Such a great way to get to know the city! Our guide, Ásthildur (Warrior of Love), was fantastic. She is personable and extremely knowledgeable. She kept the conversation lively. There were fourteen or so of us on the tour. The walking between restaurants was nice. The food was great. The restaurants all has special areas for us when we arrive. I highly recommend this tour and our guide, Warrior of Love!

    What a disappointing food tour
    Karina_D, Apr 2024
My husband and another couple went on the food tour on March 13 and we were so disappointed. We went on food tours before and thus expected to learn so much about the local food, exports and local culture. Our guide was nice but preferred the one on one interaction there did not share much local culture info and stories while we were walking. It would also sit with a group and eat the food instead of sharing local culture info and stories. Often, we weren’t quite clear what we were eating. In terms of food offerings, there were a few interesting things but was expecting way more exotic items such as puffin and whale that we did not get to taste. We seemed to taste lamb in several places and did not quite understood the redundancy. The Icelandic hot dog pitstop was interesting (not our fav) but I understand the idea behind it. But I would not serve a whole hotdog but rather a tasting bite. We ended up throwing away half of ours. The fermented shark was great and this is the type of food foreigners want to experience. So please had puffin and whale which is what I thought I would be getting at some point during the tour. I also saw some Icelandic donut in a shop but did not try it thinking we would have it during the tour. Overall, I would skip this tour unless they revamp it.

A lovely short, lesuirely walk between eating stops. A great opportunity to mingle with other like minded tourists, and swap recommendations of other tours and places to visit. A great tour in Reykjavik

Bryndis was an awesome tour guide! She explained the foods at each of our stops, as well as gave us some history of the restaurants. Her friendly spirit and welcoming personality made us feel a part of her circle. She explained many traditional customs and how they affect her life today. Great experience!

There was a good variety of food and drink, and it was a nice orientation to the city. Minty our guide did an excellent job of keeping us all on track and entertained, including the children on our tour. I highly recommend this tour!
Great way to start your Iceland vacation!

Ben was our tour guide for the day. It felt like we spent the afternoon with a friend. The restaurants we visited were perfect and the food was delicious. For us, the lobster tacos at Sjávargrillið🦞were definitely our favorite, amazing flavors, beautiful presentation. And the piece de resistance, the Rye bread ice cream at Cafe Loki was a delicious treat! We arrived in Iceland at 6:00 am the day of our food walk and it was the perfect way to start our vacation. 🤩
    PERFECT!!

Our Reykjavík food tour guide was Stevie through Wake Up Reykjavík! He was such a joy! He’s a local and knew so much about the history, local shenanigans, and best places to eat. The 3 hour tour flew by. We chose the dinner tour and it was perfect. 5 different dishes! I’d say we walked about a mile in all? We started at the Harpa Concert hall and ended at Hallgrimskirka church. 100% recommend.
    Fabulous tour

Burger was a fantastic guide who has the gift of gab and such an enthusiasm about Iceland and its cuisine/culture. Not only was my belly happy I came away more educated. The food was amazing and would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time on this food tour. Our guide, Ben, was amazing! He interacted really well with the group specially with my 6 year old daughter. She had a blast despite the walking and kept her thoroughly entertained.

The food walk is a must. Apart from tasting the local food, you get information about Iceland's history and the daily life of the locals. Our guide Bryndis was awesome.

    Walking Food Tour
    Anya_B, Apr 2024
If you are not an adventurous eater then this is not the tour for you as there is really no "regular" items. On our tour, there was 3 fish dishes, 2 lamb dishes and a dessert, all very much prepared in the local ways. If you want a food tour that is very much Icelandic cuisine, this is a great tour for you.
    Great Food Tour.
