An unbelievable experience with an unbelievable tour group. From our driver Cesar safely getting us to and from the hotel, to Jose our tour guide being totally helpful and entertaining, to our photographers Chocolate 1 & 2!!! All in all a great experience and I recommend it 1000%

It was a very long day, but that was to be expected. I was a little hesitant about booking this excursion, because of some of the reviews I have seen, but as long as you know that the day is going to be long, and there really isn’t so easy of a way to do all the things you’re going to do, many other ways without taking time to travel there, it will be amazing! I loved it, my kids loved it, and for the amount of money you are paying, it is an excellent excellent value. Something to be remembered.

Our guide Jose was wonderful, the party boat lots of fun and Saona is beautiful! The buffet lunch was delicious. A very fun and full day that lets you see more of the region. We want to go back and spend time in Bayahibe!

We were told this was a 9 hour day...ended up being 13 hours. Traveling with children 5 & 8 years old, this is too long to go with only lunch served. We were crammed like sardines in a boat for the first 40 minutes and there was a total of 2 hours of water time. No snorkeling equipment was offered to anyone although we brought our own. Also, not a lot to see snorkeling on a sandy beach.

We will talk about the most memorable good experiences and then go into the terrible but memorable experiences Our group leader Jose was ok to explain things but not as attentive to the guests or their needs. Photographer Jordan (Snoop Dog) was fantastic. The warm, sunny beach of Saona and the beautiful crystal blue waters breathtaking. Ok now the not so good: Bus was a little late for pick up at our resort. The email says you don’t need anything but failed to mention have your ticket. Some of the vents were broken on the bus which had a/c but we were freezing especially the drive home. All the stops picking up other people also too long but understood. Once we got to the port which is around an hour we had to walk to get on the boat then wait in line for a bathroom which only had 2 small washrooms. No handwashing stations. Lots of vendors selling water proof cases, hats, bags etc. We stood around a long time to board our boat and several other tour groups arrived after us and left before us. No explanation other than they are getting our boat ready. Then when we finally boarded the catamaran we were the last of 3 groups on and there was no good seating left. Disappointed. Then nothing for us to drink even if we wanted some alcohol as all they had for mix was pop. Juice would be a nice option for people who don’t drink pop. Snacks would also be nice options. Entertainment on the catamaran fantastic. We arrived at Saona after approx 1 hr 45 minutes to find that we would be the last group off the catamaran and we were one of the last few groups already arriving for the day. Not nearly enough loungers in each section as we were again the last group to our section of 2/3 groups. Super long line up for the buffet meal which had good options. Food was hot and delicious but should’ve had more options. Again the bar on the island only had pop for mixing. How hard would it be to have juice or a punch? Would be nice to know there are other services offered for purchase. Photographer extra cost (worth the money) Pineapple pina coloda $10US amazing Massages $35 & up Fresh coconut $ Chips $ Not a lot of communication from the group staff while we were on the island. The trip home on the speedboat we had a couple intoxicated people and the boat was too crowded. Stopped at the starfish sanctuary and the water was fairly deep, cold and you couldn’t see anything. At this point we were freezing and then still had another 30-40 minutes sitting on a speedboat with water splashing all over you. Very cold ride back to port. Once we arrived back another long line for the tiny bathrooms, then walk to the parking lot to find NO BUS. Another wait of 20-30 minutes. Had to purchase snacks from the local vendors. Finally got on the cold, crowded bus at approx 6:30 didn’t arrive to our resort til 8:40pm. After getting on the bus they am passed back bottles with our photos on them as a souvenir but they were $15. At this point we felt it was just over the top and didn’t make us want to tip anymore. It was the longest, coldest ride ever. Would love the Saona island experience again but without all the terrible events.

I had a bit of issue with communication in the beginning but once that was resolved and the excursion began everything was more or less smooth. One thing I would say THIS EXCURSION IS 12 HOURS LONG INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION!!!! If you’re not willing to give up half your day to an excursion this is not for you!!! But once you have a good group and some friends you’ll be safe and fine!

Bad experience

Takes too long to get to the island. And you only get 2.5 hours on the island. I got motion sickness on the boat so when we arrived on the island I was too sick to eat. So when I feel better and was ready to eat all the food were gone. I asked the staffs about the food and they just gave me a "too bad" face. I was not happy with their bad attitude. A simple sorry all the food was gone would have suffice. I advice not to go on this tour.

We went on Sunday, Nov 12, 2023 and everything was more than we expected. It was a 10+ hr day and not once were we bored. Every stop was so much fun and every one of the hosts on the boat were exceptional!! Couldn't have asked for better people to spend the day with. Thank you for a fantastic trip.

The car picked us up at 7am and we didn’t get to the island until 1pm. We changed modes of transport 4 times to get there and 4 more times to get back (a taxi, bus, small boat then big boat) Didn’t get back to the hotel till 7pm. I wasn’t aware it would be such a looong day. I’ve been to a few island excursions and I wouldn’t do this one again the time was great but the 5 hour trip just to get there from Punta Cana wasn’t thrilling to me. The team was nice though.

Average experience, could've been better.

I took this trip with two of my friends. The pickup was great and on time, but the confusion begun when we reached Bayahibe port. There were many groups, and our guide barely introduced himself explained anything. We were given bracelets and that's about it. We didn't know to which group we belong exactly. The whole experience would've been much better if we had more info. Also, not all of all the info wasn't translated to English (I speak Spanish but my friends don't). Pros: Great pickup, awesome animators on the boat. Cons: Organisation, food was pretty basic (ordinary fish or chicken, pasta and rice as a side, slice of watermelon and banana).

Fantastic day and great value for money, the natural pools and Island are absolutely beautiful and the trip was overall well organised. The entertainment and open bar also great! Photographers are available, however make sure to take some of your own pictures as we were told they would be free during the introduction of the tour but then offered extortionate prices for the pictures at the end of the day ($160 USD for 100 pictures or $100 for 10). Unfortunately that meant we didn’t take so many of our own pictures during the day which we would have done had we known that the pictures were not included. Overall, would highly recommend this tour!

Saona island day trip

Plan for a long day...pick up was at 7am and didn't get back to our resort till 8:15 pm. Trip was okay overall but after a long day have to wait an extra half an hour because the driver stopped at KFC to let a group of girls get some chicken...while in the meantime I was missing my supper reservation. To make up for the time the the driver was the speeding, up to 110km, weaving in and out of traffic. Just thankful to get back to the resort in one piece.

Island was amazing! Didn’t know we would be hooping between boats we had some older people in our group it was hard on them. The music was very loud the complete trip made visiting hard. Swimming in the lagoon was breath taking! Overall enjoyed the day

While it was a great destination. The tour was very bad at the in between waiting for the different transports. It took us over 3 hours to arrive at the location to pick up the boat. When it should have taken an hour and a half if there was not so much waiting.

Travelled with three female friends, all of us were physically and verbally harassed by the tour guide. The island was beautiful but not much to do other than the beach, food was average. It’s a long journey so be prepared for a lot of transportation.
