Wonderful day in Frascati learning about wine and local history

We had an amazing experience during our tour in Frascati that exceeded expectations. We learned about the local grapes and history of the area, got a tour of the vineyard, and tasted delicious wines. Afterwards, we were taken back into the town of Frascati and given a walking tour of the town before going to the restaurant for lunch. Lunch was delicious with meats and cheeses, pasta, and wine. Definitely would recommend this as a day trip out of Rome!

A great day out. Easy to get to via train, the vineyard is amazing (say hello to the dog), followed by a quick village tour and lunch. A nice break from the city.

We've been to several wine tasting events in other countries and can say this one was by far the most enjoyable. The lady who hosted our party was the boss but, unfortunately, I can't remember her name, however, she was really informative and lead the event well. Both the historic setting and the buildings were really interesting with the caves/vaults below being an added bonus. The wine tasted wonderful and the tasting instruction was educational. The only pity was we didn't have an opportunity to buy any at the winery. We then visited the quaint and historic town of Frascati where we had lunch in a local restaurant. The weather was against us but this part of the event was also very enjoyable and worthwhile. A highly recommended wine tour.

We had a great day meeting lots of new people and a very informative tour. The wine freely flowed and we were given a great tour of the wine cellars and the environment where the wine is made. We later went on for a guided tour of Frascati which was lovely and gave us an insight into the local produce, this was followed by lunch with our fellow tour participants. Wine again flowed well and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed with a nice traditional Italian lunch served where the locals go!

The wine tour itself was a wonderful and informative experience. After that it was all downhill! Our next guide walked us through the town pointing out a few things then had us seated at the restaurant and left us at the mercy of staff who were not happy to have our group there. Not a pleasant experience. Slow to serve us and food not great.

Very Relaxing and Charming Visit

We really enjoyed our trip to Frascati. It was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of Rome. The guide at the vineyard was very friendly, informative, and funny. We loved visiting with the family dog, Bear, as well. The wine and food provided were delicious. The views from the vineyard were beautiful. This is a great trip to get some relaxing time away from Rome. The train was also very easy to figure out as foreigners not used to riding trains.

Wine tasting in medieval wine caves, more wine and local cheeses, meats, olive oil in a beautiful garden overlooking the vineyard and olive groves, small group, charming hostess, followed by a city tour, wine and pork "pizza" at a small bakery and then an amazing lunch of antipasto and fresh pasta. Best tour of our trip!

The winery was so interesting. We learned how to taste and understand different levels of wine. We toured the tunnel of an ancient winery. The tunnels dated back to 200ac. The tour of the town was informative and the lunch was fantastic. Our group of strangers on the tour were really fun, and we all continued to enjoy the town together after the lunch. We made new friends from other parts of the world. Really enjoyed the experience!

The hour of the Antiche Terre Tuscolone winery was the highlight of all of the tours we booked through Viator. Our tour guide, the owner of the vineyard, was SO very knowledgeable and was easy to understand. She answered questions and for sure, her passion for making wine was clear to all. We will be talking about this experience for a long time to come!! After the actual winery tour, we continued into the quaint town of Fascati - also AMAZING!! A day well spent.

Enjoyed the family farm house winery. Very good wine and pairings. The lunch in town was a little under whelming, for some reason we expected it to be more food, at least some pasta. In talking to others on the tour, they paid a lot less than we did. I would highly suggest that you advise future customers to not rely on getting a return train ticket to Rome at the Frascati terminal. The machines were not working and we had no choice but to just get on the train where we were all fined for not having a ticket. Tour of town was fun and tour guide was great.

Vineyard great, but Frascati tour terrible

The vineyard tasting was fabulous but it was ruined by the second half of the tour, in which everything in frascati was closed (and would be all day because it was a Monday, we were subsequently to though the tour company tried to suggest they had warned us of this, it was not at all clear - so, be wanted! ) and we were served lunch at a deeply unhygienic restaurant where I had to keep my elbow out of a nasty old cigarette butt jar and avoid the bird poop covered wall (see pics taken from where I was sat) . Also the tour guide managed to subtly bring up how much in need of money he was. Again, the first part at vineyard was lovely but the second part in Frascati was far below par.

The guides at the winery and in town were excellent and entertaining! The wines and snacks at the winery were delicious capped off with the lunch in town, we all left stuffed and a little tipsy. Highly recommend this tour to any type of group in Rome looking to get away from the city for a day and get a taste of a smaller town in Italy.
