. The automated voice instructed us to call a number with three digits. Nothing. We lost our trip, and we lost our money. Thank you Viator

Long bus ride to Mont St Michelle due to traffic made for a long day. Many steps to get into the site. Interesting to see for first time.

The bus was on time. Our guide Habib or Hadi? Is very helpful and is very informative . We were lucky that day because the weather was great for walking. I would highly recommend City Tours.

Our intentions were to drive to Mont-Michel but I left my IDP back home so luckily we were able to book this tour quickly. It was nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the view. The abbey itself was gorgeous and it was amazing to see. So far it’s been the highlight of our France trip. The tour guide Ifi was very knowledgeable and personable. I enjoyed listening to her describe the areas history.
Wish we’d had more time there

There are a lot of steps. The tour guides give you history during the 4.5 hour bus ride there, but they do not walk with you through Mont Saint Michel pointing things out, instead you have a downloaded guide via your phone. We had some issues with our phones connecting and weren’t able to listen to it. If you’re agile you will have time to view this and get back down to eat. We needed to stop and take breaks walking up and so we did not have time to eat, but luckily had brought some protein bars. They told us we couldn’t take coffee on, yet 6 others on the tour got theirs on. We ended up leaving at 7:30am and were back at 8:30pm

Esma is friendly and shared good information of the history of Mont St Michel and Paris. The tour is bigger size than I imagined but luckily everyone is on time. I do wish we can spend 5 hours on the site, we had almost 4 hours this time.

Excellent day trip from Paris. It is a very long drive, but the architecture and scenery are worth it. Take your time to tour the abbey because there is not much else to do in the village other than eat and shop for souvenirs. Photo options abound if you’re up for walking and exploring from different angles and distances.

Our guide was wonderful, she told us the history of the region and Paris. She was lovely. We were able to go through the abbey at our own pace, a pleasant change from other tours where we are running to catch up.to the guide while still trying to get our pictures.

The views were breath taking .Normandy is beautiful. The view of Mont St Michel is breath taking as well as the views from it. Tour guide was excellent .Driver excellent. The excursion was easy, even with the long bus ride. The bus was comfortable. We are so glad we did this.

I really enjoyed this tour and our guide Sayeed was excellent! I liked the combo of this being a group tour (shared bus ride with history and facts from our guide); but also getting time to explore the area on my own and at my own pace- it wasn’t an all day group activity, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Beautiful but not worth the long bus ride

This place is absolutely worth seeing, but it is unfortunate that the bus ride is so long from Paris. We spent more time on the bus than actually at Mont St. Michel. It would have been nice to have more time at this area and also to maybe combine this with another site in the area to make it more worth the trip. Our tour guides were fine, but one was very loudly on the phone the entire bus ride back, when most people on the tour were trying to get some rest after such a long day and an early morning.

Lovely day and experience. The only real imprivement would be that our guide wear a brighter color (or in our case in the rain use a brightly colored umbrella) to stand out. It was very crowded and she wore all black so she blended into the crowd. Very informative otherwise!
