Needed More Time in St Peter's

This was the most disappointing tour we had in Italy. We met the guide and gained early access to St. Peiter's Basilica. We had miss most of the crowd and toured some of the dome. Back in the basilica We should have had much more time. There were no crowds. We were rushed out thinking we could come back, Not. We then pasted the line to tour the Vatican Gardens and the Sistine Chapel. We spent over an hour in the gardens...To us it was a total waisted of time. By this time it was VERY crowded to get into the Sistine. Everyone was too worn out to walk through the museum. A disappointment.

This tour was the whole package!

A waste of time

Dates changed according to Lady because Vatican was closed but when I asked the Vatican people I was told that they wasn't closed on my original date. The briefing she gave me and my wife was inaccurate as to what actually happened. In addition, she put us in the wrong group..

Buy a tour from the official Vatican site. All you're getting by booking this is a lady meeting you at a cafe outside, walking you up to the group booking tour desk and leaving you there. She also "couldn't get the tickets at the time you wanted" - so we had to wait 2 hours between the museum and basilica and had to cancel our plans for the rest of the afternoon - And even then we had to find the tour guide at the basilica by ourselves. The tours are beautiful. Would recommend to anyone. Especially saint Peter's basilica. Just not this viator package. Go through the official website.

Sirs It has always been our understanding that most guests would apperciate a short break around midday after touring Vatican Gardens and Vatican Museums for over three hours. The one hour break before taking one hour Basilica tour allowes for spending more time in the Sistine Chapel as well as for resting and regaining energy in order to fully appreciat the most magnificent Basilica. This tour should not be booked by guests who have limited time during the day and are in a rush.

The skip the line entry with someone walking us into the Vatican, getting our headphones and waiting with us till the tour started was good. Our tour guide was excellent. We also had a tour guide in St Peters Basilica. The only negative was we paid about 80 euros for this service and believed our tickets were included in this price. They were not and we were charged another 35 euros for those tickets which were waiting for us before our tour. The tour had about 24 people so I believe there were lots of profit to be had.

Vatican was Great but Avoid this Tour Operator

The Vatican was great, but avoid this tour operator; Trip Advisor is usually right on, but not with this operator. Meeting time was different depending on text or email. The only thing the operator guide does is collect cash for the Vatican tour (which is not included in the booking price) and escort you to the museum to meet your Vatican guide. Fabio was the Vatican gardens and museum guide and he was great. Book this tour directly through the Vatican or a different operator through Trip Advisor.

Vatican tour was fine. Customer service, not so much.

Viator had the time of my tour wrong. I purchased an 8:00 tour and all my paperwork supported this. I got to the designated meeting place at 7:30 and was told my tour was at 9:00. Viator’s representative on site was of no help and she said she couldn’t get in touch with anyone from her company. Was of no help at all.

Bad experience!!!

Please DON’Tsign up for this tour!!! The organizer met me in the morning. Escorted me into the first part of the tour and left. Unfortunately, she told me to follow the wrong group.. by the time I met up with the group I was supposed to be with, I missed part of the tour.. the organizer then told me to meet her at 1:00 to get me into the next half of the tour. We’ll, she never showed up.. I stayed in the sweltering heat for an hour and a half waiting for her until I left.. no communication to me at all.. she later texted me to ask if I want to do the other half of the tour the next day.. Are you kidding me??? Viator better refund me.. what was supposed to be an experience I dreamed of my whole life turned out to be a HORRIFIC day!!!!

Please note that upon redemption of the admission tickts, as a courtesy, we accompany our guests past security of Vatican Museums and process for you the check in for the tour at the tour desk. However, once you check in and receive instructions it is your responsinility to stay put and wait to be called by name to avoid missing the tour or joining the wrong group. Other guests booked for the tour had no problem described above. Neither had they the problem to find the meeting point for the Basilica tour later in the day. We understand that Vatican may be very busy and confusing these days. Maggie lead the tour through the Vatican Gardens and a part of the Museum. She was wonderfully knowledgeable and made the tour quite interesting. We could of stayed longer, but left to meet our next tour guide…The best part was the Vatican Tour with Agnes. It was just us and her! She was awesome. Every direction we looked, she had an interesting historical story for what we looked at. She was so full of knowledge of the Vatican! We asked her many, questions and she welcomed every one! She also had an answer for every single question and theory we threw at her! Very kind, very patient and so excited to explain the history and art within the Vatican. After the tour was over, She left us to explore on our own, and gave us some recommendations. Thank you for a wonderful tour Agnes! We enjoyed every moment with you!

3 hour tour was well worth it. Our tour guide Valentina was fantastic. You almost have to book this tour or odds are you won’t get in. The lines were long and it’s not even peak season. The Vatican is absolutely stunning
