What To Expect

Your tour begins with pick-up from Fisherman’s Wharf and a drive past San Francisco’s iconic landmarks. Head north towards Napa and Sonoma, stopping at Oxbow Public Market, where you have time for a coffee and pastry of your choosing.

Then, stop in Napa Valley for your first wine tasting (tasting fees own expense, waived with a wine purchase) and to learn about what makes this region world-famous. Enjoy local wines while learning about the winemaking process and the terroir.

After your first tasting, head to Sonoma Square where you have time to enjoy several dining options. Opt for a sit-down lunch at a Michelin-star restaurant, a self-guided walking food tour, a picnic-style lunch, or add on an additional wine tasting.

Then, it’s time to travel to Sonoma for your next wine tasting at a family-owned vineyard.

Following your tasting in Sonoma, return back to your meeting point in San Francisco.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Good tour, average vineyards.

It is a good tour. The tour guide friendly and open to help. Have water and snacks for the road. The vineyards we visited were average. I expected more. They served small portions of each wine in the same glass with no explanation of the grape or wine but the history of the vineyard and the awards they have won. We made a stop in Sonoma square for lunch and optional tastings. It was the best part of the tour for me. I got Highway 12 tasting, great experience.

Wine tasting and food experience

This is the best way to explore both Sonoma and Napa Valley. We had an awesome guide who was able to tell us everything about wine country and wine tasting. We had two food experiences and we had three wine tastings. This tour does NOT include tasting fees, which was great, because we ended up buying wine which waived all the fees. Go with Dylan’s Tours Ultimate Wine tour, use promo code “local10” for a discount if you book directly off their site.

Wonderful introduction to Napa & Sonoma

Absolutely loved this tour! This tour is a perfect introduction to wine country. This was our first trip to the San Francisco area. We were staying in Sausalito at Inn Above Tide and were wanting a day trip to Napa & Sonoma. We enjoy drinking wine, but we don't consider ourselves to be wine experts. We are just open to new experiences and tastes. I spent a lot of time researching, and kept finding wine tours that would only take you to Napa OR Sonoma. Another issue I was finding was that most tours were private tours with exorbitant prices. A few of the tours even wanted you to make your own reservations at wineries, so the tour really was strictly paying for the transportation. Luckily, I found this tour a few days before we arrived and booked it. The communication was great, with easy to understand meet up instructions. We easily took an Uber from Sausalito to the meet up point and met with the group. Our tour guide was funny and had a great personality. The group was smaller, probably less than 20 people - which we enjoyed. We rode on a comfortable, smaller tour bus. You get a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for some quick (but great!) photos, then drive to Oxbow Public Market for some coffee and pastries or snacks. Try the breakfast sandwich that is a favorite of Oprah's! You'll then spend the afternoon visiting 1 winery in Napa, a stop at Sonoma Plaza for lunch on your own, and then stop at 1 winery in Sonoma. We really enjoyed how the tour was organized, it made it simple for us to visit Sonoma & Napa and not have to think twice about transportation. The price point was very fair. My only recommendation would be, if it was possible - to have a photo stop at both the "welcome to Sonoma Valley" & "welcome to Napa Valley" signs. I 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting wine country.

Excellent day in Napa and wine country

Had an incredible day exploring wine country with the best guide!! Our day started off in San Francisco where we got to get out and grab amazing photos at the Golden Gate Bridge. Since we started earlier in the day nobody else was there which was such a cool experience. From there we drove into Napa while our guide told us stories about the area and also shared his own personal experiences about growing up in the area. We had a breakfast stop at an indoor market in Napa that had a lot of amazing food to choose from. I went for a bagel and lox from the deli right when you walk in. Our first winery was beautiful and the tastings were delicious with plenty of time to walk around the property and explore on your own. We even got to walk through the vineyards. We then got 2 hours for lunch in Sonoma which I loved because there was no rush and I was able to have lunch and also do some shopping and then stopped in for a quick wine tasting on my own at a spot called Highway 12. The area is beautiful and the park in the center would be perfect for a picnic lunch since you are allowed to drink your own wine in that area. Our second winery was my favorite out of the two. The employees there were very friendly and did a good job at explaining the wines and answering all of our questions. I even ended up buying a few bottles there and got my tasting fees waived because of that. We then were driven back into the city and listened to some great music as we watched the sunset over the vineyards. Couldn't have asked for a better day. This is a must do tour!!

Our wine country guides are simply the best and we love how they fold in personal experiences along the way. We never enjoy cancelling tours, but did our best for 5 days prior to your tour date to email, text, and call multiple times, offering options for other days, but never heard a response until the day before the tour. It was me personally that made all these calls and sent the texts and tried my best to contact you well in advance. We take our guide's health and that of our guests seriously and could not, in good faith, run this tour. That said, we truly apologize (as mentioned in each text, voicemail, and email) for the inconvenience this may have caused, as we understand how travelers have limited flexibility with their schedules. We hope you enjoyed San Francisco and are happy you were able to book a hop-on / hop-off experience with another company.

Our tour with guide Jeffrey was absolutely fantastic! Jeffrey's sense of humor made the journey one to remember, and he easily ranks as one of the most entertaining tour guides I've had the pleasure of meeting. The breakfast and lunch stops were delightful, and the wineries we explored were great. The picturesque drive from San Francisco was the icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

Excellent Tour and very well organized, our driver was very good and make a couple additional stops for sightseeing. There is a problem in the App regarding the expense of Wine Tasting since there is no way of paying for only one of us since my wife does not drink so need to resolve this charge and reimburse one of the two payments.

Surprised by mandatory fees

The tour was excellent. However Viator never charged or told us it was mandatory to pay for the tasting in advance. Was very surprised when U had to pay before I could board the bus. Our tour guide was excellent. The vineyards were excellent The wine was really good

We are sorry to hear that it was a surprise that the wineries charge tasting fees. In our Viator tour listing (and on our actual website), we make it very clear that the tour "Includes visits to two wineries", but "Tasting fees are NOT included ($10-30 per winery). Tasting fees are waived with wine purchase". Please note that these are typical policies in wine country and are set by the wineries, not us. We do have minors and non-drinkers on our tours, which is the reason we don't make this an all-inclusive tour. It is $179 all in for 8-9 hours in Napa & Sonoma, which we think is fair since we charged the same price 3 years ago. Again, we are sorry if felt duped or surprised, but are happy you had a nice day! Jeffrey was a good tour guide as we drove through San Francisco, Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley. He provided history about the region along with recommendations of good places to eat and do extra wine tastings. Although there were some hiccups with timing and other tourists, Jeffrey did his best to keep the experience jovial and on schedule. This was a full day experience of good food and wine.
