    Interesting walk through history

Tour guide was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Vatican. The use of the headsets were great and the first time for me. It was nice because you didn’t have to be right near her to hear what she was saying. The Colosseum tour was amazing! Roman architecture is breathtaking! This tour, in-line many others allowed us to be on the floor of the Colosseum, it was a much different perspective than being on the perimeter. The tour guide we had for the second half was also very knowledgeable, he said he was an archeologist, and was able to answer all our questions. We met interesting people on the tour and were able to reconnect after the tour was over and in the next city.

Ramn architecture is indeed breathtaking! Thank you for choosing to experience our Supersaver: Vatican Museums and Colosseum Small-Group Tour Access from the Arena tour!
    A really wonderful Tour

We had a great tour of Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum. Our small group met at the Tour Office and we walked firstly down into the Forum. It rained a little and an Umbrella was necessary. There were "cheap" umbrellas on sale for 5 Euro - and slightly dearer umbrellas for a negotiated 8 euro. Get the dearer one as one of the Tour bought the cheaper one and it lasted only to the top of Palatine Hill (20 minutes?). The tour took us through the forum, up Palatine Hill and then to the Colosseum. Being on the main arena floor and looking up is really worthwhile. You can only stay for 20 minutes and then the tour progresses up into the stands. There is a lift for those less mobile. The tour was a highlight. Loved Rome!!!

Thank you, Robert! Happy to learn you loved Rome and our tour!
Excellent guides, good place for tourists.

Our guide for the Vatican tour was Diego, a lovely man who explained everything thoroughly and made sure the group was together before moving on. Made the tour engaging and responded heartily to questions asked. Also made sure everybody could see what was going on and was very friendly when guiding us. For the Colosseum tour, our guide, Dennis, was similar and made the experience enjoyable. Made sure to keep eye contact with us at all times to ensure we were listening and kept us engaged. Knew the attraction well and even threw in his own personal opinion at times! Both tours were very fun and taught us a lot about these places in Rome. Could’ve been better if we had time to check out the gift shop so we could purchase souviers though. Overall, a great experience!

So first of all, these two tours should not be grouped together. They were a lotbto absorb and if someone chose to do both so be it, but it was too long as a whole. They are two seperate tours which we had to arrange transport ourselves to each one. Both tour guides, while they knew their material, their Italian accent was very strong and they both spoke at the group instead of to them. I could hear other guides not doing this. The Vatican Tour wait was ashame as we watched City Wonders groups walk in ahead of us. The Colosseum tour would have been much better if at first we didn't have to walk 15 minutes extra just to get to the tour office, then wait there for at least 30 to 40 minutes while they straightened everything out.
    Wonderful

Tour was amazing. Even though there was a lot of people at the sites, the guide made it easy and you really felt relaxed to enjoy the experience. Finding the office for the afternoon tour was a little challenging. Our tour guide Diego was very knowledgeable and personable.

A guided tour which shows you all MUST-SEE sights in Rome in one day. We skipped the lines in the Vatican and the Colosseum and we had two good professional qualified Rome guides, Flavia for the Vatican in the morning and Diego for the Colosseum, Palatino and Forum in the afternoon. It includes the highlights of all sites above, without being too long or boring with many details. Both tours were done with headsets, which is also good. We started with no delays for them both. We exited the Vatican around 12.00 and we had to be at the meeting point for the second tour at 13.00, so make sure you don't spend much time shopping or having lunch for a long time, otherwise, you'll miss the second tour for the Colosseum, Palatino and Forum. One piece of advice: We did not know that the main street by our meeting point for the Colosseum, Via Imperiale, is closed to traffic on the weekends, so we took a taxi and it could not take us too close to the meeting point. Better use the metro from the Vatican and get off in front of the Colosseum if it's a weekend. I do not think walking is feasible within the free time left between the 2 tours. The 2nd tour ended around 16.30, so it is a full day and one must be prepared for much walking and some climbing, but it is worth doing it. I definitely recommend it and hope it always has as good guides as we had!

