Ester E was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour that kept the tour (only 2 of us) engaged and interesting. Had great samples of the food - although split decision on the fermented Shark. Eek! Well worth it - thanks Ester.

    Fun and informative

Our guide, Stefan, was really friendly and fun. We loved having a local show us around to the best spots and walk us through the history of the food. The fermented shark was definitely a highlight, and our guide was so helpful teaching how to eat it that it was actually a pleasant experience!
    Enjoyed our food tour

This was a great intro to Iceland. Olaf, our guide, was wonderful. She told us so much abount the country and the food that we would never have know otherwise. I highly recommend this quick 3 hour tour - and asking for Olaf!
Looting pillage and rape without the vikings

Our guide was very nice and informative. We started with a cup of lamb broth in paper cups. Next was a .5cm piece of shark with a shot of alcohol and a small amount of fish stew on a paper plate in a tourist diner. On to a hot dog stand. The finale was a lamb tartar and a char canapé with a beer at a family style bar and grill (I would go back for a burger). All this for a measly $384 for two. I asked our guide about brut, a restaurant we passed. He said it was too pricey for him. If we had the priciest meal with wine it would have been much less than the crap we had. No puffin or whale for those expecting exotics at that price. Complete rip off from out point of view. All 3 places were plainly visible in the tourist area and we had been to 2 on out own. Total cost of food on our own would have been 70 or 80 dollars not 384. Out guide was quite nice but not worth an extra 300 usd.

Steffen did an amazing job. He gave great recommendations for food, drinks, and culture. Bring bigger pants: you will eat plenty of food. He did a great job informing and entertaining my wife and eye. It cost a little extra, but totally worth it. Most people pay a lot more for this much entertainment.
Full marks for the guide! Highly recommend!

Our guide Guoni is awesome! He is so knowledgeable about the Icelandic food culture and communicated well with us. Apart from what the tour package offered, he also took us to a supermarket to examine the food local people would purchase. It was such an eye-opening experience that we came to understand how food supply and people's eating habits have been shaped in this country over its history and geographical conditions. Full marks for Guoni!
    Excellent start

Wonderful food tour with tastings of several different Icelandic staples. Also a good walking tour around the midborg section of town.
    Amazing!💜

We had an absolutely wonderful time. Our Friend in Reykjavík Guðni was welcoming, funny, and gave us all the recommendations we wanted and even more for more restaurants and entertainment during our stay in Iceland. The food tour itself was perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed every location and the tastings that were provided. We were even taken on little detours to see local stores and were given history on various Icelandic foods. 10/10 we will return to see our “Friend in Reykjavík”!
    Amazing tour and food ....

    Price Quality was not good

Our guide was fine, but the price/Quality Balance is not good. We had not many foodstops. We paid a high clash price for just ordinary food.
