Your Mad Desert Trekking guide will meet you at Starbucks, 3165 E. Lincoln Drive, Phoenix, near the trailhead to the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Please use the parking lot to the west. Uber and Lyft offer convenient drop-off service at the Starbucks.

Liz was a fantastic guide! She was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Phoenix specifically about plants and animals in the area. She was very in tune with our skill level and allowed for breaks, etc as needed! This is a fun hike, however, it is a bit strenuous for those who may be used to just a similar mile walk. That being said the sunset was beautiful and so worth the effort to get amazing views!

Our tour guide Cooper was amazing. He gave us all the information about the different fauna of the desert. My son thoroughly enjoyed his hike and was very happy that Cooper took us to different peaks. The tour provided us with water and snacks for her hike which was an added bonus because we did not have to carry it. Overall and enjoyable experience.

Wonderful morning hike. Our guide, Jennifer, was awesome, providing extensive knowledge about the area. Jennifer was personable, experienced and really cared that we had a good time. The trail highlighted the beauty of Arizona and the sunrise was amazing. I would highly recommend this excursion. Pro tip: if visiting from the east coast, schedule the sunrise trek on your first day. You will be up early anyway!

We experienced the most amazing sunrise hike with our guide Henry! A true highlight of our vacation in Beautiful Scottsdale. Henry was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Henry not only guided us safely but also gave us so many interesting facts along the way! Highly recommend!!!

We had an amazing hike. My wife and I would highly recommend this experience. Jay was an incredible guide and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about the Phoenix area the desert and cactus, we loved it. Jay was kind and convenient. We walked at our pace. He took pictures for us and was very patient. An unbelievable way to start a day.

Jay was a wonderful guide. Very informative. I would like to do another hike Friday afternoon if there is something available. He stayed with me until my Uber showed up. As a 60 yo woman I appreciate his concern for my safety after dark in an empty parking lot.