This was a great deal! Paid for in Cdn ahead of time and being recognized at arrival for tour was very comforting. The guides were wonderful, full of information, very easy to understand, enjoyable to be with and accommodating to individuals in the small group. This is a full day so be prepared as it is well worth it. Skip the line is exactly that ... good thing as you should have seen the line if you had tried to enter the Vatican on your own. Having a guide is so very necessary unless you are a Historian in Art and Culture. I would book again with Viator for future excursions anywhere! Thanks to our guides as they were outstanding!!

Everything about the tours was fantastic, especially the guides we had. Our only problem was the second part of the tour was scheduled for us at 1:45 PM, and when we showed up the tour had already left at 1:00 PM. Our paperwork had given us an erroneous meet time so the tour group put us into a later group.

The Vatican tour was wonderful - and so glad to be able to skip the lines. Claudia was a terrific guide and handled the pressure of the large crowds beautifully. The Colloseum tour was also very good - though we felt that our tour guide wasn't quite as sensitive to the large group and her pace was sometimes a little too quick for the participants. The group was large, and she didn't always wait for the stragglers to catch up. Her knowledge and presentation were great, though. Overall, a great way to see the highlights, particularly on a limited time frame. We were expecting smaller groups, but the people we met - both guides and other travelers - were very congenial. Would recommend.

Vatican tour was excellent - thorough and informative tour guide and planned well. Colosseum tour was abysmal. Rosa was the tour guide and did not have a firm enough grasp of English to be able to conduct the tour effectively - constantly repeating herself and struggling with what to say, using incorrect words or syntax, and generally did not lead the tour well. The tour pace was sluggish and few people were actively engaged with Rosa and she didn't seem to understand that what she was doing wasn't working. We barely lasted out the Colosseum portion and decided to turn in our headset and bail on the rest of the Forum and other parts. Good thing, too, as the all headsets stopped working and were only transmitting static by the end of the Colosseum. Would not recommend.

The Vatican tour with Felicity Fay was above and beyond anything and everything that we could have dreamed off. The tour itself was breathtaking. Vatican city, Sistine chapel and St. Peters Basilica are not something one can appreciate from a picture. Being there is a completely different experience than what I had expected. The artwork stops you in your tracks and overpowers you. You lack words to describe what you feel. Fay certainly added to the experience. She is full of energy and you can feel her excitement. As you walk through Vatican city it is as if shes experiencing the artwork and architecture with you for the first time. Her immense knowledge of artwork, architecture, and Christianity added so much depth to our tour. Aside form that her humor created a congenial atmosphere amongst our group. Our tour of the coliseum and the roman forum with Lumi was a wonderful experience. The sites themselves are attractive and Lumi made them come alive with her knowledge of history, sardonic sense of humor, and her ability to connect with the travelers. We learned a great deal on this tour and were also able to step back in time to a world that transpired at the crossroads of Roman civilization. It is a worthwhile tour.

Our guide for the Vatican was awesome and made our experience fantastic. The guide for the Colosseum was just so-so though sweet but what made our experience less enjoyable was the disorganization at the meeting place/contractor. The tour started late and there was general chaos.

Know that this is 2 seperate tours, run locally by Journey to Italy. Morning tour - Vatican Place is packed and know that you will be among a TON of people. Early entrance is relative as you get an early entrance but it is not in a small group. Once in, the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel are AMAZING. So totally worth going in. Do not be a bonehead like many American were, but listen to your guide when they say no pictures are allowed in the Sistine Chapel. Have some respect. Afternoon tour - The Forum, Palantine Hill and Colosseum THE BEST PART OF THE DAY was the afternoon tour, given by our own Roman God, Dennis. This local Roman man shared his love and knowledge of his hometown thorughout the entire 3 hours. He answered every question by looking you in the eye and ensuring that whatever you did not know, he would find the answer for you. I highly recommend the Colosseum tour if Dennis is your guide. He made it worth it.

The biggest thank you to our tour guide, Fe! If it was not for her I do not think this tour would have been as amazing as it was. Fe's knowledge of the history of the Vatican and Colosseum gave us a better understanding, insight and appreciation of these two marvelous places. Also Fe's bubbly personality helped immensely. We definitely would recommend this tour and if you have Fe has your guide, you will have an added bonus! : Val and Colin from Perth Western Australia

Very informative tour with a great tour guide. Highly recommend. At first did not like the idea of a 7.30am start however this proved great as the place got very crowded towards the end of the tour.
