Overview

Learn where the phrase “all roads lead to Rome” comes from during this unique cycling tour of the Appian Way. You’ll hop on an electric mountain bike and ride into the countryside. As you ride along the “Queen of Roads”, you’ll enjoy zero foot or vehicle traffic on ancient Roman aqueducts. On your journey, you’ll pass by or stop at sites like the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella and the remains of the Aqua Claudia and Aqua Felix waterways.

To partecipate to the tour you need good cycling experience.
The food stop can change due to holidays or special events.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Best Tour in Rome

This was by far the peak experience we enjoyed in our few days in Rome. Ricardo was a knowledgeable guide with deep understanding of Roman history, multilingual amd affable. The e-bikes were a dream and the lunch featuring regional specialties was spectacular. We were given plenty of time to explore amd enjoy each of the historical places we went to, and the 30km bike ride was mostly flat and super fun, with plenty of stops to experience the rich history of Rome. I wish all the tours we booked were as enjoyable as this one.

We had a blast! Highly recommend!

Very different Rome experience

We had a great trip. There had been rain the day before and we were also expecting the possibility of rain on the ride - operators made sure we were comfortable with the more ‘skilled’ conditions (wet pavement, slippery mud, etc.). One of our party decided to sit it out and a refund was promptly processed (we all agreed she made the right choice for her comfort). We did get wet and muddy but waited out the worst of the rain under the arch of an aqueduct - when else can you say you got to do that! Great time, do recommend.

The best day we had in Rome. Our guide was really good, the e-bikes were all in working order and the tour was a great day out. The food at lunch could do with some improvement, not everyone got a piece of everything.

Perfect view of Rome

This was by far the funnest tour and best tour we could have done! I highly recommend. Not only did you get to bike your entire way through Rome, our tour guys made sure we were safe, we’re super knowledgeable and the dinner at the end was probably like my favorite, cuz I like to eat haha. It is a little intensive tho. When I first head we were going “off roading” I almost didn’t do it. As An American, it made me think of some BMX crazy stuff and it wasn’t so don’t be concerned, it just meant you would be going through the city to the outskirts and the e-bikes make it surprisingly easy! You can go as hard or easy as you wish. It was a full like maybe 15 miles and about 4 hours of almost non stop cycling- but so fun! Highly recommend.

An absolute blast!

We have been on numerous guided tours all over Europe and this was, by far, our favorite. Our guide, Camille and Matias were an absolute blast. They showed us things we hadn't dreamed of experiencing and they took care of our safety with extreme care, stopping traffic and and making sure we were safe. We learned so much from Camille, a very down-to-earth, sweet and enthusiastic Archaeologist with a pure passion for the history of Rome. She was vibrant, excited and loves what she does and that made us enjoy the trip that much more! We enjoyed every aspect of the tour...The Catacombs were mind-blowing, the story of the Appian way was intriguing, the Aqueducts amazing and lastly, the food was delicious and the company was entertaining. Mind you, I'm typically a harsh and honest reviewer. I couldn't recommend this tour enough. Well worth the time and a great value for the education and sights you get to experience.

Great experience but not for the faint of heart.

Great guides and wonderful bikes. Good food for lunch. Could have been a hour or two shorter to still get the essence of the experience. Also watch out for the original section of the Appian Way since the bike tires are easily caught between the stones resulting in disaster if you aren’t careful.

We loved the sites we saw. The tour at the catacombs was informative and memorable. However... we did not feel the bike ride was conducted in a way that was safe for all. We were contaminated scolded by our guide for going too slow and not keeping up, even though we were often honked at and cut off by angry drivers and motorcycles. They did not like waiting for a long line of bikes and we were on the end. We often felt it was more unsafe to force our way in front of cars and were then scolded by our guide. The information given by our guide was interesting.

Our guide Bruno was fantastic. His knowledge of history added another level to the tour. The Catacombs was an amazing stop and separate tour. The bikes were great, easy to ride. We covered a lot of ground on the Appian Way and riding next to the Aqueducts was amazing. Highly recommended!

A beautiful and fascinating bike tour

This was the best tour we’ve done in Italy by far! The ride was gorgeous and thrilling, and our guide Bruno had a fantastic depth of knowledge to speak to, without spending too much time at each stop talking which I appreciate. One of the highlights was the midday meal at a local spot.

The address listed on the confirmation was seemingly easy we walked from our hotel with 15 minutes to spare. We arrived and there was nothing there we then found another address listed on the site and took an Uber and the driver brought us to that door and there was nothing there, we were trying to call all phone numbers in the site and these did not work either. Very frustrating no one called to help us either. I will have to dispute the charge.

It’s write on the voucher, and also in the descriptions, it’s 5 minutes walking from the main station. We didn’t get any call and all the group waited 30 minutes for you. I am sorry for your bad experience with info and maybe maps, but we have no power on it.
