Amazing and unique experience
KarenB, Apr 2024
During our food tour, we sampled hangikjöt, which is cold oven-smoked lamb. The fuel used for smoking is dried sheep dung, placed on the oven floor. Our culinary adventure included cured salmon served on goat cheese and sweet beet root bread. I declined to taste the traditional Icelandic delicacy of fermented shark bites, Hakarl. No thank you. We ended the evening with a shot of Brennivin, better known as “Black Death”, the Icelandic’s distinctive spirit. Loosely referred to as potato wine.
Yummy and fun!

Guide and raconteur Stefan was delightful and informative.Restaurents and food presented to us were wonderful. I would recommend a food tour. There was some walking but it was mostly flat till the very end .
Fun, learning and food

Great way to get a taste of Reykjavik! The guide, Bo, was knowledgeable and fun. Loved being able to try different foods that I wouldn’t normal know to order in my own.
Good food, fantastic guide

Food and experience was good. Our guide, Sven Björn AKA Bo, made this excursion absolutely PERFECT !!
You gotta have this hotdog 🌭
Karrie_F, Apr 2024
Love the tour, and the food was very good! (maybe minus the fermented fish😳😬) the hotdog was probably our favorite, which sounds funny to say, but it’s a really interesting hotdog and it was delicious!
Pleasant but , predictable

Always good to meet fellow travellers at a focused gathering. The guiding and experience were not that great, but the company made up for it. Unfortunately, the guide who was a lovely man told us exactly what was going to happen in the following couple of hours, which of course led to no surprises at all.
Must do activity for Iceland

Our guide Esther was the best! She took us to multiple locations and spoke not only about the food but also about the history and culture of the land. The food was great too.

Joy_H, Feb 2024
It was a great experience with Bardi as our guide. Wonderful and interesting places were enhanced by tasty food and stories from our guide. Definitely recommend this tour.
A wonderful tasting experience
Laura_M, Feb 2024
Our guide , "Ole" didn't excellent job I'm taking us to restaurants that had authentic Icelandic ingredients, that were also palatable to our North American taste buds. Even talked almost all of us into trying the fermented shark and although I wouldn't order it in bulk it wasn't horrible! Every stop was different and unique and not places we might have otherwise stumbled upon. Definitely a wonderful way to experience authentic Iceland.
A great sampling of Iceland!
Shannon_G, Feb 2024
Great tour! We got our bearings for the city walking around and got to try a lot of different foods that I likely wouldn’t have had otherwise. All the food was delicious and our guide Stefan was great and shared a lot of the history of Iceland!
Wonderful, I would highly recommend !

We have a wonderful guide who was very Informative about Icelands history and the food was great - very tasty, some foods I never thought I would ever try. The chilli sauce was ‘HOT’ really enjoyable ! We have been back to the lobster soup restaurant to have it again.
